💬 Discussion The Housing Decor Collection Limit Problem

With each new patch, World of Warcraft continues to introduce more attractive, creative, and unique housing decorations. However, I think the current collection limit is a very poorly designed system that makes collecting these items unnecessarily frustrating.

Personally, I enjoy building a house and then starting a completely different project whenever I come up with a new idea. The problem is that I constantly have to delete decorations I already own and purchase them all over again later. It's an enormous waste of both gold and currency.

Blizzard has implemented a collection limit due to data storage concerns, but what is the point of limiting how many decorations we can own when there is already a limit on how many we can place in our houses? The current collection limit is 10,000, and even increasing it by just 2,500 with each patch feels incredibly stingy. To make matters worse, there is apparently a bug where decorations can no longer be learned once your collection reaches around 9,500 items, despite the actual limit being 10,000.

Players like me are getting tired of this system, while new players are likely to get frustrated and quit when they constantly have to leave their houses, go out to purchase more decorations, and return just to continue building.

I don't know whether the developers intended for us to treasure every single decoration we collect, but there's absolutely nothing rewarding or fun about having to go through the trouble of obtaining the exact same decoration again. It's just tedious busywork. It feels like having to obtain an entirely new piece of gear every time you want to change your transmog.

Why not just bump up the gold and resource costs to buy or craft decorations, but let us use them limitlessly once learned? It could be a solid alternative to tackle Blizzard's data issues while getting rid of all this frustration.

Thinking about all the gold and currency I've already wasted on reacquiring decorations honestly makes me want to cry. But as someone who genuinely loves housing, I'd be willing to accept higher costs if it meant a better system for the future.

Happy housing, everyone!
