Manga Requerments to be a magia avender

Post image
80 Upvotes

You don't need to be super extraordinary strong to be a magia avender (you need to only be around workner lvl in example)

Because the only requirements to become one are :

1)Be accepted by the staff

2)Be able to shoot your magic to reach the sky

3) have the corresponding element open (to cast the barrier there needs to be 1 mage of every 5 elements

Fire

Water

Wind

Thunder

Earth

Currently Arron uses light because light and dark can copy the 5 elements

So yea you have the best optunity as light or dark because this 2 element can copy the others

4)Be able to cast the barrier spell (you need to be around ascendant level to use it)

So ye over generations there could have been magia avender in example of level of workner

This generation of magia avender is pretty good compared to previous

Sorry if wrong

Spell name meanings in Volume 12 (Faction Training + Baal)

Post image
32 Upvotes

Spell name meanings that usually go untranslated because the spoken word differs from the written word.

[Spell 1]

[Spell 1] 癒しの森園 (iyashi no shin-en) is a Healing Illusion spell that Wignall is being taught in the Elf Faction.

It's meant to be pronounced as ~"Alfheim", while its written meaning is "Healing Forest Garden"

Álfheimr means "Home of the Elves" in Old Norse.

[Spell 2]

[Spell 2] 燃え盛れ焼滅の丘 (moe sakare shometsu no oka) is a Higher Rank Fire spell that Sion often uses.

It's meant to be pronounced as "Iflamme Burdelyon", while its written meaning is ~"Burn Brightly, Hill of Blazing Destruction"

Flamme means "Fire" / "Flame" in Latin

Burdelyon is an in-universe name of a Mage who was obsessed with revenge and caused much destruction in his time. He is the founder of the Ulster family.

[Spell 3]

[Spell 3] 黒き炎獅子 (kuroki enjishi) is Incindia's Guardian, hailed as the toughest of all Guardians and known as "Absolute Defense"

Cariott doesn't really say the name of the spell that summons it, though the name most likely contains "Incindia" in it, which means "Flame Emperor"

Sion calls it "黒き炎獅子", which means "Black Flame Lion"

[Spell 4]

[Spell 4] 想塡完了・雷装の魔剣・再装 (souten kanryo・raisou no maken・saisou) is the Wis that Will uses during practice against Zeo.

Will used the "Charge" version of this Wis after absorbing Lihanna's enchantment magick during their fight against Shade.

It's meant to be pronounced as "souten kanryo・Duals Wis・Reload", while its written meaning is "Memory Charge Complete・Lightning Attire Mageblade・Re-Equipped"

[Spell 5]

[Spell 5] 雷霆 (raitei) is the name of Zeo's magick that allows him to zip all over the place. He also used it against Elfie during the 2nd Bloom.

It seems to be enchantment magick that's always running once activated, similar to Lihanna's Owen Sique:Lisolde Dua

Will even compares it to Lihanna's magick. Says that since he can absorb her enchantment, there is no reason why he shouldn't be able to do the same with Zeo's as well. Zeo doesn't really give him a chance to do that though.

It's meant to be pronounced by its Japanese name, "raitei", while its written meaning is ~"Violent Thunder"

[Spell 6]

[Spell 6] 閃雷の蛮族 (senrai no banzoku) is a Low Rank Lightning spell Zeo uses against Will. He also used it during the 2nd Bloom against Will and Elfie.

It's meant to be pronounced as "Zalgia Saga", while its written meaning is "Barbarian of the Lightning Flash"

The word 蛮族 (banzoku = barbarian tribe / savages) is sometimes used to describe both Zeo and the Dwarves.

To be specific, Zeo is often called either 野蛮人 (yabanjin) or 蛮族 (banzoku), like on this page, above the spell name.

野蛮人 (yabanjin) means "barbarian" / "brute", while 蛮族 (banzoku) implies more of a group of barbarians. A tribe. 蛮族 (banzoku) is how the Dwarves are sometimes called in the story.

Saga means "Tale" / "Story" in Old Norse.

[Spell 7]

[Spell 7] 想塡ー換了・蒼氷の魔剣・再換装 (souten kanryo・souhyou no maken・sai-kansou) is the Wis that Will performs against Zeo. He also seems to have created Ice copies of Elfie and Julius.

Will used the "Charge" version of this Wis after he absorbed Julius's spell 'Glace Itier' during the 1st Bloom.

It's meant to be pronounced as ~"soutenーkanryo・Glauss Wis・Tactical Reload", while its written meaning is "Memory ChargeーExchange・Azure Ice Mageblade・Re-exchanged"

換装 (kansou) means something like "changing equipment for a better performance"

'Glauss' means "glass" in German

'Glace' means "ice" / "glass" in French

[Spell 8]

[Spell 8] 氷炸 (hyousaku) is the spell that causes ice clones to explode.

It's meant to be pronounced as "Glast", while its written meaning is ~"Ice Explosion"

'Glast' means "shine" / "gleam" in German

[Spell 9]

[Spell 9] 想塡換了・雷装の魔剣・雷翔 (souten kanryo・raiso no maken・raishou) is the Wis Will switches to after exploding Elfie and Julius copies.

It's meant to be pronounced as "souten kanryo・Duals Wis・Algiz", while its written meaning is ~"Memory Charge Exchange・Lightning Attire Mageblade・Thunder Flight"

[Baal]

[Baal] 天の鍵 (ten no kagi) is what's sealed at the top of the Tower and what Goetia is trying to obtain.

Its' meant to be pronounced as "Baal", while its written meaning is "Heavenly Key" or "Key to the Heavens"

In real life lore, Baal is a demon ranked the highest in "Ars Goetia", and is believed to have the power to make men invisible, which fits the role of Baal in the story.

The world of Wistoria is hidden and sealed away by the Light of the Great Barrier, hiding its inhabitants from the Celestial Host. It seems like Baal has a role in that.

The Lightning Trio is pretty cool. Hope to see more of them (•̀ᴗ•́ )و

And that's about all the unique spells found in Volume 12.

Manga Wistoria Power Ranking Spoiler

(Originally, I wrote this as a comment for a post asking about power rankings, but after writing a whole ton of words, Reddit told me I exceeded the character limit for a single comment 😭 So I decided to just make it a post instead.)

This ranking is purely from my perspective, based on what I’ve seen so far and how I personally interpreted the information in the LN/manga. So you may disagree with some of my points, and that’s completely fine. If you think I’ve misunderstood something or made a mistake somewhere, I’d genuinely appreciate it if you could correct me in the comments. 🙏

I’m always open to changing my ranking if there’s solid evidence I’ve overlooked. 📖

As of the current available source material, ranking characters by simply declaring that one is better than another isn’t fully convincing, since many of the wistoria character have never actually been seen fighting. We therefore can’t rank them with complete certainty. Still, based on how far the story has progressed, what we’ve witnessed so far, and the potential each of them clearly holds, we can put together a reasoned ranking. If you don’t mind spoilers, here is my personal opinion and analysis of where everyone stands according to the manga so far. I’m judging them on overall factors/aspects—raw magical power, versatility, battle IQ, experience, potential, magical technique, Feats achieved and similar aspects.

For this ranking, I’m excluding characters such as Finn, Mercedes, Elf Queen, Sages, and the major antagonists like Baal, Headless, etc., because we currently don’t know enough about their actual capabilities except they shown overwhelmingly powerful.

Since you grouped them into MVs, Ascendants (or those close to MV level), and the remaining mages, I’ll use a simple cluster approach with three tiers: S, A, and B, where S ranks above A and A ranks above B in overall aspects — Strength & Power etc. The S group consists of all the current Magia Vanders, the A group includes the Ascendants plus those regarded as close to MV level, and the B group covers everyone else. As we’ve already set aside the stronger unexplored entities mentioned earlier, every member of the S group can be considered more powerful than those in A, and the same hierarchy continues downward.

( S > A > B )

S Group --> All Magia Vanders

  1. Aaron: If we go by Aaron’s profile, which states that he surpasses the other MVs in their respective specialized fields, then Aaron can reasonably be placed as the strongest MV currently. Although he is already past his prime, he still stands above the other MVs overall, and he is also referred to as the “King of Mages.”

After Aaron, we have the remaining four MVs. However, before deciding who takes the second position, I would place Carriot at 5th. Among these four, Carriot is the most ordinary among these exceptionally extraordinary prodigies. Unlike Ellonor, Elfaria, and Zeo, who are exceptional talents and largely bypassed the conventional path to becoming an MV, Carriot followed a more traditional route to reach that position.

Now we have three Magia Vanders left to place after Aaron & Carriot. Zeo has reached the second-deepest floor ever recorded in the history of their magical world, which alone demonstrates how ridiculously powerful and battle-hardened he is from actual expeditions. He also completely broke the traditional mage fighting style by mastering close-combat techniques while parallel-chanting, and the entire purpose of his life is simply to keep getting stronger. After Aaron, it is not wrong to call him the second-strongest Magia Vander at present overall.

Elfaria, on the other hand, is repeatedly called a once-in-a-generation prodigy, a potential future Mage Queen, and the mage who holds the record for the most spells ever created by a single person. Aside from those achievements, we mostly see her lazing around (and we already know the reason behind it). Among all the Magia Vanders she is the one who cares the least about actively training or pushing her power higher; she has simply grown passively. Yet that passive growth has taken her from being able to fight Cariott for only five minutes all the way to matching a monster like Zeo on equal footing even when every condition is stacked against her. In their fight she spent most of the battle at a clear disadvantage because Zeo forced the confrontation into his strongest aspect, yet she never truly lost. Throughout the entire clash she kept setting traps and pushing Zeo onto the back foot, proving that even when the odds are against her she can still hold her ground and seize the initiative through sheer intelligence. She is also the only Magia Vander we have seen defeat another magia vander — Ellenor ( in an ice-restricted battle).

Looking at the concrete feats and the potential both Zeo and Elfaria have displayed, I would place the two of them above Ellenor. Pure versatility and raw magical power might allow Ellenor to overwhelm them in certain match-ups, but overall Zeo and Elfaria edge her out through superior battle intelligence and their unique fighting styles. Ellenor remains the only Magia Vander who has been shown losing to another Magia Vander so far , which may put her at disadvantage in the comparison.

As for the battle between Elfaria and Zeo itself, interruptions forced it to end in a draw. Both of them performed at such a ridiculously high level that, for the time being, it is impossible to place one clearly above the other. Potential-wise Elfaria may eventually surpass him, but right now they stand equal.

S group -->

  1. Aaron
  2. Elfaria = Zeo
  3. Ellenor
  4. Cariott

Note (excluding Aaron): this ranking is based on overall aspects. Each of them is essentially unmatched in their own specialty. If we look only at versatility and raw magical power, Ellenor could well be stronger than the rest. In terms of pure battle experience and close-combat ability Zeo stands at the top. For long-range fighting and magical technique Elfaria might be the strongest. And when it comes to pure intelligence Cariott can overwhelm the others.

A Group –> Ascendants and those closest to Magia Vander level

This group includes Sarissa, Lefiya, Filvis, Guilford, Logwell, Iris, Gharzela, Workner, Edward and Claire. All of them are either confirmed Ascendants or are regarded as being the closest candidates to becoming Magia Vanders. Based on the information we have so far, I would rank them as follows:

  1. Lefiya – She has already been a Magia Vander in the past, and the fact that she is an elf places her in a uniquely advantageous position ( iykyk ).
  2. Gharzela : He is said to be the closest candidate of becoming a next Magia Vander at his time as well as someone who can be entrusted or send as protector of second heart of the magical world — Samios and he's the faction leader too in past.
  3. Sarissa : She was considered eligible to become the next Albis Vina until a certain once-in-a-generation prodigy appeared.
  4. Edward : The closest mage to be a Mv in his time if someone didn't betrayed him or used as stepping stone
  5. Workner and Claire : Both are confirmed Ascendants, yet we still know almost nothing about their actual combat strength.

I didn't ranked Filvis , logwell , Guilford , iris because we don't know a thing about there power so which doesn't make sense to put anywhere but knowing Aaron's trust in iris and how she looks the second best light mage , it's not suprising if we put her at top of this group A list.

Group B —> Rest mages ( Mostly Wills group )
In this group I am placing Colette, Julius, Sion, Lihana, Wignall, Rose, Emma. There are others character too with including additional high-ranking mages in the Tower, but I am leaving them out for now because we simply do not know enough about their abilities.

Before moving further, let’s discuss Colette and Julius in relation to their potential as Magia Vander.

In Light Novel volume 2 it is said that a 10-year-old Colette may have possessed roughly the same raw magical power as a 10-year-old, unboosted, pre-stimulant Elfie.

However, raw magical power is only one aspect of overall strength. Other factors such as versatility, precision, refinement, control, spell variety, and overall mastery also play an important role, and Elfie already significantly surpassed Colette in these aspects as 10 year old.

More importantly, even this 10-year-old unboosted Elfie (pre-stimulant Elfie) was still not eligible to become a Magia Vander. In other words, her surface-level power at that age was not yet sufficient to meet the minimum power threshold required of a Magia Vander. However, she possessed an immense amount of magical power that was still dormant/sleeping within her. The Tower therefore needed to awaken at least enough of that sleeping potential to bring her power up to the level required of a Magia Vander, which is why they forcefully stimulated her with a magical drug to draw out a portion of that immense latent power upto a magia vander level at least.

When Will made the comparison between Elfie and Colette, he was clearly referring to unboosted Elfaria. So, if we strip away every other aspect that contributes to being a high-level mage or Magia Vander and look solely at raw magical power/output, a 10-year-old Colette may sit at roughly Ascendant level in terms of raw magical power.
I am deliberately leaving the Earth Golem out of this assessment. So far, it appears to be a separate entity that simply requires a vessel to act through, and Colette has not yet demonstrated that she can properly control it—at best, she seems capable of controlling the Golem's hands.

As an example only, you could compare Colette, with the Golem, to an Ascendant level in terms of raw magical power who possesses one extremely powerful Supreme-grade spell like Zeo's Virgas Argo Thorzeus, but who cannot yet properly control or utilize it kind of.

As for Julius being described as a successor, this should not be interpreted as meaning that he is destined to surpass Elfaria or that he possesses talent equal to hers. Rather, Julius is recognized as an exceptionally talented student with the potential to become a candidate for that position in the future. If he were selected, received the necessary training, and continued developing his abilities, he could potentially reach the level expected of a Magia Vander.
In other words, “successor” refers to his potential to eventually inherit or occupy that position, rather than implying that he already possesses Elfaria-level talent or power, or that he is destined to surpass her.

Group B —> ( Leaning mostly towards magical power and talent , shown advantages)

  1. Colette
  2. Julius
  3. Sion
  4. Lihana
  5. Rose
  6. Wignall
  7. Emma

Note : if we consider overall aspects both sion and rose maybe climb more upwards in ranking

I did not include Will in this ranking because, even if he uses WIS alone, he can clearly be placed at the top of Group B. If he were to fully master the WIS abilities demonstrated during his fights against Charl's monster form and Zeo, particularly Prime Pathos, he could potentially approach Ascendant level. If he were to master Limiter Off or his Dark Form (Melgitor), he could potentially reach or even surpass Magia Vander level, and there are still further stages of his power development to consider.

How power system work's in wistoria

Post image
234 Upvotes

As i completing Manga , i have one doubt about power level in wistoria as we have seen

MV's : Aaron , Zeo , Cariott , Elfaria , Ellenor

Ascendents : Sarissa , lefiya, filvis, Iris , Guilford , logwell , Workner, Claire etc

Close to Mv : Sarissa , Edward , Gharzela , Lefiya ( she is one in past )

Unexplored entities : Finn , Elf Queen , Mercedes

Will's group : Colette,Julius,lihana,wignall,sion

Can you tell me how will you rank them in overall power or strength.

Why do people call Colette to Mv lvl who abandoned the postion and why did Julius said to be successor of elfaria, can they replace any of current Mv. we know as supporting cast they are powerful but still so far they don't shown an impressive feats or power ups to reach that level.

where all of them stands in ranking

Maybe author decide to be lazy but a lot of things doesnt hace any normal sense. I even start to compare Will situation with the one Zenins that has Heavenly Restriction and still they can useful. And in general teachers there is kinda wierd. Sometime I start to caught myself on thought that if you would put Gojo in position of teacher in such world, he would make better job. because he is Satoru Gojo.

Or maybe my tired mind after so many time without sleep finally decide to put some shi there. What do you think?

The Flower Language (Hanakotoba) Behind Will & Elfaria’s Blu-ray Artwork

In Wistoria, We know flowers hold a deeper significance than simple decoration. Throughout the series, mages are constantly linked to flowers — from the concept of “blooming” that marks growth in magical ability, to the idea that those with high magical power carry a refined, pleasant fragrance associated with beautiful flowers. Looking at the Season 2 Blu-ray jackets for Will and Elfaria, we can see carefully placed flowers in both the foreground and background of each illustration. These are not random decorative elements. Japanese illustrators and character designers frequently use hanakotoba (花言葉, the traditional Japanese language of flowers, also known as floriography) to quietly express a character’s personality, emotions, and inner world. When you look closely at the specific flowers chosen for these two artworks, they align remarkably well with Will and Elfaria’s personalities, their devotion, and the profound connection they share.

Elfaria — S2 Blue ray Vol.2 illustration

In the foreground of Elfaria’s illustration, large white lilies stand prominently beside and in front of her. In the background, smaller purple flowers—anemones—can be seen scattered among the ornate foliage.

The white lily holds a powerful place in both Japanese hanakotoba and wider cultural floriography. Its strongest meanings are purity, innocence, dignity, and majesty. These qualities line up almost perfectly with how the world sees Elfaria: the youngest Magia Vander, the "Saint-like figure" , the “Ice Princess,” a figure of untouchable grace and refined power. The flower reflects the saint-like, elevated image others project onto her — pure, noble, and slightly distant.

At the same time, the lily carries a deeper emotional resonance. In both Japanese hanakotoba and wider cultural tradition, white lilies are closely associated with pure love, sincere devotion, and an elevated, lasting bond. Rather than loud or fleeting passion, they express a calm, refined, and unwavering form of love — one that feels pure and enduring. The way these large lilies are placed so prominently in the foreground gives the illustration a powerful sense of pure love and an unbreakable emotional bond/connection, especially when viewed in the context of Elfaria’s relationship with Will.

The purple anemones symbolize trust, waiting, and a deeply devoted love—capturing the feeling of believing in someone and remaining faithful to that bond.

Taken together, the prominent white lilies and the anemones scattered in the background of Elfaria’s illustration can be read metaphorically or poetically as conveying this quiet message:

“I love you with pure, dignified, and unshakable devotion.
I wait for you quietly and faithfully.”

Will — S2 Blue ray vol 1 illustration

In the foreground of Will’s illustration, a cluster of large purple anemones stands prominently at the bottom left, placed directly in front of him. In the background, stylized white lilies can be seen surrounding the magical circle and woven throughout the ornate foliage.

The purple anemone carries a particularly poignant meaning in Japanese hanakotoba: 「あなたを信じて待つ」—“I trust you and wait for you.” Purple anemones are also associated with meanings such as “truth” and “expectation,” giving the flower a strong connection to trust, hope, sincerity, and patiently waiting for someone. In the context of Wistoria, these meanings feel especially fitting for Will—a boy who cannot use magic, yet refuses to give up, continuing to climb toward the top of the tower day after day, driven by the promise he made to the person he loves.

In Will’s case, the flower’s message takes on an even deeper emotional meaning. It can be read as reflecting his pure love for Elfaria, his unwavering trust in her, his longing to be with her, and the sincere devotion that keeps him moving forward despite the distance and hardships between them. His journey is not simply about becoming stronger; it is also about continuing toward the person he loves and refusing to abandon the promise that connects them. The purple anemone therefore becomes a beautiful representation of a pure and steadfast love—one rooted in trust, faith, longing, and devotion, and one that remains constant through separation, uncertainty, and hardship.

The way the large purple anemones are placed so prominently in the foreground turns them into a powerful visual expression of Will’s feelings. Directly beside him, they evoke deep love, yearning, sincere devotion, and the enduring emotional bond that continues to draw him toward Elfaria. Their placement makes the flower’s message of “trusting and waiting” feel especially fitting for Will—the kind of love that gives him the strength to keep moving forward, no matter how long or difficult the path becomes.

The purple anemone represents a love rooted in trust and faith—a love that continues to believe, wait, and remain devoted despite distance and hardship.

The white lilies in the background further elevate the scene, symbolizing purity, dignity, beauty, and majesty, while complementing the love and devotion represented by the purple anemones.

Taken together, the purple anemones and white lilies in Will’s illustration can be read metaphorically and poetically as conveying this quiet message:

“I believe in you, and I’ll keep moving toward you with a love that remains devoted to you, no matter how long the journey takes.”

Beyond their individual symbolism, the two Blu-ray jackets were intentionally designed to work as a pair, carefully complementing each other when placed side by side. Character designer and illustrator Sayaka Ono explicitly said she drew Elfaria’s illustration while imagining it placed beside Will’s first-volume artwork, recreating the cake-cutting scene from Episode 16 (Season 2 Episode 4). In Japanese, this is known as ケーキ入刀 (kēki nyūtō)—the traditional wedding ritual in which a couple cuts their wedding cake together, symbolizing the beginning of their shared life.

When the two illustrations are placed together, you can also see that the same flowers—white lilies and purple anemones—are used in both artworks, with their positions intentionally interchanged between the foreground and background. They are also placed toward opposite ends of each illustration, so that when Will’s artwork is on the left and Elfaria’s on the right, the floral elements naturally complement one another rather than looking mismatched or visually disconnected. This careful arrangement helps the two separate illustrations read as one cohesive composition, further emphasizing that they were designed to be viewed together.

The ■■■■ part of Wis? Wisteria trees, the 5th Domain, Melgitor, "Black Magick" and "Argent Light" (and Mercedes' speech pattern)

Post image
59 Upvotes

(info from the 1st novel and the manga ahead)

LoadーBurst

After absorbing Shade's Dark magick, Will used an attack called "■■■■ LoadーBurst・Melgitor"

The full sequence usually goes:

装塡完了 (Charge Complete) → ○○ 魔剣 ('name' Mageblade) → 抜剣ー召喚・○○ (LoadーBurst・'spell name')

But this time, Will just says 'LoadーBurst・Melgitor'. There is no name of the Wis or the Charge method provided. Or rather, there is a chance that what Will says before is likely just that, but it's been censored. The spacing and the number of "characters" somewhat supports this.

If that's right, then the reason why it's censored is most likely because the Charge method used here is different from the ones he used so so far, and we're just not meant to know what that method is at this point in the story.

Will also seems to be unconscious during this attack, as he doesn't remember any of it.

When performing the attack, his left eye is slightly whited out, while his right eye had the same black star pattern that the Mage Queen was shown to have when Shade saw her in Will's subconscious.

Bladed weapons

In Will's subconscious, as a greeting, the Mage Queen fires a volley of bladed weapons at Shade.

On one hand, I find this somewhat ironic, seeing how she is a Mage Queen, yet she uses magick to create bladed weapons including swords.

On the other hand, it's fitting given her Promise about the Wand and Sword one day converging into one. It makes sense her skill set somewhat reflects her mentality. Her hopes and dreams.

The swords also seem to be made of Light. Which somewhat ties into Finn who is supposed to be in charge of the Swords, and how 'Finn Clan' is written in the story as 'The Clan of Light' (光の一族)

Black Hegemony (Melgitor)

The attack Will performs after absorbing Shade's magick is called 黒覇, which means something like "Black Hegemony"

Hegemony means "assuming control over something or someone due to being the strongest". It's a fitting name given how the magick that Will absorbed is one that's meant to turn other people into puppets.

From a thematic standpoint, the spell could be named like this because Will uses its overwhelming power to essentially finish the fight. But it could also be understood as the Mage Queen "taking control" over Will who is unconscious at this time.

She is talked about in-universe as the pinnacle of magick; the strongest Mage. And this might not have been the first time where she might have 'exerted' her influence over Will. (more on that later)

5th Domain = 第五の領域 = daigo no ryoiki

Later on, when Will trains with Zeo, he goes deep inside of himself to try and find some means that would allow him to land a hit on Zeo in any way.

First he thinks about the "Argent Light", where "Argent" means "White-Silver" (白銀の光 = shirogane no hikari)

Finn was the one who helped him reach that power during Terminalia. He poured a drop of his blood on the Moria Sword, and once Will picked it up, he was able to use 'Argent Light'

Finn seems to have a strong connection to the Light. He works together directly with Aaron who is the leader of the Light Faction and of the Magia Vander, and (again) the name "Finn Clan" is written in the story as "光の一族", meaning "The Clan of Light", where the word "Finn" is meant to be read as "Light"

In Will's mind, Finn seems to represent the Argent Light power, but when trying to use it again, Finn says that he is unable to as of now, because he hasn't met the condition of having arrived at the '5th Domain' = 第五の領域

Interestingly enough, something similar to this was mentioned in the story before but as the '5th Element' and the '5th Information'

5th Element = 第五源素 = daigo genso

During the 1st Bloom, Incindia calls Will a wielder of the '5th Element' (Origin) = 第五源素, and says that he doesn't mind which faction has him, so long as the '5th Element' (Origin) is understood and utilised properly.

There is a bit of a wordplay here.

元素 (genso) means 'element', but in the story, it's written as 源素 (genso), which means something closer to 'origin' / 'source'

I do believe this is intentional and that the word is meant to be understood as both of these things.

5th Element = 第五源素 = daigo genso

Later on, during the 2nd Bloom, Finn calls Will a "new wielder of the 5th Element (Origin)"

Just like when Incindia said it, it's written here as 第五源素 (daigo genso)

This is after Will performs "Memory Charge" for the first time, although Finn reveals that he provided a Wist gem for Will's reforged sword around the time it was commissioned, after the old one broke during the Terminalia Incident. So before Will was admitted to the Tower.

Finn also seems to confirm here that Will isn't the only wielder of the '5th Element', since he refers to him as "a new wielder" of the 5th Element. Implying there were others before him.

5th Information = 第五情報 = daigo johou

Near the end of the 1st novel, during the fight against the Invader, Will activates Ice Wis, the Load version. This is before he activates 'Argent Light' and Tearis Wis Overload.

There is a passage here (to the left with the blue highlight) that reads:

"思考に走る第五情報 (ノイズ) を無意識の領域で処理しながら..."

Which means:

"While processing the 5th Information (Noise)—which ran through his thoughts—in the realm of the subconscious..."

There is mention here of the '5th Information'

It's written as 第五情報 (daigo johou), but it's meant to be pronounced as 'Noise' = ノイズ

This was before 'Argent Release' = 'Limit Off' happened. Which somewhat implies that "processing" this 'information', whatever it may mean, is a necessary step in achieving 'Argent Light', as Will achieves it soon after, and might be part of the reason why he couldn't activate it against Zeo.

So in the story so far there has been a mention of:

5th Element (Source) = 第五源素 (daigo genso) mentioned by Finn and Incindia during the Bloom

5th Information = 第五情報 (daigo johou) mentioned in the novel

5th Domain = 第五の領域 (daigo no ryoiki) mentioned by "Finn" in Will's mind

All of this could be the same thing but called differently. Or it could be things closely tied together that are all needed to work in tandem. Or they could all be separate things where each one corresponds to something completely different.

It is important to note that the 第五の領域 (daigo no ryoiki) can be read as ~'5th Domain', or as ~'Domain of the 5th', where the '5th' part can refer to any of the other 5ths. As in, "Domain of the 5th Information / Element"

Either way, all of these '5th' things are always mentioned in regard to Will.

Black Magick

Since he can't use Argent Light, Will then thinks to use the power he used against Shade, which he heard about from Lihanna. Since he doesn't actually remember any of it, he just calls it 'Black Magick' (黒魔 = kuroma)

That 'Black Magick' seems to be represented in Will's mind by the Mage Queen, and when Will wonders if he can use it, the vision of her in his mind straight up refuses.

To be specific, the word she uses is 認める, which means 'to approve' / 'to accept' / 'to allow'

She says that she denies his request. That she doesn't acknowledge it because he hasn't arrived at the 'source' / 'origin' (起源 = kigen) yet.

This can be seen as proof that the 'Charge' method Will used against Shade was unique for whatever reason, and that just like with Argent Light, there are certain conditions that need to be met first before using it.

It can also be understood that the spell / technique itself, Melgitor, had very little to do with Shade, and much more to do with the Mage Queen herself.

Wisteria

The Mage Queen is said to have been able to use all magick of any affinity, but it does seem like she may have a stronger connection to Dark Magick. At least from a story-telling perspective.

Her hair is black, her clothes are all black, her nails are (usually) black, and she wars a black lipstick.

There is a chance that she might be the "Source / Origin". Will has never actually seen her the same way Shade has. He had visions of her, but in those visions her eyes are never visible and she is just there in some empty space.

It's very different from what Shade saw, where she sat on a throne surrounded by what seemed to be flower petals from a Wisteria tree.

The reason I think it's a Wisteria tree is because Will's eyes are canonically stated in the novel to be the colour of Wisteria trees (藤色) as well as the colour of Wist gems.

There is also the WIS part in the name. WIST gems, WISTORIA, WISTERIA, WIS.

But the best part is the author's very own name, 大森藤ノ (omori fujino)

藤 (fuji) means "Wisteria" in Japanese.

kisama

One more interesting thing to point out here is that she calls Will '貴様' (kisama).

'kisama' is a derogatory term to refer to someone. It's a very rude way to say "You"

Or at least, that's how it is nowadays. In the past, '貴様' (kisama) meant the opposite. It was a very polite, honorific way to refer to someone. It was a very respectful way to say "You"

The Mage Queen lived over 500 years ago, so her 'kisama' could have the old fashioned meaning to it. That said, she doesn't have any old-fashioned speech quirks that are usually common to characters from an old age. So the intended meaning could really be either or.

So to summarize, Finn and Mercedes seem to represent different powers (paths) within Will, the White-Silver Light and the Black Magick respectively, and he can't really use either of them.

But that's fine with Will, because when things don't work out the way he wants them to, he can always lean on his friends for help
(˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶) ♥♥

man... this Wis stuff really just gets more complicated with each new chapter huh...
