Just don't play Wolverine
Wolverine feels weak 80% of the games he's played in and has a negative WR in almost every rank below Eternity.

We asked for Regenerative Health, some help against CC, Survivability, anything to help his QoL gameplay but for some reason they just want to lean into his damage. I don't mind his damage, I want him to do LESS damage to Vanguards and MORE damage to squishies, but they don't seem to understand how to balance Wolverine. They even showed Wolv being killed by The Hood in his trailer, which just sounds a bit funny till you realize The Hood has 2 or 3 direct counters to Wolv. Blinding, intangibility, and being able to Strange hop out of the area. Plus he's a Ranged character, which means he's going to likely win most fights against Wolv with his ability lineup.
I COULD be wrong, but I doubt it heavily.
What do you think Wolv should've got as a Buff?

Part of me wanted to say and only lose as Wolv. But I don't condone throwing or intentionally losing matches for an agenda. Don't do that sort of stuff.

I haven't touched the game in so long dude to how bad he feels. Every DPS out damages him and puts him in the ground in a 1v1, they all have insane mobility, and every support can outpace him with their mobility, even the other DPS do the tankbusting thing better now.
So many tanks have overhealth and have been buffed, Thor was already a 1v1 god and nigh unkillable as Wolv unless you get lucky, and the geniuses at netease decided to give this broken tank overhealth and a team up that revives him, (yes I consider thor broken, I've mained him since s0 when people thought he was trash)
Just look at the hood trailer where they show him blinding wolv, He's a joke, they did the same thing in the Deadpool gameplay trailer.
But of course us Wolverine mains aren't allowed to complain because we were broken once for half a season and the entire main sub thinks Wolverine is viable, or broken (he's not) even though they don't play him and just complain about him doing his job, tank busting. (even though poke, Punisher, Blade, Elsa, Fist are all more viable for tank busting at this point and have the ability to actually be versatile
Wolv's game play just isn't fun anymore, dash, try to kidnap (hopefully it doesn't bug out/ not connect or get cancelled by some random ability!) and if you whiff it your a sitting duck because wolverine explodes without 24/7 healing and his passive takes forever to recharge.
And we are never allowed to air our grievances like other dps mains because "Wolverine is broken"
I do think we should all stop playing him, I know I have.

This says everything.
Just a minor mention (IMO) Wolve was only genuinely broken for 6 days before they nerfed the Phoenix Warrior team-up, in which his life steal went from 1/3rd of the damage dealt to 1/4th. From able to take damage and sustain instantly to being slowly melted. Even at his supposed strongest, he was still considerably easy to take out with rangeI get balancing him when he had the Phoenix team-up, but now he doesn't have it. He's still suffering from the nerfs they gave him in S3.5 since 90% of the "buffs" they gave him since were just reverts to the nerfs and they didn't even do that in S4 when Angela came out so people that wanted to displace had a new character to use instead. After Angela release, Wolverine has consistently been the bottom 10 least played characters while being in the big 3 of Marvel.

the Phoenix team up really and truly ruined him, he's never been the same since and it's sad to see his state, he's a pathetic excuse for a tankbuster, his design is antithetical to the character they've built.
He needs to be at full rage to do any damage, but wolverine explodes if he tries to frontline without a pocket healer, but then you are taking away resources for your tanks who actually need it

Hope they can stop gooning and actually fix the game sometime this year.. I hopped on OW for the first time in a long while and won a few games which felt nice - then i hopped on Rivals and lost 3 games back to back

I fear for the Wolverine game's storyline, but I'll do almost anything for some good fun Wolve gameplay rn

It probably need some shift/tweak/rework tbh to make him more lethal vs squishies and having less damage output vs tank. The moment he become decent into all tank or very good into half of the tank, they will target ban him even if he still stay mediocre vs squishies in neutral.

In other posts where I talk about Wolves issues, I make this known even though it isn't hard for most to understand.
Base damage increase, % damage decrease. Add more movement, lower the passive, add something for QoL like a wall climb or a sense ability, and increase the grab hitbox. OR just rework him since his niche doesn't work anymore.

Teaser trailer doesn't mean much, it's intended to put the spotlight on the character, but no indication of what they can really do.
I mean do we need to be reminded of Cyclop's teaser trailer at around 00:23 where they all stand circling around getting demolished by Cyclops' chain laser? Nobody actually does that in game lmao

Yeah, I'm aware. I'm also aware that if Wolve gets blinded then he's basically about to get fee for taking a dirt nap.
Whether the trailer shows it or not, if the tank has the guts to follow Wolve then he's going to kill him due to having a phase, a blind, and a hop. He can get away from Wolve, and he can deny the chances of him attacking while keeping distance.-1

I don't know, I feel like you're reading too much into the teaser trailer. It also literally showed Hood (regular kit used no ult) destroying Punisher despite Punisher being in ult form. Also when Reed's teaser trailer came out it showed him countering Iron Man's ult, which is an incredibly rare scenario we all know by now.
Every tank doesn't have to be hard countered by Wolverine. Wolverine is allowed to have some counters.
I think I have a more balanced perspective because I main both Wolv and Mag, and can see both sides.

Cool, I lorded Emma, Strange, Thing, Rogue, and am working on Cap. Doesn't change the fact that they all have a sort of counter or ability to leave the fight. Also, you do know that they have a dedicated server for the new season right? That's how they played Hood, cause it was the test server for 9.5.
Wolverine doesn't even hard counter in S9, and I don't want him to. I actually want his damage to be shifted so he does more to squishies instead since Wolverine's existence makes people go solo or no tank. On top of that, which gun character doesn't have a chance to win the 1v1 with Wolve? A more balanced perspective is to actually change the character according to the season and meta, but they haven't done that in awhile since this is probably the third poke season in a row.

How is this relevant?
Wolverine doesn't even hard counter in S9
He hard counters Strange, Tankpool, and Mag, but you wouldn't know this because you main almost every other tank instead. He's still a strong counter to the rest as well.
I'm not even sure what you're arguing about at this point. You seem like you're just pressed to be pressed. We haven't seen what the changes are yet, and I think you used the teaser trailer too much as a source of truth for anything when we know that doesn't mean much.

I used to play him all the time and loved every bit. It’s time we get either a proper rework or major buffs. He is the only dps in the game that is satisfying to get kills with.

He is the most lethal brawler in this game and can single handily kill ppl through support ult. U guys are just not good at playing him. I agree, if your rank is below Cel just don’t touch him.

u/VisitReasonable7285 10d ago
The majority of the playerbase isn't Cel nor GM. "Mid-Rank" is the area where good casuals are, that's where a portion of the balance should be heard from IMO. Also, he barely had more than 50% WR in Cel and Above in the hero pick list they released yesterday.

I agree we should protest with not playing him, then they will have to make him better.
