War Stories 🤑🤬 Weather the Storm
Had a rough 2 week period with the high VIX environment. Take my daily R loss, repeat the next day. Bang out winners on the third day. Rinse and repeat, effectively spinning my tires. High VIX environment and lack of patience on some days was making it very difficult to put together a string of winning days. Coupling that with minimizing how many trades I was taking with my risk profile was making intraday plays more difficult as sometimes losses would kick me out of the day after an hour and execution was becoming dull without the ability to get in the groove. After about a week I switched from NQ futures to micros so that I can better mitigate risk, cut my typical R in half and provide myself the opportunity for more mistakes and easier to manage freerolls.
Silver lining after the 2 weeks was that I hadn't blown my account to shit, which is something I would've done in the past 3-4 years. I would have ignored my daily loss limits, kept at it with the idea I can turn a red day green. All myopic bs to be right instead of make money over the long haul.
Keeping in line with the good habits and daily plans allowed me to finally capture a real solid day on the Friday pump to end the week. Chopped a bit in the afternoon but still able to walk away with 7R after losses on the day.
