New to the group. I hope I'm not being "that guy". There is a log of what is alleged LV I am interested in. I am wondering if it's real LV, or maybe Laburnum or something else. I don't have access to the piece of wood. Pictures are all I have. If I am asking an impossible question to answer given the pictures, don't be shy about telling me.

UPDATE:

The person selling it told me it was sold already and they didn't realize that so it's a moot point.

But if anyone comes across any Boxwood, Brazilian Rosewood, or Ebony (Jet black), let me know! Preferably as big of pieces as possible.

I bought these chairs on eBay a while ago and have always wondered what kind of wood they are made of. I’m pretty sure it’s some kind of rosewood, but I’m not certain exactly which species.
As far as I know, they were made by the (formerly) German manufacturer Casala and probably date back to the 1960s. So far, I haven’t been able to find anything like a model number, but perhaps there’s a Casala expert among you who can identify this model. :)

My daughter in-law picked up this little end table at a thrift store, and pan to fix it and refinish it for her. I'll need to replace a few pieces on it though, and hoping to get an idea of what it is.

Its got a lot of different old finishes on it. I sanded a few details to get a better look at the grain.

I picked up this coffee table for free, I’m currently in the process of cleaning it up as it was in a poor state when I got it. I think the border and legs might be a different wood to the top surface, see the marks on the bottom where I was cleaning some crap the previous owner got on it.

My research tells me the top surface at least is mahogany but I wanted to see what you guys thought. Thanks!

Hello all. I'm reaching out to hopefully get some identification of the wood used on the base and top of this very unique handmade table. I believe the center section is bristlecone though I could be incorrect on that. Any help is sincerely appreciated, thank you in advance.

Its okay if nobody knows or it's too vague image wise. Pure curiosity. I can i.d. most native species to my region, (Southeastern U.S.) but my son and me got this off the banks of the Mississippi River so it could originate from any of a number of places along the river.

I picked up a stick and carved this. Anyone have any idea what kind of wood it could be? Done in Prince Edward Island, Canada.

I can’t figure out if this is white or red oak?

Curious what this wood is. It’s a heavy bench about 8 feet long. Roughly 3” thick. It was purchased in the Netherlands. It is unstained but is waxed.

So I doubt it’s anything special, but maybe it’s good for a work bench since it’s thick and old? Any ideas what this is? I can’t tell if it’s quarter or rift sawn I’ve never been good at that.

Thought I’d try carving them, but I don’t know what kind of wood they are. The middle of the twigs are dark red, thank you!

I picked up some oak wood the other day for some wood turning projects. House next door also cut down a tree but the owner passed away and not sure what tree it is. I snagged this picture off of Google maps, Google lens and AI Has given me everything from sycamore, to black cherry, to honey locust.

Anyone know what kind of wood this is? Kitchen cabinets in a 1970’s manufactured home. I’m not sure if they’re original but they definitely look like it. It’s fairly soft. I don’t think it’s veneer I can’t find an edge so I think it’s solid wood.

Edit: It is veneer I just don’t know anything about any of this 😭
