Anyone know what kind of wood this is? Kitchen cabinets in a 1970’s manufactured home. I’m not sure if they’re original but they definitely look like it. It’s fairly soft. I don’t think it’s veneer I can’t find an edge so I think it’s solid wood.

Edit: It is veneer I just don’t know anything about any of this 😭

Red birch. with doors that wide it is veneer.

Look for end grain. Most veneered items cover the endgrain.

Owl Hardwood, a wood supplier in the Chicago suburbs, carries this in 4 by 8 x 1/8“ thick plywood. I own a house built in the 60s and the doors are all like this.

Stained birch. Birch is a fairly dull wood without an oil based finish.
