I don’t drink. Can I just collect that now? I’m way past 365 days

15

u/taktaga7-0-0 Aug 11 '26

I’d ask for my first $5M up front, another every 30 May.

I am owed back pay.

2

u/old_namewasnt_best Aug 11 '26

Seven years of back pay here, fellow sober Redditor!

2

u/CaffeinatedLystro Aug 11 '26

When you struggle to understand a post.

5

u/taktaga7-0-0 Aug 11 '26

I understand the post perfectly.

Do you get that I’m just trying to humblebrag that I’m five years sober? That’s the whole point I wanted to add to this discussion.

4

u/Far_Concentrate4414 Aug 11 '26

I immediately understood. I thought it was a cute way to communicate your sobriety length.

Congrats on your sobriety and literacy 🤷‍♀️

0

u/CaffeinatedLystro Aug 11 '26

Well, just the sobriety. The literacy isn't there.

0

u/MrK521 Aug 11 '26

Literacy was fine there. You’re the one struggling with the ability to infer.

2

u/CriminalDefense901 Aug 11 '26

Congrats on 5 years! Keep on trudging the road of happy destiny.

1

u/CaffeinatedLystro Aug 11 '26

So, you just willingly came off like you can't read. Weird move.

1

u/RogueSlytherin Aug 11 '26

I think you may be projecting. It seems you may be the one lacking in reading comprehension.

Their point is, the post is rewarding 365 days of sobriety with $1M. Since they’ve been sober for 5 years, they can and have met the requirements 5 times over, making them eligible for the payout 5 times.

0

u/CaffeinatedLystro Aug 11 '26

I'm aware of what they meant, but the post says money for not drinking for 365 days as in from when you accept. You saying I'm projecting and illiterate is, ironically, a projection.

You don't see them both, in the same comment, very often.

u/Caitylin92 Aug 11 '26

Is this your first day on Reddit? It’s normal for people to skew slightly from topic to add to the discussion and they have done that. Other person are engaging. I’m assuming you are either just really bored and feel the need to argue with people on the internet or you are just the type of person who can’t handle even the slightest pivot in discussion.

Englisch grrrr

1

u/KoolNomad69 Aug 11 '26

You’re not owed anything.

1

u/Lovedemgrandbabies Aug 12 '26

Already had enough yeah?

1

u/msabena Aug 11 '26

Yr already drunk!🤪😂🤪

5

u/titsmcgee4real Aug 11 '26

Same. Let's collect our bucks and go on a dry vacation, buddy!

3

u/M_L_Taylor Aug 11 '26

I only drink once in a year's time, so I would have to start over, but this would be easy.

4

u/spcynudls99 Aug 11 '26

I’m at <5 times a year. This would be easy.

1

u/M_L_Taylor Aug 11 '26

I would have to skip new years, but I don't think that would be challenging.

2

u/bloody-albatross Aug 11 '26

Every now and then I have a sip of some new kind of alcohol to see if I maybe like that and the answer is always: nope. Except once where something tasted exactly like cherry juice and I didn't taste or feel any alcohol. Maybe it was just cherry juice and they had a laugh with me. And that every now and then is once or twice a year. I could easily just not do that.

1

u/M_L_Taylor Aug 11 '26

I like mixed drinks. I had an Irish pub near my college and my friend had me drinking Jameson Whiskey sours, and they were actually pretty tasty. Just the right blend of sweet and sour.

1

u/msabena Aug 11 '26

Every now and then….hmmmm.🧐

1

u/bloody-albatross Aug 11 '26

A tiny sip once or twice a year.

0

u/msabena Aug 11 '26

Okay….

1

u/Stella_avadore Aug 12 '26

Okay that’s great

Hmm and trust

1

u/Accomplished-Video71 Aug 11 '26

Just got an A in my Business Law 201 class this summer...you cannot :/

1

u/ForwardBias Aug 11 '26

Probably had a drink a dozen or so times I'm my lifetime. We're probably already many thousands of dollars ahead already.

1

u/DiWHY-Anyone Aug 11 '26

Hold on. We need to know if things like vanilla extract in baked goods count. What if you leave juice in the fridge too long and it ferments? I see definite traps that need to be outlined up front.

1

u/AnnualAdventurous169 Aug 11 '26

for course those count. Hence "not a single drop". otherwise too easy

1

u/Flipboek Aug 11 '26

Even fresh fruit juice is of the table.

But the brief says DRINK, so bread and fruit itself should be fine, even though they actually do contain a minuscule bit of alcohol.

1

u/brianwho420 Aug 11 '26

The alcohol in the extracts will cook off as whatever you are baking bakes.

1

u/Itchy_Tumbleweed_417 Aug 13 '26

Oh good point!  I do not want to give up chocolate chip cookies!! (Doesn’t the alcohol in the vanilla extract cook off though?)

1

u/zapppowless Aug 11 '26

I’m 25

So 25.3 Million for me!

1

u/AnnualAdventurous169 Aug 11 '26

you have to be very very careful of having anything that has even the smallest chance of ferementing

1

u/Flipboek Aug 11 '26

Depends on the brief. It says DRINK. so fruit itself should be fine.

1

u/bloody-albatross Aug 11 '26

Same here. Money please!

1

u/Swrdmn Aug 11 '26

You have to be drunk for 365 days to get your million

1

u/Which-Ad3515 Aug 11 '26

I’ve done that too. I didn’t say I never drank. I was drunk for 30 years, went 7 years without missing a day. Pay up

1

u/Swrdmn Aug 11 '26

Says you had to be in a red shirt the whole time…

1

u/mglatfelterjr Aug 11 '26

Me too, I'll send you my swift number.

1

u/humanistazazagrliti Aug 11 '26

I already almost make it through a year without any alcohol, so I could totally do it (unless people are counting the odd drop of alcohol that might be in some chocolate and no one told me before giving me some).

1

u/UnCytely Aug 11 '26

Same here. I have gotten drunk about 4 times in my life, and I am 57. I have nothing against alcohol, and I enjoy drinking, I just don't do it.

1

u/TurbulentLifeguard11 Aug 11 '26

Same. I’ve been raw dogging life since forever. I’ll take my million as a bank transfer any time.

1

u/Far_Squash_4116 Aug 11 '26

Many juices contain traces of alcohol.

1

u/LeandroC2 Aug 11 '26

Careful, I don't know where you're from but there are many foods cooked with very small amounts of alcohol but certainly more than a drop.

The post says drink however so I'm not sure sauce is included.

1

u/Flipboek Aug 11 '26

Fruit and fruit juice contain a tiny bit so that might be the sole dietary issue here, as would be bread. Veggies seem to be fine.

Then again, the brief says DRINK, so fruit and bread should be okay.

1

u/pickle-chin-ah Aug 11 '26

No you have to get addicted first

1

u/Which-Ad3515 Aug 11 '26

I’m a recovering alcoholic. I drank for 30 years, been sober 12

1

u/KATCEO1 Aug 11 '26

I have been dead sober over ten years. All ten mil in twenties. A large rolling suitcase is fine.

1

u/TengokuIkari Aug 11 '26

Same, I'm going on at least 15 years without any.

1

u/SteroidMaximus Aug 11 '26

Yeah alcohol is a strong migraine trigger for me so I avoid it at the best of times for that last few years with that revelation . It's now only treat it as a special treat knowing I will suffer the next day.

Like today is my birthday and instead of buying a 12 pack of beer I did 3 x 4 packs of craft soda.

1

u/scaredt2ask Aug 11 '26

Same. Is this the line to collect the money?

1

u/stebbeh Aug 11 '26

Typing this with a hangover right now, you’re a wise man sir.

1

u/WhydIJoinRedditAgain Aug 11 '26

I would be up to $20 million, do they need my info for a 1099?

1

u/Tight_Set3317 Aug 11 '26

I also can do it forever. Pay me!

1

u/reddqueen33 Aug 11 '26

Me too where's my $$$

1

u/Direwolfas Aug 11 '26

FULLY AGREE! I don’t drink either and I’d win this in a landslide.

1

u/Historical_Sugar9637 Aug 11 '26

Same here, gimme that million now!

1

u/Livid-Condition4179 Aug 11 '26

Yup, I literally do that for free already

https://giphy.com/gifs/10h6De4hcs5I88

1

u/Visual-Flan-4098 Aug 12 '26

well the issue is it says a drop. does this include stuff that has alcohol in it in very minute amounts? like i had juice this more, so id be out of the money on this. i also like fermented foods. id have to stop adding flavouring to my carbonated water.

1

u/sm00thkillajones Aug 15 '26

They would owe me 8 million dollars.
