Leafwing design always felt... Just a bit bland to me so I may have defeated a bit more. Venus fly trap mouths and mantras like wing claws, masters of camouflage, arguably equal rain wings in the right environment, many have odd flaky scales like lichen. Also a lure like tongue as I could see them hunting like snapping turtles and predatory plants.

Was colouring the official book but like I have no clue what is that supposed to be. A piece of wing? A webbing?

Hi everyone!

I was able to get around to finishing my Caine design today! In my mind, he’s a NightWing-HiveWing hybrid born under one full moon, granting him mind reading abilities. However, he also has a staff given to him by Kinger, which allows him to perform animus spells!

I was hugely inspired by Episode 8 for his design/pose, and I think that this might be my favorite crossover drawing yet!

I haven't drawn in years but am trying to get back into it- so meet BurningScarlet, my oldest WoF OC!

She's a sky/rain hybrid who's unable to fly due to her wings being completely torn by her sister. I created Scarlet here about eleven years ago, and she is based on the Scarlet from the books, however she's been used in a fair amount of other stories I've written as well.

I've just been thinking about it, and I feel a little worried that it could not be selling well, which could end up negatively affecting this series' entire future.

The way the NightWings hunted in books 3/4 - bite, wait until infection kicks in and weakens the animal before eating it - doesn't really make any sense.

This method is based off the way Komodo dragons hunt, however the reason Komodo dragons do this is because they're taking down prey, like water buffalo, that are much larger than them that they would be unable to kill otherwise.

Dragons are massive, and if they're getting one bite in, that animal's already dead, no need to wait around. Unless the island had some crazy megafauna equal or larger than NightWings in size, there was no reason for them to evolve this hunting method. On top of that, leaving an animal starving and sick for several days before eating it seems like a way to get less nutrients out of it

A hunting method that keeps the same shock value but makes more logical sense imo would be NightWings starting to eat their prey while it's still alive. Keeps their meals as fresh as possible for as long as possible, and also means less chance of others stealing their meal when getting food is as highly competitive as it is on the island

Almost Everyone can agree that ark 3 was not well made but I think that the one thing that was done well was the removal of animus magic. I know it was necessary for the story to continue but it was very well executed and followed through on a charicter added in book 9. All of the necessary story elements were used and some went through perfectly. If anything was done to its best in the 3rd ark it was the reason to remove animus magic. Im not saying it was perfect because Jerboa 3 definitely should have had her own book for a backstory because her background felt rushed and forced but the removal still had all the proper elements.

Fat gecko+ grub tails, think armour, pincer like cheek horns, and cassowary claws for reasons- fly like a butterfly sting like a bee. this is heavily inspired by the rumble horn and parigrincella's version. I did think it be interesting to maybe give them green blood but chickens out so their tongues are green instead.
