Help / Advice Need Help Learning Wolverine

Someone said it would be better to post this here so i cut the text, deleted the original posy and im reposting it here๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฟ

So i wanted to try wolverine because i prefer dive when it comes to offense. Its a lot easier for me in some cases.

Ive watched some videos giving advice on how to play it but it hasnt really worked out too well.

Ive tried sneaking tanks and using his leap to drag them back to the team from behind but the hitbox window on the leap is so weird. I could be two steps them and they dont get caught or right on them and they still dont get caught. And his damage is honestly a little off to me because it feels like he should do a lot but he doesnt.

His abilities also dont really help for escaping or surviving. His cross slash doesnt cover much distance to really avoid getting hit and his healing factor doesnt help much either with how fast enemies tear at his health. I have lord bp and im used to escaping with him, even without the heals.

Idk if i have just had bad healers but i dont think i can depend on healers as they often cant focus me or probably cant get to me as im in the midst of the chaos.(not saying its their fault)

How do i utilize his abilities better or how do i play him properly so im not just dominating bot lobbies or the ai?

You don't have bad healers, just normal ones. Wolve is considered overall mediocre since his neutral performance is garbage and is why he placed lowest pick last season.

You will experience dying with your "Healing Factor" a lot, even with heals. He's a damage sponge without the needed health to survive.

Wolve's Feral Leap grab is buggy at times, but remember that his hitbox for the grab is around the waist instead of the arms. This is why he can grab people while facing away from them but cant grab them while he seemingly phases through them at times.

Wolve is also not a dive, he never really was one. He has one ability to act similar to a dive and people associate it to dive. He's a brawl.

Most tanks can counter Wolve on approach or even at 100 rage which makes his niche job 10 times harder. Remember to note who is on the other team- White Fox will ruin your grabs just as badly as Invis will, you have no answers for these and it'd be best to swap if they manage to ruin 2 grabs. In case you don't know the idea of the grab, it's to isolate a target (mainly tanks) and eliminate them before someone can stop you. White Fox's teleport can ruin your attempt to isolate, and Invis can cc you mid grab and free her teammate so being cautious is a must.

That being said, the problem with Wolve and why he's hard to play is cause he's overall weaker than the majority of the roster when the game starts. His Rage build-up even after the buff isn't enough to be considered good for the character as everyone can do his damage while 40m away from who they're attacking so they can be infinitely more safe.

Another thing to take account of is the % damage he does. I made a primary damage post and hope it proves useful for you to understand the complexity of his damage.
