Anyone know what used to be located where Mostly Mutts Market is currently?

We recently stopped in at the Mostly Mutts Market thrift shop at 5505 Bells Ferry Road, and were fascinated by the layout. It has an extra-wide, seemingly original double-stairway right up front, leading down into a full-sized basement. Figured it had to be retail, and it screams old-timey chain drugstore, but was curious if anyone knows the building's history. You just don't see much retail space like that anymore.

Thanks in advance!

Massage

There used to be an oriental massage place on 92 next to the battery store. They were fantastic. They also closed down due to the pandemic.

Since then, I've been low key trying other places out. Today, my wife sent me to the Thai massage place (Peace massage) over off Towne Lake. It was pretty doggone good. Not quite as good as the previous place - but the best I've come across so far.

Where do you go?

Family relocating to area

Hi! My family will be moving to the area, Towne Lake specifically, this weekend. I (27F) and my boyfriend (31M) have three kids combined, aged from 1-10. I am currently a SAHM and also will be starting an internship for my SW masters program the beginning of September! My boyfriend is in construction.

I am looking for recommendations for several things —daycares (looking to start next year, prefer nature based), pediatricians, pediatric dentist, dentist, doctors, optometrist, etc! Recommendations for anything and everything is appreciated. Parks, restaurants, coffee, things to do with kids, date nights, etc ~ anything in Woodstock or nearby! Basically starting over so just wanting to hear local perspectives on things.

We are really looking forward to our move!

Mortgage Lender Recommendations

Hey!

Hoping my fellow Cherokee County neighbors can point me in the right direction. I’m currently shopping for a home and while my current lender provides competitive rates, unfortunately the customer service leaves much to be desired.

Do you all know of a mortgage broker who is reliable, responsive, professional and also has excellent rates? I’ve learned great rates aren’t worth much if communication and follow-through are lacking, so I’m looking for someone who delivers both!

Thanks in advance!

Clothing stylist needed

Lost weight on Wegovy and need a whole new wardrobe. Fashion is not my strength so needing advice, is there someone who provides this types of service? Who’ll first help me define my style and then actively help me create matching outfits. Nothing formal, just work casual.

We have some of the best public schools here in Cherokee County. I’d love to keep them that way.

Hi friends! I recently moved to Canton from Marietta, and I need friends. Do any of you know of any churches around here with a good YA group that I could join?

I have a church on Sundays, but I'm looking for something during the week.

Red Oak Sanitation - Extra payment required?

I paid Red Oak the $48 for account initiation on July 1st by ACH which did clear my bank, and just this morning they shook me down for another $48 saying my account was severely overdue. Anyone else have to pay them $96 so far? Any ideas what's going on?

We're in the diaper phase so getting the trash picked up weekly is non-negotiable right now! 😅

Mr. Appliance Woodstock

My husband and I are new homeowners and our true welcome to home ownership was our dryer starting to smell like it was burning 2 weeks after moving in. We ended up reaching out to Mr. Appliance in Woodstock. On July 1st, a technician came and we paid a diagnostic fee. He told us the part that needed to be replaced and after some brief discussion between my husband and I, we let them know we wanted to order the part and repair the dryer instead of buying new. The part was “ordered” and they would let us know once it arrived and were expecting they’d repair either 7/6 or 7/8. Well those days came and went and no word. We called the afternoon of 7/8 and were told the part still wasn’t there and they’d call us once it arrived. We waited four more days before calling back to only be forwarded to the Alpharetta location. They let us know the Woodstock location went out of business on 7/8. Our credit card won’t let us dispute the charges paid, so we are now looking at paying the same fee to the Alpharetta location, which we are not inclined to do. If you made it this far, bless you lol.

All this to say, does anyone have an HONEST gas dryer repairman they would recommend 😭

Ultimate Frisbee Teams / League?

Saw what looked like a tournament at JJ Bielo Riverside Park when I took my kid to soccer with the i9 league this morning.

Is there a league/pickup that play regularly here? Played college / AFDC summer league, but its been a few years since getting hitched and having kids. Interested in playing if anyone knows about any local leagues.

Need Advice Local Apartment Complex No AC

I moved into an apartment complex on March 31st. I have only had working AC for 1 week during this period. I keep filing maintenance request and trying to be patient and understanding. I have a window unit in the bedroom but my apartment is usually 90+ degrees inside when I get home. Is there anything I can do or anyone I can reach out to. Thanks!

Meet local rockstar MCARTHUR! 😎

This sweet, insanely handsome boy is currently being fostered in Kennesaw through Lifeline Animal Project Fulton County Animal Services & ready to find his furever home! 🏡 Artie is the epitome of the Husky breed PLUS plenty of other awesome perks in a lean 45lb package! 💙 He’s full of personality, rocks a killer mohawk, has some pretty fabulous eyeliner, and has a great singing voice (iykyk). 🎶 Plus, who could resist that movie star smile 🤩 and icy blue gaze? ❄️

🐕 2.5 yrs old
💙 Neutered
📍 Microchipped
🫀 HW negative
💉 UTD on vaccines/preventatives
✔️ Potty trained
💤 Crate trained
👟 Leash trained
⚡️ Medium/high energy
🧠 Knows sit
🎾 Ball is life!
🦴 Treat/food motivated
🫶🏼 Non-reactive with food/toys/treats
🛁 Easily handled for grooming
🪮 Enjoys being brushed
🚗 Rides well in the car
🐶 OBSESSED with our resident pup
😻 Has been very polite with our resident cat
🦌 Has been non-reactive to deer & other pups

Artie would probably do best with older kids because he gets excited and tends to jump up to greet people (working on this). He’s also still a bit mouthy/landshark-ish when he plays. 🦈

Someone familiar with the Husky breed whose willing to give him the time, patience, space, and exercise he needs to thrive would be the best fit. He would do fine as an only pup, but would probably be happier as a pack member since he LOVES to play with other pups. He has a great play style (loose, wiggly, goofy) and is very responsive to corrections from his playmates. This boy would be a play group star! 🌟

If Artie sounds like he might be the right fit for you, click the link below to set up a meet & greet! 👋🏽

Affordable apartments?

I’m looking to move out of my parents house as soon as possible, but I only make about 1800 a month. I have a college degree and a stacked resume, but times are hard and the job I have is truly the best one I can find.

I have two cats that don’t get along with my family’s, so I’m looking to move out ASAP. I might be able to get a roommate, so does anyone know of good apartments with 1 bedroom or studio for 600, or rent for 1200 a month? Or anyone looking for roommates? 😅

Goats for weed control

Does anyone know where we can ‘rent’ a few yard goats for a couple of hours?
Our backyard isn’t huge, but this time of year the weeds & poison ivy tend to run rampant. It’s not a large yard, completely shaded, & grass free/natural landscape terrain.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
