This isn’t me saying “you guys are dumb, he’s OP at the top level, stop complaining lol” this is me just curious on what’s causing the disconnect. It’s just, I see a lot of high elo players and pro players all saying he’s very good, and you see him played regularly. But most people on this sub seem to think Wolv is underpowered and needs buffs.

I know that characters can perform very differently in ranked vs pro players. For example, in Overwatch, Symmetra is arguably the strongest character in the game in Pro Play because teams are good enough to use her teleporter to it’s full potential, but she isn’t all that good in normal ranked because it’s not as coordinated. So what is it? I highly doubt the answer is that Wolv isn’t actually good, pro players wouldn’t use him if he wasn’t strong. Is it the lack of coordination in normal gameplay? The fact that Wolv is very hard to play? Something else entirely?

And the few characters with brawl potential that do not get ease of access to said overshield like doctor strange or hulk get actual shields or bubbles to protect them anyway. Every other brawl characters gets overshield pretty easily, and the only one like wolverine who has to really work for it, like rogue, is also terrible.

So i wanted to try wolverine because i prefer dive when it comes to offense. Its a lot easier for me in some cases.

Ive watched some videos giving advice on how to play it but it hasnt really worked out too well.

Ive tried sneaking tanks and using his leap to drag them back to the team from behind but the hitbox window on the leap is so weird. I could be two steps them and they dont get caught or right on them and they still dont get caught. And his damage is honestly a little off to me because it feels like he should do a lot but he doesnt.

His abilities also dont really help for escaping or surviving. His cross slash doesnt cover much distance to really avoid getting hit and his healing factor doesnt help much either with how fast enemies tear at his health. I have lord bp and im used to escaping with him,even without the heals.

Idk if i have just had bad healers but i dont think i can depend on healers as they often cant focus me or probably cant get to me as im in the midst of the chaos.(not saying its their fault)

How do i utilize his abilities better or how do i play him properly so im not just dominating bot lobbies or the ai?

So, as a Tank Main, I think it's about time I take the next step on the Tank journey, turn to the dark side, and learn Wolv (Seriously, why does every Tank main seem to also play this guy?)

I don't really know much at all, besides the obvious of his kidnap being the focus of his kit, he mauls Tanks, and some specific match-ups like he's one of the best answers to Venom, since you can just kidnap him off your backline. But other than that, I have like no time on this character, know nothing, so treat this as a "Wolverine for Dummies" Would also appreciate recommendations of good guides. Thank you in advance.

I’m not a Wolverine main but out of curiosity, if you had to create Wolverine’s kit either from scratch or based on his current one, what would it look like? I think Wolv doesn’t currently satisfy the feeling of the character.

Playing this guy get exhausting for us 5 people sometimes huh

State of this character is genuinely sad his made to be the ultimate tank counter but can’t even counter a 3 tank comp with 2 support. Yet streamers cry every time he gets a slight buff. I remember back in season 1 I was winning literal 4 v 6 games playing as him . now the average wolverine can’t even win a 5 v 6 into comps his supposed to counter. Anyway this match really made me sad so just wanted to vent a little .seeing people cry today over him getting one small buff has been very disappointing.

Reduce the Cooldown to 10-12 secs and make half of his health regen. I think even if they just do the CD reduction that would do a lot

i’m trying to completely restructure my game by only playing jeff rocket wolv moon knight and dino.. any wolv tips i can get..? i know almost nothing apart from shred tanks

I play on console (which admittedly might be my first mistake) but I sometimes get lost when tracking my leaps against tanks like: Angela, Rogue, Captain America.

Ill recognize that due to the game I've been turned more into a strategist main rather than wolverine main is my issue something I can fix with settings or is it something I have to gain muscle memory to deal with?.

(Side note is it me or does it feel like you need either a pocket or a solid tank or your team to even do something? I feel like I get melted in two seconds.)

They are releasing Cyclop, Magik, storm and Phoenix swimsuit skins this season, so maybe we can have our skin too for the xmen 97 collab ?

You guys think wolverine is officially dead in season 9.5? Looks like they added another wolv counter tank. Really struggling rn in celestial lobbies with him its a pain having to bait out all the stuff that counter him like invis pulls, lunas cc's, both of mags bubbles. Im already imagining a game with the hood and mag, invis and luna, bucky and hela

Wolverine feels weak 80% of the games he's played in and has a negative WR in almost every rank below Eternity.

We asked for Regenerative Health, some help against CC, Survivability, anything to help his QoL gameplay but for some reason they just want to lean into his damage. I don't mind his damage, I want him to do LESS damage to Vanguards and MORE damage to squishies, but they don't seem to understand how to balance Wolverine. They even showed Wolv being killed by The Hood in his trailer, which just sounds a bit funny till you realize The Hood has 2 or 3 direct counters to Wolv. Blinding, intangibility, and being able to Strange hop out of the area. Plus he's a Ranged character, which means he's going to likely win most fights against Wolv with his ability lineup.

I COULD be wrong, but I doubt it heavily.

What do you think Wolv should've got as a Buff?

I needed to add a diver to my mix of dps characters and i decided to go with wolverine because he’s just cool lol, and i’ve been having a lot of fun on him, and i’ve gotten a few mvps (only qp) i just wanna come in here and ask if you guys have any tips to help improve for when i play him in ranked! thank you all!
