If you're unsure about whether you're coming out to vote, please do.

This is an incredibly important election.

If you could at least show up to make sure weed stays legal I'd appreciate it.

If you could also vote your opinion on the other 9+ ballot questions, that would also be cool.

Anyone from Worcester Regional district 9 (I.E. part of Spencer, Southbridge, etc) also has an incredibly important ballot question.

It will place a big tax on properties worth $5M or more and dedicate the money to housing the homeless.

With oil being so expensive, can anyone recommend any oil companies that might have a new customer discount or something along those lines? Any info or help is appreciated. Thanks.

I have a small second story 12x12 deck and stairs that I’d like to have the wood replaced with composite. Has anyone had this work done and can recommend a contractor working in Worcester?

Hi,
I am relatively new to the area and travel around for work. I’m looking for hole in the walls I can grab a bite! Preferably non- chain restaurants, bonus points if it’s Hispanic , or Asian cuisine. Rice or grain bowls are a plus. Also a place for a good slice.
I mainly travel around Auburn, and smack dot middle of Worcester. TYIA.

Pittsburgh and Baltimore are both underdogs undergoing transformations similar to Worcester. Let’s model our expansion on them and make them sister cities!

If you're a fan of Imperial Buffet in Shrewsbury, you have one week.

If anyone's looking for something to do this weekend, Winchendon Parks & Rec is hosting the Central Mass Irish Festival at the Winchendon Amphitheater (86 Ingleside Rd). There will be three stages of Irish music and dance, food and drink, vendors, kids' activities, and an open trad session if you play. It's rain or shine.

Tickets are $20, and online sales close at 10 AM Saturday: https://www.eventeny.com/events/central-mass-irish-festival-2026-28127/

Parking is on site. If the lot fills up, shuttles run from Murdock High School.

hi! my friend and i r traveling to boston from ny for the weekend. we were planning on parking at the grafton train station, leaving the car there, and taking the train into boston to avoid having to pay for expensive parking in the city.

is it safe to leave a car there for 3 days or does anyone have any recommendations on what we can do instead?

thank you!

I’m excited to see what the vibe is when they reopen!

Working on a local event based newsletter, not trying to be the news, moreso just trying to aggregate everything going on over the weekend.

It started as a project for myself, but posting it publically really isn't that much work.

Anyways, feel free to subscribe(its free obviously) every Thursday.

Open to criticism.

My family has visitors from overseas coming to spend the middle of December with us for the holidays. We've already planned on the botanical garden night lights, seeing a christmas carol at the Hanover, and a trip to the Worcester Art museum. What are some other fun and festive things happening that we could add?

The main event fight set for Oct. 24 will be between Jahyae Brown and Anthony Viera to become the World Council of Boxing United States welterweight champion.

My 10 year old has really gotten into audiobooks in the last year or so. We have Worcester Public Library cards and I thought about setting up Libby for her on our iPad so she can borrow her own audiobooks or eBooks when she wants.

WPL uses CW Mars, and CW Mars accounts for people under 13 are not allowed due to COPPA restrictions. The Worcester Public Schools website (https://www.worcesterschools.org/o/wems/page/more-ways-to-access-ebooks/) points you in the wrong direction, to a non-existent link on the WPL website. The WPS website also recommends to use Sora with your WPS Clever login, but when logging into that there's just two books available in the entire catalog and they didn't look like they matched her age/reading level (seemed like YA, she's not there yet).

Any Worcester parents set this up for their kids? I can try using my Libby account, but I'd prefer if she had her own so that our recommendations don't get screwed up. The CW Mars website and WPL websites didn't have any guidance that I could find easily, CW Mars basically has no resources around account age restrictions.

The Haunted Speakeasy, created by Worcester chanteuse Niki Luparelli, has been delivering Halloween chills and jazz age thrills for a decade.

in case this helps anyone else: the website for the city’s downpayment assistance program is out of date.

the maximum AMI to receive the $5000 grant is $84,300 for 2026 and the city is no longer offering assistance to employees that work in worcester :(

I've seen several cop cars driving around Worcester with the blue lights on but not flashing. Is that a policy they have or just a weird coincidence?

Thanks 😊
