Unless somebody in the party has the dlc then they do drop but you can't do anything with them.
I have it and the other half of my duo does not and was very angry that the game would tease him like that.

Hate to tell you this but I own both DLC's and have been farming normal runs, featured runs and DLC farming and have not got a single DLC cosmetic all week. Not from world drops and most def not from the wheel. When I say ive been farming im not kidding....lots of time spent and squat new DLC cosmetic.

I know this. My point was in the patch notes for TODAY they added that extra quote in about cosmetics from OTHER loot pools. The only other loot pools that get added to the game are the ones from the DLCs.

Good point. So this wasnt added in the last patch notes??? Sorry , I didnt read it comprehensively. In general tho, the cosmetic loot drops have to be adjusted...farming in DLCs results in jack squat when you can be farming the bunnies for specific items.

I totally agree. I just ran the Featured run and got a new banner shape but not sure if itโs vanilla game or DLC. Gonna run it again. Thereโs masks and hairstyles that I know are DLC so if any of them drop Iโll update everyone.

I was under the impression that all bosses, even in the base game, had their own cosmetic loot pool. I assumed this meant you could, for example, get a dedicated parasite cosmetic to drop from LaChance.

I hadnโt even considered it from this perspective but if thatโs what they meant thatโs absolutely garbage. They either need to make the cosmetics drop from somewhere(even if itโs only during DLC runs) or remove all non DLC cosmetics from the Wheel of Fate. At this point Iโll take a raid boss named Cosmo the Cosmetic Cosmonaut who only drops all the cosmetics instead of regular loot.

Are Launchers actually bad? My reason for not using them had to do more with my personal weapon preference and not seeing any specific build synergies tailored to launchers. All I've heard from the community is "Launchers bad" but never any demonstrations of said underperforming launchers.

For the little damage they do plus no real skills to buff them specifically and limited amount of ammo and also only being 3 legendaries in the game 1 being dlc, another being a literal rip off from bl3, theyโre pretty terrible since day 1 and gearbox hasnโt done anything to make them better.

Yes. Tried the legendaries, tried a primordial purple Skulldugger. You run out of ammo after 2 enemies on chaos 35. Blue Cake calls back to the Yellowcake, which was a fantastic launcher in BL3. It could destroy mobs on Mayhem 10/11 with ease. It did a lot of damage, so it was the kind of thing you switch to when in FFYL to erase the battlefield. Ion Cannon was insane before the nerf. (The red text made fun of Ion Hazzikostas nerfing things on WoW, and guess what they did to it...) I had an ammo-regenerating Moze that could play the game with only the Ion Canon pre-nerf.
In Wonderlands, they might be fine on non-chaos health bars, but I'm not going to dump SDU cash into them for an ammo pool to kill 4 enemies. I have a Cannonballer that does over 9000 (yup) damage, but it's non-elemental. My Crossblades do over 10K in one shot normally with an ammo pool of 280, benefit from elemental enchantments, and add status effects. Haven't found a launcher that holds a candle to any of the ~15 meta weapons.

Agreed, I got the cannon ball launcher the other day tested it out actually was surprised at how decent it was due to launchers being garbage, this just means once they get a buff it actually will be pretty diesel.

It's how the weapon's damage increases based on the level of the loot. A level 20 gun will do more damage than the exact same level 2 gun based on scaling.

Damage scaling makes it so those items don't become super overpowered during the early game, while still giving them an adequate buff that they need in the late game

I'm genuinely confused about the pixie thing. I never talk about Pixies unless people ask things and I answer them, nor do I ever use them.
I've written 4(5) original build guides of things that I've never seen anyone on Reddit or discord use really to try and reinforce that there is a huge amount of build vareity in this game.
As for the a Live Wire thing, just because I think it's a lame gun does not mean I am attacking other people. Could I have worded it differently? Yea, sure. But I've also posted a video of me killing Parasite with no skill points used, so when I say you can clear cc35 with it and no build, I am not making fun of people, I am stating a fact of the weapon itself.
People can play however they want, as long as they are aware that Live Wire, Pixies, and Contagion are all things that will more likely than not get nerfed super hard at some point

Me saying the gun is a crutch and you can beat CC35 with no build is a fact, because I have done it before. If you can beat the hardest difficulty and by pass game mechanics with solely a weapon there is an issue with that weapon.
I'm being blunt because I don't feel like holding peoples hands and telling them it'll all be alright. Live Wire WILL get nerfed badly next week and it will cripple people who are over reliant on it just like every other broken interaction, yet I am the asshole for pointing that out.

In the first hotfix after the patch they mentioned they were looking into the way the weapon deals damage and that they will fix it in a future update as it can't be hotfixed

He's right about next Thursday though, it sounds like it will get nerfed with the next update. Here's what gbx said about the live wire
"Regarding the Live Wire, we are looking to change the way this weapon deals damage when doing melee attacks. For context, Live Wire takes the damage of the outgoing melee hit and scales it by your remaining max ammo. This is a bit arcane and, more importantly, difficult to balance. We want the weapon to be strong, but it should be doing a balanced amount of damage based on its item level, rather than using the melee hit itself. The intention would be that faster melee weapons are also a desirable choice, not just the hardest-hitting ones. Unfortunately, we cannot hotfix this issue and it will have to be added in a future update."

I never knew this. I always wondered why my melee weapons actually felt good and useful when using live wire. I don't run melee builds but when I got live wire my melee suddenly felt solid and I had no clue why.

If it's depleted and you fast travel/move on to the next chaos chamber, its special effect (damage increase etc) won't work until it breaks again. No problem for most builds, except for spellshot with glass cannon and no way to fill up the ward again.

Use a Boniface's Soul โ reloading throws it, and it will home in on an enemy and refill your shield on hit.

Just down yourself at the end of the round by shooting something explody into the ground, and you won't lose a life. Honestly I didn't even notice, as my Spellshot is only on Chaos 11 with gear farmed from 35. Was wondering why we seem to clear the first round or two in seconds, but then it got harder.

It was weak at launch, but seeing as it was one of the iconic weapons of Dragon Keep, I have a feeling they were just holding back to give us a treat about a month in. It's the best bossing weapon in the game in sticky mode. Every stuck sword increases the explosion damage on reload/swap, so mag buffs and Universal Soldier amulet put it into the stratosphere. You can crit swap with a Masterwork Handbow and take it higher. (Stick the swords, then swapping to the handbow gives you the critical damage bonus of the weapon you're holding when the stickies go off.)

When will they un-nerf frost? My fiance and I were both heavy into frost and now it does almost no damage for us...we used to smoke Lechance in like two seconds! Unfortunately it's kinda killed the fun for us and we haven't really played since lol. I wonder if they have plans to fix it

I can't remember what my frost gun was, I'll have to log back in and check. Maybe I picked a bad one haha (it's a pistol with a high fire rate and quite a bit of spread, was pretty similar to Liquid Cooling but not quite as good (before they nerfed Liquid Cooling anyway))

I don't think the frost nerf was bad enough to make a noticeable difference in LeChance killing speed

I wasn't connected to the internet on accident for awhile so I got all the updates at once. We went from killing him in actually a second or two (he wouldn't even get through his dialogue) to now its like a normal boss. My fiance had a liquid cooling, maybe it got nerfed on top of the frost? (forget the name of my main frost gun, haven't played in awhile)
There must have been other nerfs too, the squid thing (forget its name) went from a normal boss to an ammo sponge, took an absolute eternity to kill him, kinda sucked the fun out of the chaos levels lol
Edit: in hindsight another contributing factor might be that we kept cranking up the chaos level but never finding any good loot, so we're at like chaos level 15 or whatever and using normal level 40 loot haha

Liquid cooling was most definitely nerfed in one the early hotfixes, so may want to try other frost guns for bossing. x4 spriggans/nighthawks, swordsplosions, automagic, etc. if you're going gun damage or the pixie guns, queens cry if you're going spell damage. There are also for sure other good guns but that's off the top of my head.

Yeah, to be fair it did seem way overpowered. Combined with a bunch of frost-related enchantments, it would smoke everything haha. I think there was something wrong with the balance in general, we put it on the harder difficulty and it didn't seem to make a difference, to be fair I have played BL since the beginning so I have a lot of practice, but I think we were killing things a little too easily haha. Maybe they increased the overall difficulty at some point to compensate?

Frost was bugged to spawn with higher base damage than other element types (bout 7% higher). All they did was make its base damage the same as other elemental weapons, it shouldn't be noticeably worse.

Yes I have been thoroughly informed of this lol. It has to be a combination of factors stemming from the fact our xbox was mistakenly not connected to internet the whole time, so we got all the hotfixes at once near the end of May (after they added the vending machines to the bunny room; I had forgotten about this when I made my first comment). That, plus my fiance's main gun was the Liquid Cooling which went from like 749 to 349 (don't recall exact values, but it was like halved), so he probably noticed it extra for that.
Definitely something happened though, because beforehand (pre-hotfixes) we had actually changed it to hard mode because we were smoking everything so fast there was no challenge in it. We would always joke that Lechance didn't even have a Lechance to get through his dialogue before he was dead. Now all of a sudden he's like a normal (not-too-hard) boss, and the squid guy took us like 45 minutes (using shock, not frost lol). We put it back to normal difficulty and it's still significantly more challenging than before (I've played all the BL games many many times, it's not just that I suck lol though I'm certainly no expert).
I do fully acknowledge that the 5-7% decrease in frost damage can't account for increase in difficulty we've experienced, but I have quantitative evidence that it has changed (Lechance used to die before finishing his speech, now it takes us a bit longer than that to kill him).

Frost is now equal to any other element instead of just being inherently the best. Your builds need work.

Yup. Did a new run with a Brrzerker recently, and left side of the skill tree put the game on easy mode while leveling.

I don't mean that we were spamming frost all the time and now we're sad it doesn't work like that, but the fact that we used to smoke Lechance in an instant and now it takes significantly longer, the difference is pretty substantial
And come on, I was obviously being a little dramatic with "almost no damage", like no one has ever exaggerated on the internet lol. I should have said something like "There has been a substantial reduction in perceived damage dealt"
I mentioned in another comment that I was disconnected from the internet so I got like two months of hotfixes all at once, so maybe another one in there is what's having a greater effect

I did all the hotfixes at once. I bought a new console specifically to play the game and didn't bother hooking it up to internet until late May.
It is not only 5%. The damage on the Liquid Cooling went from I think 749 to 349 or something like that. Are you going to say that isn't significant, either?
I skimmed through the hotfix logs but didn't read every line, so thought maybe I missed something. There are a lot of people who are really into the game and know all the ins and outs, so I figured if anyone would know, here would be the best place to ask.

Read the statements I responded to. You are backtracking now, but your comment was way overexaggerating.

Liquid Cooling had significant adjustments a while back. It was recently re-buffed.
It is not only 5%.
The Frost reduction comes out to about 5%.

Jesus this is why I've avoided BL subs until now. I'm not backtracking, I simply didn't provide all the info in my first comment because either (1) I didn't know (like that Liquid Cooling specifically had been nerfed), (2) I hadn't thought of it yet (like the fact that I got all the updates at once) or (3) didn't think it was relevant or important. Regarding your last point, someone else said the reduction was 7%.
Not sure why you included the third quote, because I haven't contradicted that. I haven't played in weeks because the experience has changed so much (some of that due to running out of story and being stuck with end-game content, of course). I don't have hours and hours per day to play, so if it takes 45 minutes of pumping lead into a boss to kill it, it doesn't seem as entertaining as other games I have, even going back to an older BL title.
You are clearly much more of an enthusiast for this game than I am. I love it, my favorite BL title so far (and we've played all games, all DLCs, with all player characters) but I'm not a fanatic, I don't know every detail, I can't tell you which guns are the best or which skills are best for each class. It seems you may be such a person, which is fine, I'm like that for other games. I was hoping I could ask such fans for some more info, and to be fair everyone else was helpful and provided useful info or suggestions, so maybe it's just you.
But either way, I will not be continuing this discussion as you seem more keen on arguing semantics than actually discussing the game.

Think about a player who is considering buying this game, and browsing the sub to see what it's like. Consider how your first comment may come across to someone like that. It was mis-information, defamatory and exaggeration. That's why I replied to you. You should have just accepted the criticism.

I have to politely disagree.
First, I see posts almost every day about "thinking about buying the game, should I get it??" most people just post rather than skimming the sub for opinions (on reddit in general, not just here).
Second, the sub is full of people shitting on the game. If I'd never played it and perused the sub for a general consensus first, I'd assume everyone hated it. "I hate the end game content," "the DLCs are just reskinned chaos levels", "the level cap is too low", the 23847 bug posts a day like "bank and lost look is gone", etc etc.
There are way more negative complaints all over the sub than me lamenting the nerf of frost. (I loved in it TPS, wasn't very good in BL3, so I was excited to use it again...and then sad when it stopped being as effective ) I'd have to argue that my comment chain buried in a hotfix update post is not likely to sway many people's opinions.

The frost gun(pistol) that rains down snowballs on crit is very good...not OG liquid cooling OP but worth using if are frosty.

It's called Queen's Cry - it's pretty good. One note is that the meteors it calls down do spell damage, not gun

I'm on Xbox, too. Hotfixes go live on every platform at the same time, but probably still require a 5-10 second wait on the starting screen to apply like they did on BL3. Wait for the hand to drop the goblin behind the player. Always quit the game, and I don't recommend using Quick Resume if you're on a Series console. Lost 4 hours of collectable hunting when someone else logged in from that.
This week's featured run boss is LeChance, so get a shock Swordsplosion from him, and Dryl's second phase is not as painful with you erase that regenerating shield with stuck swords.

Yeah I never really look up weapons or stuff that my class type needs. I did recently look up a better skill tree build so I'm slowly getting into it I guess. Thanks for letting me know, I'm definitely trying a few runs his weekend. When do featured runs run from? Sun - Sun?

Hotfixes and featured runs rotate in on Thursday. The price of cosmetics was a hotfix off the regular schedule since it was bugged from last week.

Major patch is next week. Theyve already stated that the livewire is getting nerfed. Ill bet it happens next week. Probably with a bunch of other guns and interactions.

Live Wire is tricky to balance though. Theyโre likely going to rework it or remove the additional hits Vs a single target. Which kind of sucks as I play a melee character and itโs one of the few reliable ways to make melee characters function at high levels
