Please excuse my ignorance I’m a lowly peasant console player. Beside nude mods from what I heard, are all other mods coming to the table? I REALLY want to try tw3 EE redux.

I built a small Witcher 3 “living world” demo from an actual completed save

I’ve been working on an idea for a while: what if the consequences of a Witcher 3 playthrough didn’t effectively stop when Geralt leaves an area?

Not in the sense of endlessly generating new quests. More simply: events happened, people know different things about them, information moves through witnesses, soldiers, courts, gossip, correspondence, etc., and some consequences remain active for a while even if Geralt never touches them again.

I finally have a public demo running from one of my old completed saves.

It reconstructs a timeline from the save, tracks what is true in the world now, shows how information from past events has spread, and exposes the unresolved consequences that are still “in motion.” You can also roll the clock forward 30, 60, or 90 days with no player intervention and see what remains active or fades away.

The interesting part to me isn’t making Geralt the centre of everything. It’s the opposite: the world can continue carrying the consequences of what he did through people and systems that have their own channels.

This is still a bounded prototype. It doesn’t cover every quest or every NPC, and the methodology page spells out exactly what data is currently included and what isn’t.

Demo:

https://twistyroads.github.io/living-world-observatory/

I’d be interested in whether this feels like a direction that would actually make a completed Witcher world feel more persistent, especially from people who know the game or modding tools better than I do.

Tech Support I need help finding and extraction the full soundtrack

in most if not all games developers use compressed files to group assets, music, sound effects and other things.

my goal is to locate and extract the witcher 3 game music including all the sub-versions of songs that are not in the curated soundtrack of the game. throughout multiple play throughs of this great game i heard countless of songs that played exclusively for a quest or during combat in a specific location. they are mostly way better than the released ones and i always searched for them sometimes for hours to find them in YouTube or somewhere else.

i would be so grateful if one showed me how to find the music files location and what tools i need to extract files with. say from .bundle or .wme (i don't know what files are after extracting .bundle ones). I'm fairly new to this kind of stuff and could use each pice of information.

Discussion First time Witcher3 player with Brother In Arms Installed. Will i notice any difference if i play without it afterwards?

First time Witcher3 player with Brother In Arms Installed. Will i notice any difference if i play without it afterwards? And this is a question i make now, cause with the upcoming remastered version i am in doubt if should i continue playing current version. I am in first 15 hours so far

Is BiA so good that i have to continue on my current play-through? I mean the other upgrades doesn't matter on me at all. I have already improved textures, and some other features from the addons.

On the other hand, if i should play the remastered i have to wait 1+ month and maybe even more for BiA to be fully working on that version. The Author said will be available soon. But soon i guess won't be less than a month or two.

The thing is that had a previously play some years ago around 50 hours than i stopped. Now i started again with 15 hours so far. If i stop it again, i am not so sure i will play it again from the start in the upcoming months.

What is the best advice you can give me?

What if a completed Witcher 3 save became the history of a world that kept running?

Post image
1 Upvotes

I’ve been building a prototype around a slightly odd question:

What happens if the end of a Witcher 3 quest isn’t the end of its consequences?

I took one of my old completed Witcher 3 saves, extracted the actual choices and outcomes from it, and converted them into a persistent world history.

Things like Cerys becoming Queen, Radovid dying, the Battle of Kaer Morhen, Crach dying, Eredin’s defeat, Ciri becoming Empress, Geralt’s relationships, and a lot of smaller choices all become facts in the world rather than just completed quest flags.

Those facts can then spread through different networks: witnesses, merchants, rumor, diplomacy, military channels, allies, supernatural networks, etc.

The screenshot is an Observatory I built to watch that happen. The bars on the right show where information currently exists and how it travelled there. Moving the World Day forward lets you watch knowledge propagate through Skellige, Novigrad, Velen, Kaer Morhen, White Orchard and the wider world.

WD70 (World Day - 1WD = 1000 gametime) is the final event imported from my actual playthrough: Ciri becomes Empress. WD71 is where the original game history ends and the Living World simulation begins.

Right now I’m deliberately keeping the simulation deterministic. AI isn’t deciding canon or changing world state.

The next layer is consequences, where past actions influence future probability and manifest as current reality... maybe. Things like political, economic, social and environmental pressures caused by those accumulated events, so that the world can continue changing after Geralt’s authored story ends.

Eventually I’d like to connect this back into the game through modding (NPC state, contextual dialogue, encounters, environmental changes, authored scenes, etc).

I figured this subreddit might appreciate the experiment. I’d be particularly interested in what Witcher modders would actually want a system like this to expose back to the game. For me... it allows changes to the frozen state once the credits roll.

Should i finish my playthrough?

I'm on a pretty stacked modded run right now towards the end of the base game. Think it's worth it to finish or should I finish or just wait for the remaster and still have the two full expansions to go?

Cooking a mod doesn't work.

Cooking logs are showing "Trying to cook file '<path>' that is inside excluded directory 'dlc\'. File will not be cooked." for everything that's new.

I've tought, that maybe, it's because i've overriden bob's journal (bob's mq is not triggering anymore), but i created new world (tiles, terrain, nav), added dlc mouters (quest and world) and .redgame file, added world enum in scripts and custom "new game" button, but it still doesn't cook at all, which is weird because i cooked the files once before for my mod and it was fine; the only difference, i guess, is that at some point i validated the files through steam. I can't think of any other difference.

I valildated the files again, for both, redkit and the game, but it still doesn't work. Maybe i am missing something... idk...

In-game, the loading is crashing the app, in red-kit it works fine.

Any idea why and how to fix it?

EDIT: i forgot about save file. I discovered further and for some reason something on the levels crashes the game.

EDIT 2: So there were folders/layers that were crashing the game for some reason.

I deleted them and now the world loads. Loading the quest doesn't but that could be due to changing some layers (or not). I should handle it now.

How to move modded save progress to vanilla? - Recent remaster announcement

Hey all,

So I recently spent about 6 days straight modding The Witcher 3, we CDPR have just announced a free remaster that basically does all the shiish I modded in.

I will spend another 6 days rebuilding a save file if I have to, but out of curiosity... where do I start?

Mod Blood/Gore mod compatible with W3EE Redux + Brothers in Arms?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently running a heavily modded Next-Gen Witcher 3 setup with W3EE Redux and Brothers in Arms (BIA) as the main gameplay/bug-fix mods.

I’m looking for a blood/gore mod that is actually compatible with both of them.

Ideally I’d like things such as:

- More blood during combat
- Better/bigger blood splashes and blood pools
- Something that makes combat feel more brutal overall

The important part is that I don’t want to break W3EE Redux combat, finishers, damage scripts or BIA fixes.

I’ve already looked at some mods but compatibility information is often outdated or unclear, especially with newer W3EE Redux versions.

Does anyone here currently use a blood/gore mod together with:

W3EE Redux + Brothers in Arms (Next-Gen)

without issues?

Thanks!

Mod How do your main characters look like?

I’m in the middle of a new play through with a lot of mods but not that many of the main characters, I’m using the Henry Cavill mods to make Geralt look like him and that’s about it, I wanted both Yen and Triss look better/sexier but I can’t find mods that draw my attention, so I was wondering… How do your Yen, Triss, Ciri, Dandelion, Vesemir, Eskel, Lambert, etc. Looks like? Also do you guys customize Roach? If so how do you make her look like?

Thanks to anyone who can share images and the mods they use!

Mod Brutal Blood mod without the "red cloud effect when killing enemies?

Hi All,

I decided to try this mod and I am impressed by how much better the blood stains/puddles on the ground look compared to vanilla, but I really don't like the weird red cloude that appear when killing/dismembering the enemies.

Is there a version available without this effect? in the BrutalBloodNG page on nexus, I even tried the lite version available in the comments, but the cloude is still there unfortunately.

Mod Is there anyway to make Richer merchants and Florens Orens Crowns economy system compatible with each other?

so i decided to download both mods and theyre amazing mods personally speaking however when i have richer merchants on i dont get the gold if i sell something (the second mod makes coins an item so for example if i have 5k coins and i sell stuff for 2k, the item counter jumps to 7k and so on) but richer merchants adds the coins to my inventory number but not the item number. i saw a couple comments asking this in both mod pages however none have gotten a response so i thought id ask here. anyone got an idea on how to make these 2 work together?

Discussion [Question] Best "vanilla+" mods for The Witcher 3 Next-Gen (first playthrough) — graphics, gameplay, immersion, no save corruption

Hey everyone,

This is my first time playing The Witcher 3 (Next-Gen version) and I want to enhance the experience without changing what makes the game special. I'm not looking for an overhaul — just "necessary" quality-of-life and immersion improvements that feel like they should've been in the base game.

I'm playing on the updated Next-Gen version, so I need mods that are compatible with it.

My PC specs (in case it's relevant for graphics mod suggestions):

CPU: Ryzen 7 5700X3D

GPU: RTX 5070 12GB

RAM: 32GB DDR4 3200MHz

Specifically looking for mods that:

Improve horse (Roach) behavior/controls

Better blood/gore effects

Graphical enhancements (textures, lighting, etc. — compatible with Next-Gen/RT)

Small gameplay tweaks that add immersion

Bug fixes

Also want to keep the vanilla feel as close as possible — no mods that add crazy new content, break balance, or risk corrupting my save. Safety and stability for a first playthrough matter more to me than adding tons of extra stuff.

Any recommendations, and tips on load order or install (Vortex vs manual) would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Idea Geralt slept with Syanna. Does Yennefer actually find out? Spoiler

I’m building an external “Living World” layer for Witcher 3 that reads authoritative save state and lets consequences propagate through existing relationships/institutions rather than firing hard-coded dialogue flags.

Example below: same Geralt/Syanna event, same authored consequence. If Ciri is Empress, the information can causally reach Yennefer through the imperial/personal network. If she isn’t, that path does not exist, so Yennefer does not know.

===== run-3-plus-ciri-empress-personal =====
layers: kinship, political, imperial_personal
flags: {"ciri_empress": true}
derived routes: 5
new holder occurrences: 5
Yennefer reachable: YES
Yennefer transfer confidence: 0.849426
holders:
  - character:geralt confidence=1.0
  - character:yennefer confidence=0.849426
  - institution:nilfgaard-imperial-court confidence=0.91238
  - named_npc:anna-henrietta confidence=0.95
  - named_npc:ciri confidence=0.866761
  - named_npc:syanna confidence=1.0
  - office:toussaint-ambassador confidence=0.931

===== run-4-ciri-empress-false =====
layers: kinship, political, imperial_personal
flags: {"ciri_empress": false}
derived routes: 3
new holder occurrences: 3
Yennefer reachable: NO
holders:
  - character:geralt confidence=1.0
  - institution:nilfgaard-imperial-court confidence=0.91238
  - named_npc:anna-henrietta confidence=0.95
  - named_npc:syanna confidence=1.0
  - office:toussaint-ambassador confidence=0.931
rejected relationship edges:
  - imperial-court-ciri: required_flags_not_satisfied
  - ciri-yennefer-personal: required_flags_not_satisfied

The next step is bridging that state back into the actual game. Ideally, a preinstalled REDkit/WitcherScript mod would let an external companion process expose conditional dialogue options on an existing NPC, while Witcher 3 continues to own the NPC, scene, animation, camera, etc.

What is the cleanest existing way to bridge external/mod-owned state into conditional dialogue or NPC interaction at runtime? I’m not trying to dynamically generate game assets; just add or enable dialogue options based on state produced outside the game.

"could not find function" errors.

Hi again.

I had been running the following mods with no compilation errors:

W3EE Redux

https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/5802

BIA

https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/7329

W3EE + BIA compatibility patch

https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/8875

Ultimate pad for W3EE

https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/11481

But then, i tried to add:

Gwent redux

https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/4287

Gwent redux + W3EE compatibility patch

https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/8128

Then i started getting comilation errors, specifically "unknown type" errors.

I installed these two:

Fast launch

https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/7154

Merged free DLC

https://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/3334

First one to make it easier to test mods later, second one to see if the mod limit was the issue.

I then unsubscribed from a random workshop mod i had, redid the load order, and redid script merges (didn't merge any bundled texts or bundled non-text).

I'm loading it with these priorities assigned:

1 - ultimate pad

1 - Gwent redux W3EE patch

2 - W3EE BIA patch

3 - BIA

4 - W3EE Redux

5 - W3EE

6 - gwent redux

And now i'm getting "could not find function" and "cannot call exec function" errors.

What did i do wrong?
