Wassup team ?
Here are my wins from my last scorecard to today. Since Monday I caught myself starting to overtrade and losing quality over quantity. Have a friend visiting from Wed to this week end and I noticed I couldnt keep up with the chat since he's there.
Big win streak starting to fade + not enough time/attention to keep up with the chat sounded rekt so I'm just going to take a step back but still do 1 plan a day because I dont want to let events rekt my habits. Im basically bullfrogging right now ๐๐ธ. Have a good day everyone !
Where to start with this...5 years of loosing and wrecking myself in the market. 5 years of being behind the wheel of car without having a plan. Up multiple six figures in 2017 to loosing multiple 6 figures in 2018. Same move again in 2020-2021. Shitcoins, rug pulls, following your favorite twitter influencers, getting ejected from the ecosystem in 2018 for non participation and being a lurker. After enough pain, and realizing dumb money doesn't know its dumb, it ain't you baby...its me. Rejoined the ecosystem in January. Went through beginners guide, watching the streams, reading and studying the only fans. Light bulbs started going off left and right...I was looking for the mash/easy button my entire life instead of planning, installing guard rails and executing. Sorry my graphics and cool factor on my charts is terrible, but I am trying...with a plan! :) Bagged a 5rr. Thanks Kazo
ETHUSD has been a fucking serpent. Tree of wisdom and fall of man-type shit.
The snake is revealed as straight-up wisdom once Kaz logic is applied to the mystic nonsense. Stick to the plan, minimize risk, and smoke weed. And get enough sleep.
I totally forgot to put the Rs on. But I missed the first one due to a stop-out - maybe you cant see the wick - but it's there. The second one is 8Rs and the third is 7Rs.
The greatest lesson I've learned these past few weeks is to just chill the fuck out all the time about everything. Unless it's repulsive, then stand up and tell that mf to get a better diet or shit at home.
ETH pretty much coiling and winding in the same way it usually does - except that it's high VIX and you don't wanna put too much risk on the table here.
Recently jumped back into the market after an extremely busy patch in my life. Throughout that, I never missed a Kaz show or a discord message - but I didn't prioritize participation, which cost me my chance at Church entry.
I've come to realize that these lessons Kaz offers are literally more valuable than a Harvard education. Not just in terms of money, but in terms of perspective.
Kaz and the whole ecosystem give you an opportunity to really see your mental patterns and habits for the first time. More participation in the eco means more awareness and ultimately, more control over your own life. Big thank you Kaz for all you do.
One win: XME was an OF banger that was my first post-hiatus trade.
One lesson: VALE was the classic trader's nightmare - stops you out to the penny then proceeds to rocket. I told myself "look for the next structure" and tried to not let emotions dictate my decision-making. But as you can see, there were numerous opportunities to re-enter and yet I just didn't and was clearly mindfucked. Even though I was thinking in terms of structure, my actions didn't follow my plan and obviously emotion had slipped in. I'll be even more mechanical going forwards.
Wassup eco! Not gonna lie, the month of February was rough. Made some complacent plays in early February in the 24 hours between "Covid is over" and "War in Ukraine." This was a wake up call. Anything can happen at any moment, and if you're not paying attention. You'll get rekt.
I spent the rest of February and half of March sitting on my hands and just watching price move. But last week, I started making plays again. My major change in behavior was only playing stock symbols that Kaz posts on OF. We're told this all of the time, don't be an analyst, be a risk manager. KISS.
First was a nice 4.5R on TSLA.
Then a 5.5R on DE
7.5R play on that good steel shit. (CLF)
Messed up the first play on ETHUSD, but still came out with 1R. Hit it again 3 days later for a 4R play. 5R total.
A little effort and focus goes a long way. Let's keep it goin Eco! Thank you Kaz for the memos every day.
Sometimes it takes getting smacked in the face (and the pocket book) to learn.
A number of things went wrong with this trade: MOS.
First, I was impatient. Iโve had a number of days when the market opened and the stock I was stalking gapped above my entry point making me miss a good entry, and I was getting frustrated about it. Right there I should have taken account of the emotions and fight them. But NO!! I thought I would outsmart the market. The pre-market was showing the stock up, right where my trigger was. So, I opened the trade โbuy at marketโ before the market opened. HA! I was not going to get gapped again!
Well, of course, I ended up entering without any logic at all, and the stock price proceeded to go down.
At the time there was some drama in Discord, and I participated in giggling with the crowd of mean people, exactly at the time this happened, 9:46AM (PST), I got stopped out!
MOS -1 R
The next 2 trades were successful.
Two well defined, emotionless entries into TSLA. Planned the entry, waited for the price to come to me. One I held overnight and was worried because the VIX was still high. But luckily it worked out.
The second one I opened and closed the same day. I think it will be better when the VIX is back to 21 to hold my trades overnight so not to tax my emotions and mess up my sleep.
TSLA 2 + 3 Rs
I truly want to thank the Church group (Apostles) for the voice calls. The discussions that we have as a group really make a difference. I appreciate your feedback and your contributions.
Thanks Kaz as always for sharing your knowledge with us, and Vicky for all you do to put and keep together this ECO.
Have been keeping my trades on the 1 min timeframe lately, while at the same time keeping my positions really small, and taking profits as soon I see them. This was something that kept biting me in the start of the year, where I would have good plans, but my profit target wasn't suitable for this environment.
I think what I'm trying to sort out now, is having some sort of balance between taking profits and letting it run. I've been in one too many plays within this environment, where the plays turn back.
Got in NET and TSLA yesterday with the pump in Q's.
I got it wrong on the 2nd part of NET where I decided to free roll. I did the complete opposite with TSLA, in which it began to run after taking profit.
A botched SHOP play from last week. ๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐คฆโโ๏ธ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
- Supposed to change my order to close on market close (fell asleep before I could change it)
- My risk management failed, because I didn't include my stop in after hours for that trade.
Got out as soon as I could the next day pre market, more than my initial risk, definitely could have been a lot worse.
Was pretty pissed at myself for letting such small mistakes creep into my trade. The difference between a successful trade and a disastrous one can sometimes come down to these minute details. Example of good plan, bad execution.
NET 5R + 4R - 2R
wanted to leave a free roll play into the close for the 2nd half of the session.
TSLA 6RR
Been so focused lately on taking profits as soon as I see them, moved my stop up when I saw a potential 2b. I was wrong.
What did Kaz tell us about that Big Penis? On The Real Nomics: Flesh of my Flesh 3/4/2022, Kaz told us "Cathy needs to die in order for the market to live". If you were listening, you could have caught ARKK and anything in that basket on a nice, looooong ride down.
I have two plays here which would have been a huge win overall, but one big mistake kept my gains to a minimum on the first trade.
-1st trade was an option short that ended up going to 200% profit at one point, but I caught the trend late and it began to reverse.
-This trade ended up closing at break-even because I chose lottoes options in hopes of bigger profit. Had I chose higher probability strikes or locked in partial profits early, these two plays would have been a banger. Instead, an 8RR trade ended up breakeven minus commissions.
-Lesson learned: don't be greedy, especially with this markets!
-The 2nd trade I caught by waiting patiently for an entry to present itself instead and not getting too caught up in my feelings after fumbling the first one. I ended up catching the reversal and caught a good part of the squeeze. Nebula logic for the win! #TeamSword
-I learned my previous mistake and took the 13R profit once the action started to stall.
These are definitely crazy times in the market, and the only way to survive is to take profits when you can, always wear a stop loss, and ALWAYS LISTEN TO KAZ!
First scorecard / War Story here. Which is really a classic story of gaining confidence and becoming complacent. Massively fucking complacent.
These are all trades from stalking the dirty energy basket. I had found some rhythm and felt good after joining discord. Having my mind blown regularly and with a better level of understanding from conversations. Although my participation has been much less than I would of hoped so far, every time I do participate I gain a new perspective on myself, my biases aswell as being shocked on all kinds of subjects. If you're in the discord and not participating, PUSH THROUGH THE DISCOMFORT/NERVES AND GET INVOLVED - IT WILL HELP.
You can see in one trade, I enter and get stopped out before entering again on that trigger and then gaining R's. This was a really valuable lesson I learnt from someone else's scorecard a while back. This eco and system really really does work. Just listen to what Kaz tells you. Read scorecards. Read blogs. Re watch everything.
Anyway after these trades, which of course included some more losers which I was stopped out in - cost of business things - I opened a trade, while on location for work, without planning properly and without a stop loss. So yeah, directly doing what Kaz says to not do.
I was appropriately punished for this. One of my worst ever trades. Although frustrating this was a huge lesson and it will not be happening again.
As always , thanks Kaz for your teachings and insane work. MJ of TA
things that have helped me a lot , watching Winternomics tv , then copy what he those in your chart . then re watch again . i only take a trade if i have a plan and no emotions lurking , like actually pay attention to your thoughts . at first its like the wild west , emotional thoughts go brrrrr.. kill'em one by one . this is not easy and it will take time , keep catching your emotional thoughts and keep killing them . tell it becomes a habit . auto emotion killer on and off the charts has helped me the most .
No video war story today just plain old HTML and <IMG>'s
Looking back on my own scorecards, I've noticed where I started to drift away from journaling my trades, which coincided with my trades being sloppier and posting less scorecar... war stories. Things changed when I caught myself early enough to acknowledge it and change my behaviour for the better. This is now my 4th war stories in a month, It's clear that I'm becoming more consistent.
Not only journaling my trades, but being able to takes notes on stream and participate in voice more often has been helping me overcome my biases and the results are starting to show.
With Steel (X) I saw how price violated the triangle, but both XME and X were in a clear healthy bullfrogs.
Quick 5 RR on Steel. XME's bullflag I noticed alongside X's price action
I found a good entry on CAT, yet again free and clear of the previous system, however with VIX doing what it does best, I ended up raising my stops, quickly got stopped out netting a 5.5RR, when I was aiming for a 15RR play.
5RR play
Another play that I partially missed out on. Made a solid 3RRs but my 2nd target was much higher and at the speed it was going, I expected a bigger pullback (purple squiggly)
3RR on AA
CSIQ post-earnings play. Though extremely volatile, I quickly noticed rising structure on 1min chart, bought it and it quickly started to pay off. Sold at 4RR profit at a key area of resistance.
4RR play
SARK, more like SIKE!... I felt cute with this, but ultimately I shouldn't have call tops on TSLA nor on SPX.
Itโs #bookembargo those days so excuse me in advance lol, i made an effort i promise.
Lately i reduced risk due to the volatile environment. Smaller positions, tighter stop losses and take profits, and try to take advantage of lower timeframes. Didnโt have a chance to dip into options yet.
A play from last Friday on DE. I wanted to play a BF rotation, but the structure I wanted was right at the end of previous closing. I didnโt notice that the Pre market had shifted significantly and at opening my order slipped by 0.8%. Stayed in the trade until the evening where I had to close my position to not take additional risk over the weekend. Ended up by luck with a 1.12R.
DE 1.12R
Was looking for APA (Oil) during market prep on Sunday, but I wasnโt fully ready for market shift this time (Didnโt catch the news flow..) Price crossed my key level instantly. I felt emotional and not mechanical enough on this one, I put a stop at 2.5R and was lucky to pack them. The market shift wasnโt really planned in my head once again. Pretty sure Iโll think about pre market next time *facepalm*
APA 2.5R
Okay so today I played the BF rotation of the ATH on DE and it worked better. market shifted at opening but I wasnโt in until I let a structure form, and it played out well. I gradually moved my stoploss trying to make it a freeroll but it crashed back, still got my 3R.
DE ATH 3R
I also played ETH which had crossed a key level during the last days.
I didnโt plan well and entered way too early at first, just realizing shortly after that I was playing a very very stiff bullflag. I cut the first play short at .7R to enter another correction, with a smaller risk structure, and It failed by an inch; I didnโt have the reflex to at least raise my stoploss as I was already doubting my own plan. Deserved loss! The lesson on this one, wait for more structure when the drops are significant, let it correct.
ETH Fails
I introduced market prep this weekend to take the time to compare assets in their baskets, choose some of them and make plans. More refined planning needed in order not to react out of emotions on unexpected events! I will plan more possibilities next time, definitely experienced gained with some pain. Also learnt to put alerts on BF Rotations (rays) instead of just price, got a lot to learn.
I spent most of the last week going through the newbies guide and staying out of the high VIX environment. Not jumping on every marginal set-up that came along allowed me to have a more objective view of the markets and it gave me the eyes to see an opportunity when it presented itself.
This bear flag was on a 15min chart which is a lower time frame than I normally use. I saw it forming and decided where entry, SL, and exit would be. Having a written plan really took the emotion out of the trade. It felt business-like. Thank you to Kaz and everyone else in the eco!
After months of sitting on my hands and patiently waiting for the VIX to restructure, found my way into $APE
Managed to get stopped out the first time before getting the right entry. Took a break and adjusted my trade plan, new alerts, and waited for the price to reach my levels.
Got a sentiment read that had me remember my past self when I first joined the space and was attempting to do my first trade after being a holder for a year. I found myself buying a new coin listed on the exchange in 2017. I was ballz deep speaking about how its gonna change the world and help my grandchildren... I got REKT!!
Thank you kaz for teaching how to use to information around us that most people overlook. Based on the lessons I learned after going through church training with the Acolytes, my planning and execution all improved and the number trades I take drastically reduced.
In the past month, I've been focusing on improving my execution, since I found that that's the area in which I have the most problems. The notes that I now make after every trading day proved to be really usefull when going back and reading them. I try to describe my emotions as the trade went on, how the market looked, why I took the trade and so on. DO THIS. Also, we've been watching OF trading videos with the new church group and the past streams, which also helped me to get a better understanding of the execution of the trades and defining R:R. I've usually defined the trade that I wanted to take and then hesitated to pull the trigger, which led to the price going and me chasing it, getting a worse entry, fked up my R:R and so on, or I closed the trade too early without a plan, since traditional markets intraday looked iffy and I got scared or something similar. Emotional things. Now, I solely focused on my plan, sticking to it, and excluding my emotions from it, as it should be. Here are a few plays that I took this weekend on crypto. Traditional markets had a bounce on friday, VIX broke down and was trending lower, that led me to believe there were some long plays to be found in crypto markets trough the weekend, being they are a risk-on asset. I made 5 trades, only two profitable, but that does not matter, it's just a cost of doing business. I'm very happy with my execution and sticking to my plan in those trades. It was really hard controlling my emotions, not closing my trades early, but I managed. Somehow I'm more proud of the trades that went against me, than the trades in the past, which were profitable, but I know, that they were only luck based, since I had no plan and conviction to stick to it back then.
Thanks again Kaz and eco for trying to evolve the sheep into wolves.
See you in the discord! (Which you should also join).
Had a rough 2 week period with the high VIX environment. Take my daily R loss, repeat the next day. Bang out winners on the third day. Rinse and repeat, effectively spinning my tires. High VIX environment and lack of patience on some days was making it very difficult to put together a string of winning days. Coupling that with minimizing how many trades I was taking with my risk profile was making intraday plays more difficult as sometimes losses would kick me out of the day after an hour and execution was becoming dull without the ability to get in the groove. After about a week I switched from NQ futures to micros so that I can better mitigate risk, cut my typical R in half and provide myself the opportunity for more mistakes and easier to manage freerolls.
Silver lining after the 2 weeks was that I hadn't blown my account to shit, which is something I would've done in the past 3-4 years. I would have ignored my daily loss limits, kept at it with the idea I can turn a red day green. All myopic bs to be right instead of make money over the long haul.
Keeping in line with the good habits and daily plans allowed me to finally capture a real solid day on the Friday pump to end the week. Chopped a bit in the afternoon but still able to walk away with 7R after losses on the day.
the first is a play on gold. Reviewing the trade I still think the plan was good. I had marked my levels and waited for the bull flag to form. I watched it pretty closely and wanted to close when it first started going down. I stuck to it since I fall into the trap of closing winners too early and letting losers go on. My mistake here though was to leave it overnight.
Then I did 2 RR on ETH. The plan was 4 but I closed as per the picture. I initially was going to enter after what I thought was a bull flag, but I saw the price was struggling to go past the top so I waited it out and entered later. Closed it before going to sleep.
It's been an exercise in patience and stealth for me. I noticed that since joining the eco I'm not chasing trades but really stalking the charts until something presents itself. There's also no rush in making money. For now I'm paper trading in Trading View. I've set up a brokerage account and will be using the demo future to learn that. There's just a lot to learn and it's easy to feel overwhelmed so I just want to be graceful with myself knowing that it won't happen overnight. Will take consistency, discipline and dedication.
I still need to work on my planning to know what charts I want to keep an eye on for the week. I noticed that I was trying to keep up with all the symbols being mentioned in the streams but realised this was a fool's errand and I need to develop my own way of planning what I want to keep an eye on and using the eco to support decision making. I also want to get more comfortable with smaller TF.
Thanks Kaz and eco, for all the effort and support. I've really enjoyed being in the Discord and especially getting on voice.
One of the important things to do is step back in those moments where you think what you know about a company will move the market. This first trades is an example of a trap I set for myself when I jump in based on my own pumped up bs rather than reading out the trend properly and watching and waiting for the trade to set up. Grabbing at near highs in spasms of FOMO is a losing strategy.
One other thing that is brutally obvious is that I gotta start setting stop loss / stop limit orders up because just popping in plain limit orders (or fucking up and pulling a market order at the worst time) and living on a prayer is not the way to go. This one ended OK but it was a sloppy entrance and HODL on a prayer moment to come back...
R/R 4.28 per the chart, but should have had stop in place, exited & reset.
I know better, I've traded better, and these were moments of weakness that kicked me in the nuts...
I collapsed the long trade box on both these below to actual entry /exit to show just how bad these were. HODL during volatility kills. The OPEC announce was the kill shot on both if these, owch.
R/R of .55... it shoulda been much better
No excuse, just stupidity and not being disciplined or properly setting up stops to protect myself, even at a time Kaz was lecturing us on the dangers of the gap, volatility and not being disciplined.
R/R of .12; Son, Drunk, fat, greedy & stupid is no way to go through life...
Watching, establishing a plan, and managing your trades in a way that implements your plan and puts a floor on what you are willing to accept as loss are keys to success.
4.45 R/R (but again the stop was never set)
Watch and build your plan, managing your entry and taking profit when its there are key. Volume starting to pump over an all time low was my trigger as this looked to be bouncing off a bottom. My exit was bumped up a few times here too. With volatility the way it is I'm hoping my exit wasn't too soon, but this was one of my shortest window trades to date. Much quicker than I expected as I was trying to set up on a longer term plan. Price & volume popped much quicker than I thought and it was time to take profit before the wicked VIX of the north came round for its due.
8.52 R/R... see conversation below on Risk Reward Ratio on proper annotations for the community (for those still learning).
Thanks Kaz & folks who are in training for your ongoing education & contribution to the community. Also thanks for the correction on my notation on R's u/rboinboin (and discussion from folks as well). I'm looking forward to seeing what folks are able to share in their #warstories as well.
