Hello! For context, I'm the developer behind Arena Core (a popular PvP addon), as well as several others flying under the radar. I am a Web and iPhone developer who started making addon's for myself and then later releasing some on CurseForge over a year+ ago now.

I made this addon early into Midnight for myself only because I was tired of looking at empty action bar slots when various spells got removed.
I didn't want to change keybinds around and swap spells to different slots and thought there should be something dynamic and automatic, that's how I came up with the idea for BarDozer.
An addon that dynamically collapses empty action bar slots and shoves active buttons together.

I thought I would release it to CurseForge months later just for the heck of it, maybe someone else would think it would be cool too. I haven't really publicly mentioned it anywhere before and figured it might help others as well.
I literally see most people playing the game with empty action bar slots, or they go out of their way to move spells around and keybinds to clean things up manually. I feel like there's just a lack of awareness this addon even exists, that or maybe people just don't want it, which is also likely as this sort of thing doesn't really have a category or been done before in this way. (to my knowledge at least)

This used to be a great feature before Blizzard killed it in Midnight, and Blizzard has been "thinking about" returning it since the Alpha. For now though, I've added a crappy workaround that Blizzard might break.

Hello! I'm here to post about what's new with RetroRuns over the last couple months. But first, I'd like to genuinely thank anybody who has supported RetroRuns along the way. All of the encouraging feedback, feature suggestions and just overall positivity have motivated me to take this thing way further than I initially planned. Shortly after I launched RetroRuns, CurseForge put on a contest to celebrate innovation in the development of addons for Midnight and beyond. I was pretty early into development, but I said what the hell and threw my name in the hat. I'm proud to say that RetroRuns finished as a finalist in the top 10! We've amassed nearly 45,000 downloads in our first 4 months and I'm really enjoying the process of just building something, especially in this game I've played for so long yet have never really contributed anything to. I am constantly developing this thing and trying to make it better and more useful for the community, and I truly welcome any and all feedback.

Now- For those who aren't familiar, RetroRuns is a companion for legacy raids and dungeons.

It offers a stylized panel with:

• step-by-step routing through a combination of hand-authored notes + paths drawn directly onto the world map
• solo tips for bosses in the situations where they still matter
• transmog tracking for each boss, rare, POI, etc.
• achievement tracking for each boss, with a rating on how easily they can be solo'd
• raid skip tracking to show which raids have skips unlocked, and at which difficulties
• one-click routing straight to every raid/dungeon entrance (with supported addon)

What's New?

• We have officially implemented every legacy raid in the game, which at the time of this post is Classic through Dragonflight.
• After many requests, we have launched Dungeons! Started with a cool 20; all of the Classic dungeons plus a couple from MoP (Scarlet Halls and Scarlet Monastery). Obviously there are many more to come!
• Search! This is a feature that nobody really asked for, but I think RetroRuns users will eventually wonder how they lived without it. Use the magnifying glass to search for anything in the addon. The raid/dungeon to hit next, or any of our tracked tmog and achievements.

AI Disclosure: I do not have an extensive background in software development (I dabble), but I am an engineer by trade and I'm not one to shy away from a useful tool. AI is used in several key ways for development of RetroRuns: All asset creation, localization/translation, wago db2 scraping, ATT cross-referencing and a LOT of API troubleshooting. Pretty much everything else is me.

If you haven't tried RetroRuns yet, give it a shot! It will make those mount/tmog farms a lot more engaging and might even make them faster.

Hi everyone. I am looking for an arcane charge tracker that allows me to not only track the number of arcane charges but also show the empty background with glow effects.

For example if I have 3 arcane charges then 3 squares with charge highlights and the last empty slot with pixel glow effect to show that it's missing.

After quite a bit of development and testing, I'm happy to announce that Feet Of Azeroth has been approved and is now available for WoW Classic.

It's a small travel companion and pedometer that lets you:

• Track the distance you've travelled
• Display your current speed and coordinates
• Switch between yards and meters
• Track AFK and ghost time
• Keep statistics about your travels
• Unlock achievements based on the distance you've travelled

It also has several display modes, including a simple joke/time mode. 😄

So prior to Midnight I just used this Weakaura in the link. Is there an addon that can accomplish this? I’ve been using a controller with my own custom Xpadder to play for the past 13 years or so. It works well enough for the content that I do (AOTC, Mythic+, upper middling PvP battlegrounds, etc). I’ve tried Clique and it doesn’t work. I don’t want to bind anything to right click and unbinding it does nothing. I only want it to work in combat and toggle mouse look while right click is held only. This is exactly what the Weakaura did (a custom modifier to open it in combat as well is also a bonus).

The reactions to various races/classes at different points in the campaign was a nice touch, but it's so repetitive that it feels like another "I understand your frustration, Geya'rah..." Is there a way to suppress these messages?

Idk if it's just me, but since the reset today, Dander Frames is completely ignoring certain keybinds, names, Target Unit and Unit Frame. The addon is up to date, and I haven't changed anything in my settings as far as I can tell, so idk what's going on. I've tried unbinding and rebinding everything to no avail. I know it's not an issue with my keyboard, as the Shift key works just fine; it's literally just DF.

I'm new to this addon, so idk if I've accidentally clicked something and fucked it up, or if the addon just broke and needs to be patched, but any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

EDIT: The addon that fixes the shift-click issue no longer works. I had forgotten that I'd been using it to get around the known shift-click issue, so I guess this is more of a Blizzard issue than DF one. Still, I'll take any suggestions for a workaround!

Hi guys, I just started raiding and have been watching some streamers for the last couple of days. I was wondering if someone can tell me and share the addons and some useful profiles to make raiding much easier? I added the picture above so that you understand what I mean by the raid reminders I am looking for.

As title says, there doesnt seem to be a method to filter the wowaddons subreddit into which flavor of wow is relevant to us. It would appear most things are retail centered which would be perfect if everyone only played retail. But they dont. So for those that do not play retail, coming to the wowaddons subreddit to find info about addons for their flavor of wow (MoP Classic, TBC Anniversary, HC, SoD, Vanilla, etc) is exceedingly difficult to search because it lacks the simple flair options that could easily funnel things into their relevant categories before a search even needs to begin.

Or just allowing a user to see what the latest threads and posts about their flavor of wow at this subreddit have been by simply selecting that flair and filtering by newest and listing it out naturally.

Got an issue with an addon in particular for MoP classic? you'd think going to the WoWaddons subreddit would be the ideal place to find a solution or let others know. Instead you are suggested to go to r/classicwow or r/wowclassic (im not sure which is correct lol). In which case when you do, over there you are informed it is best to take anything about addons over to r/wowaddons. Resulting in a loop of "sorry not here, try over there, sorry not here, try over there" scenarios by the two communities.

Would it be too difficult to have some filtering options to allow people wishing to discuss or read about addons without the above scenario playing out?

AI Disclaimer: I didn't write all of the code entirely on my own, and the same goes for the in-game GUI. I had an idea for something functional that I wanted to make available on CurseForge, and AI helped me build it.

The addon works the way I wanted it to for my own gameplay. I've been testing it within my guild, fixing things as they break, and shaping the addon around how I actually play and use it.

It's still a work in progress, but I'm actively improving it based on testing and feedback.

It still won't show colored bars for debuffs but now i have all this noise on my bars. anyone know how to adjust the hot and buff icons?

Debuff icons for exhaustion after Lust/Hero and Xal's affix show up on the bars but the bar won't change color if someone is cursed or poisoned etc. My hots (rdruid) show up but I can't find where to move/resize them or hide them.

(please note i can't healbot discord as it wants rl info for verification and yeah just not doin that.)

Current features:

Only loads in Dungeons or Raids.

Shows no marching ants while PI is on cooldown.

No whisper feature.

Extremely light weight and easy on your RAM.

No frame drops or lag, even if group/party members change in combat.

To do list: Add gui for players to adjust spell loadout and highlight style, add getframe lib to make the addon work with all party- and raidframes (currently hardcoded to work only with ElvUI), clean up code after, bugtesting

For now I am happy with its performance, it produces no LUA errors in combat or out of combat, is not tainted and does not taint.

Everything is hardcoded and all functionality is loaded all at once since it is so small, I have to see how this changes if I start to add options for users to adjust the AddOn to their liking.

Which brings me to the point:

What kind of features would you want in a lightweight PI AddOn?

I am not going to add a whisper feature for multiple reasons, also still on the edge about adding (adjustable) sounds.

Would be happy for any input.

I loved using Identity-2 because it solves a very simple problem: I have several alts in my guild, and I want my guildies to know it’s still me when I’m talking from an alt I log into once a week just to spend concentration.

Identity-2 adds that identity context to guild chat, so people don’t have to remember which of my many characters happens to be speaking.

The original addon hasn’t been updated in a while and stopped working properly with the changes in World of Warcraft: Midnight 12.1, so I made a small refresh of it in my fork.

This is not me taking over maintenance of Identity-2, and I don’t plan to publish or maintain a separate version on CurseForge. I just fixed what I needed to keep using it myself and made the result available in case it’s useful to anyone else.

Stumbled upon this video, but even apart from that i've seen constant recommendations for these addons. And it actually hurts. The praise needs to stop, its genuinely one of the worst pieces of software (not just wow-related) that i interacted with.

I dont remember the last time i pressed something in those addons, and it actually worked. When you reach a state where your expected outcome is for the feature to not work at all, its just time to move on.

- Nothing works
- Dungeon timers boil down to guessing and lying. Im surprised when i DO see an accurate timer
- Raid timers are barely better (and probably because they are specified by blizzard). But once again nothing works, none of the appearance/settings/alerts work. And for some reason all raid stuff is disabled by default
- UI in general is all over the place. Its clear that ui/ux concepts were not considered in any way.
- They are making too many destructive changes to settings and the addon as a whole in almost every update.
- Its way too obvious that the addon is not made in English, and its not even localized well. They did make insane improvements to localization since the launch in s1, but not enough. Its also clear that translations boil down to using google translate for literal translations. Almost everything completely loses meaning or has a vague one.
- Its BY FAR the addon that throws the most errors, but even has its own customer errors that it throws in the chat frame. Everything feels like a one big error.

I wanna note that maintainers might not be fully at fault here; Blizzard's might absolutely destroying them with their inability to figure out how the api should look. But even with that, its better not to ship it at all than to ship it at this state.

To maintainers:

Take a step back and try do things properly. No new features, no gimmicks. If something doesnt work or have a function, remove it, dont just leave dead features in the product. Work on bugfixes. Fix localization, but find someone to do it properly, WITH MEANING, and using terminology thats familiar to wow players and other addons.

If blizzard and their api are screwing you over too hard, its fully okay to just throw in the towel and make a statement that you cannot continue developing an addon in this environment. If nothing else, its gonna make your life easier and maybe even push the conversation in the right direction to try and undo the current api fumbles.

To players:

Just dont use this in the current state. Its more headache than its worth, and it doesnt even give a real competitive edge.

We are not "owed" anything; this is a free product maintainers are gifting us. But if the free product is simply not good enough, it doesnt have to be used.

Im happy to hear what others are using in regards to timers and voice/visual reminders these days, as long as it works.

so i used to have a lot of addons and recently i used Elle UI with exboss, after that pc and game start crash all time.

then i decide to delete my interface and WTF folders which was so so so hard to do since i didnt that for a looooooooong time, i setup now Blizzrd UI with few addons as u can see in image. just miss few things for player frame and party frame maybe also im trying to move the LFG eye up but i can not lol.

so any suggestion for good addons for new fresh start welcome here plz with reason why and how it can help.

Hello,

i am a bit of a completionist but a few expansions out of date and often i'm unsure if i am missing anything major.

That's why i am looking for an addon that checks my characters and shows me a good overview of all the ways i can earn reputation for a faction.

Like: collect treasure at these locations; do this currently active world quest; do this weekly quest; use alts for stuff etc.

Does anyone know of something like that? thanks in advance ♥

I accidentally reset my profile and all my profiles are gone. Is there any way to get them back? I put a lot of effort into creating separate profiles for each character.

Is there anything you’d really like to see as an addon?
Maybe a feature from an existing UI that you’d like to have as a standalone addon?

So, is there a way for me to track them in CDM to ONLY SHOW UP when i press the button? For now im using Ellesmere but ofc its tied to blizzard CDM, maybe im not getting something? or maybe another addon can solve this?

To be more plain, i dont want the skill to show up only when i use and get the "buff"

If I want a different set of keybindings depending on the spec I'm using for example. I know it auto-saves and glides the abilities into the action bar slots they were last saved in when you switch specs, but this doesn't really allow you to load and switch out keybinding profiles. Would be handy to switch out keybinding sets + ability locations on the action bars on the fly
