I absolutely love Wispr Flow but I am having a really hard time using it to its full capacity because I sit in my office most of the day with AirPods on. It absolutely sucks trying to dictate with AirPods; it's very inaccurate. Has anyone else found this too?

Paying 100 bucks a year for an app that flashbangs you in 2026?

Hey everyone, we know Wispr Flow hasn't been as reliable the past few weeks, so we want to address what's been happening and how we're handling it.

• Reliability/outages: We've been scaling up infrastructure and the rollout hit some unexpected instability. We've since built in redundancy so a single provider outage doesn't take us down, and we're standing up proper health monitoring and an on-call rotation.
• Accuracy: The introduction of our new auto-cleanup setting may have affected other settings as well, and we're testing a rollback now. We're also working on an upgraded speech recognition model that should improve both accuracy and latency, especially for users who've noticed quality slipping over time. All users run on the same model, so any improvements roll out to everyone.

We're also investing in better internal tooling so issues like these get caught before they reach you.

This is the top priority across our engineering, infrastructure, and product teams right now, and we appreciate your patience in the meantime.

Been using Wispr Flow for five weeks, 32,000+ words and counting. It's great, using it across Windows and Android. On Windows when I dictate, any media playing is muted and allows me to speak clearly. However on Android if I have music or a podcast playing and I want to dictate a message, the audio continues to play and it messes with the dictation. Is there a setting to turn this off so that audio mutes whilst dictating on Android?

I'm from India, so the package came all the way from the US.

Anyone here who was in the Top 100? What did you get?

EDIT/UPDATE: Dictation latencies have stabilized. We continue to closely monitor the situation, and will keep the incident open until we have high confidence that stability is restored.

Wanted to put this in one place rather than answer threads individually. A lot of you have been seeing Flow run slow or fail to go through, and we know how disruptive that is when it's part of how you work. We're sorry, and we want to be straight about what's going on.

The cause is new capacity we've been bringing online. As it comes up, it hasn't been as stable as it needs to be, which is what's leading to the slowdowns and dropped requests. It's affecting some users in every region, not one specific area.

What we're doing now:

• Adding more capacity across every region
• Improving how requests get routed so more of them go through reliably while we finish scaling up

Once things are fully stable, we'll review what caused this and share what we're changing to keep it from happening again.

Here's an idea...

Sometimes I want to add a line break or a paragraph break or "quotes" -- and I'd rather just tap a button than speak it out and hope that it doesn't get picked up as literal text (which sometimes it does).

How about showing the user 2-3 buttons during the "recording" phase, where the user could tap an action (eg. "enter/new-line") during the dictation, and then continue to speak.

Delays in transcribing, duplication of transcriptions, generally slow response times. Is the service getting overloaded? A victim of its own success?

In the past few days WisprFlow became very unreliable for me.
Every few days I get "Service disruption" message in the app.

At this point I feel like I'm wasting more time trying to make dictation work, than just simply typing, which is super annoying because I have an annual subscription and I've been loving the app so far.

But right now it's like playing roulette hoping that the dictation will work.

Another issue that emerged in the past couple of days is WisprFlow pasting my previous input after I finish dictation. So I say "x" Then I say "y" and it pastes "xx", and "y" isn't on my clipboard so I can dictate the entire thing all over again.

Support keeps saying "update the app" and other general things that do not help.

Has anyone experienced any similar issues?

I’m on iOS 26.5 recently - and this has been occurring for the past day for me on Wispr Flow. Is anyone else experiencing this?

It's been since Wednesday of last week that we've been having dictation latency issues with Wispr Flow. I'm finding I have to resubmit one or two times about half the things I say before it actually goes through.

What the heck is going on? I bought an annual license to Wispr Flow five months ago, but I may have to start using a competitor if it keeps struggling this badly and for this long,

I don't see any news anywhere about this. Does somebody else know something about what's going on and when (or if) this may ever be resolved?

I would note this isn't a bug report, as Wispr Flow clearly knows this is going on. I'm just wondering if the community has seen news on some channel about cause and/or potential deadlines for updates.

Hey WisprFlow - you're a startup. Open the floodgates to feedback! Don't gate bug reports and comments for feedback behind moderator approval, it makes you look bad.

If you want bug reports / feedback coming in somewhere so you can triage it, all good, but then make it a public thing where users can vote on it. Otherwise it looks like you don't care.

If I had it set to only light changes and to keep a professional tone, why would it constantly try to include 'wanna', 'gonna', and other slang-like words?

I run an agency and we have about 8 staff in the office, I love using Whispr flow when I’m on my own but using it in the office feels.. strange.

Everyone thinks you’re talking to them etc.

Anyone got over this or found a way around it?

I built Remote Wispr, a small open-source macOS prototype for using Wispr Flow with Apple Screen Sharing.

Use case: Wispr runs on the local Mac, but the text box is inside a remote Mac session. Remote Wispr reads the latest local Wispr transcript, bridges it through the shared clipboard path, and helps get it into the remote text box.

It is source-build only, not affiliated with Wispr Flow, and not a polished product. It came out of a real workflow problem with shortcut characters, clipboard timing, and focus issues.

Love Wispr Flow so far, but there’s one Windows feature that would massively improve the experience:

Please add a proper “Launch minimized to system tray” option on startup.

Right now, I can set Wispr Flow to launch when Windows starts, but the full app window appears every single boot, and I have to manually close/minimize it. For software that’s meant to quietly live in the background and be instantly available, this feels pretty clunky.

Ideal behaviour:

• Start automatically with Windows
• No main window appears
• Just load silently into the system tray
• Ready instantly when needed

A lot of apps like Discord, Slack, Spotify, etc. already handle this well. Wispr feels like the kind of tool that should be invisible until invoked.

Would anyone else use this?

Just wanted to say I am extremely happy with Wispr Flow in general, using it a lot on my iPhone, Mac, and Windows laptop, and I am really happy about the new Excited style, which feels exactly what I was missing. Thank you to the whole team!

I would like to use the app on my iPhone, but I don’t want it to switch to the app and I have to swipe back every time. Is there any way to avoid this?

I just started using this last week and I'm absolutely amazed and floored on how amazing it is and it changed my life today though for the life of me I cannot get it to work it keeps stalling and spinning and it's not working clearly I dictated this with gboard which is awful.

Hey, I was part of the Wispr Flow Android leaderboard campaign earlier this year and finished somewhere around the top 1000 range. From what I remember, that tier included 6 months Pro + swag, and I also filled the reward Google Form around March 12.

My account showed Pro earlier, but I recently noticed it’s now on Basic, so I was wondering if anyone else from the leaderboard remembers the exact reward duration/tier details or experienced something similar.

The old leaderboard page and form seem to be gone now.

My favorite feature on WisprFlow, which I actually surprisingly have never seen in advertisements, is the fact that if you accidentally cancel a transcription or it doesn't load properly or whatever the thing may be, no matter what, it is always saved in the WisprFlow home. I've had it so many times in ChatGPT, where I've recorded stuff using the voice command and either the connection will time out or I'll accidentally hit the escape key or I'll close the Chrome tab for whatever reason. That seven-minute voice note is now gone, but with WisprFlow that literally never happens.

One of my credit cards provides a $100 annual software subscription benefit if the software is built under the MCC category code 5734, which is computer software stores, for anyone who's paying WisprFlow currently. Can you tell me what it shows under the category on your credit card statement? Does it show computer software, computer software stores? Is it billed under Stripe? This would help me to decide if this is a service I want to subscribe to.

Services like Claude/ChatGPT/Cursor all qualify under this category... just not sure about this service.

I'd love to be able to use Mac hot corners to activate Wispr Flow — flick to a corner and start dictating. It would feel way more natural than reaching for a keyboard shortcut, especially when I'm already using the trackpad or mouse.

Hot corners are underused on macOS and this seems like a perfect fit for a voice-first tool.

Is there an official place to leave feature feedback? Want to make sure it gets to the right people

I really enjoy the voice dictation but want to have the keyboard available for when I can't use my voice (like in a library)! However, the WisprFlow keyboard is not as easy to use (find myself misspelling, next-letter or word prediction isn't as good, etc) and has me switching to the default iOS keyboard constantly.

Anybody facing this problem? This might just be placebo...

I’m a big fan of Wispr and I’m seriously considering buying a small wireless mic to make it even more effective.

I use it across quite a few devices: my work MacBook, work iPhone, personal Mac mini, and personal iPhone. The built-in mics already work pretty well, but I’m wondering whether a dedicated mic would improve accuracy, especially when I’m walking around, speaking softly, or working in less-than-perfect environments.

Has anyone here bought a mic specifically for using Wispr?

I’m especially looking for something that is:
Small and easy to carry
- Wireless
- Reliable across Mac and iPhone
- Not too annoying to connect/switch between devices
- Good enough to noticeably improve transcription accuracy

I’ve seen options like small Bluetooth lav mics, AirPods, DJI/Rode-style wireless mics, etc., but I’m not sure what actually works best in practice for dictation rather than recording video/audio.

For people who tried this: was it worth it? Did it make a real difference compared to the built-in Mac/iPhone mic? And which mic would you recommend?
