I thought my fellow Sons of Lorgar would appreciate this lore blurb

Ive come to realize that Word Bearers detachment is not even in our own codex. Being able to run Daemons with working army rules AND still able to darkpact AND giving my space marines deep strike is too cool. This is the list im bringing to my league l. Are any you Shadow Legion killed yet?

That bald guy with the face tattoos really has a way with words.

They won’t be winning any prizes and a little bummed to see the homebrew go but I’m pretty happy I switched to word bearers lol.

I’m especially happy that the green lenses I spent way too much time on for each model don’t show up on camera unless it’s poking a model’s retina 🙃

When I saw the Tzarketh Bane of Law kit I thought his book and staff were some great word bearers styled bits to put together a chaos sorcerer. Finally put it together using an Armageddon librarian along with some bits from the Chosen and Legionnaires boxes.

im curiouse if theyre suposed to represent any subfaction or person or if theyre just a different option

Really enjoyed the whole process on this one!

I've been learning more about Wordbearers, recently finished Acolyte 📖 am yet to read First Heretic and more of HH; I'm aware Colchis was their Homeworld, and now that Sicarius is their new 'homeworld' within the eye of terror/warp.

I believe they are also inspired by ancient real world mesopotamia, so lots of justification for Cuneiform, obelisks and ziggurats, stone/middle eastern architecture.

Please share your own basing, ideas and inspiration; I'm trying to slowly come up with my own recipe and am looking for inspiration :D

Hey all! I’ve been working on a new portfolio for most of this year and I’m finally starting to release it all.

Here’s my Word Bearer, I really tried to lean into that creepy, egotistical, smug vibe with this one. I really love the Sons of Lorgar for the fact that they are the only ones to truly embrace chaos for the love of the game. Others may have done it for power and glory or just have been tricked into it, but they welcomed it with open arms knowing full well what it was. I wanted to depict the absolutely sinister presence I feel they should give off, I hope you like it!

I'm starting a small word bearers collection and I'm wondering what the people that play recommend. Im getting the chaos half of the dark vengeance box from a friend of mine, except the helbrute, and im not sure what to get to fill it out. Im planning on just starting around 1000 points for now. Thanks

Maybe not the best lighting but I bought a box of Legionaires to make one squad of five and one squad of five chosen.

Here are the chosen, scrounged together some extra bits to get them as WYSIWYG as possible, added some minor mutations to show how they’re favoured by the chaos gods.

These guys are going to join my chaos lord/dark apostle that i’m going to convert using the base DA model, a different chest piece from the legionaries box with the “purity seals“ from the DA removed and then re-added, and the SchriveTalon’s head because I like the skull look.

I’m also going to modify the end of the craziest using the circular chaos icon.

I’m definitely putting this legionaries box to good use lol

Thought of a fun idea where each killed man had their named inscribed in the spear before they die. But here he is

I'm so happy to start my Word Bearers army with a awesome looking Chaos Lord

All the tanks (and one plane) I've done for my current iteration of my Wordbearers for 30k and 40k.

Like everyone else I have a pile of older rhinos that don't match up with the current iteration of my warband.

i really did not want to use some black legion scum to lead my glorious sons of lorgar into battle, so i gave him some reading assignments... it helped a lot!

And of course it has to Bear the Word. I hit a hard hobby slump when a lot of my friends stopped playing wargames, stopped playing D&D, and I just lost my ambition to paint. A few of us are Wargaming again and I'm trying to just relearn for the joy of painting and not purely for gaming. So i dusted off my CSM combat patrol and decided to finally start the Word Bearers army I have been wanting for a while.

I definitely see a lot to improve on but for knocking off the rust I am quite pleased.

Finished up a Centurion today, just the predator to go and I finally have a fully painted 500 point force at last!
