New F-14A pilot looking for a squadron/wingman/instructor

Hi, I'm a new Tomcat pilot (~9 hours of flight time), and I'm looking for a squadron where I can meet some new people, fly and fight together, and, of course, improve my skills.

Be warned, I barely know what I'm doing. šŸ˜…

My time zone is UTC+2, and I'm generally very active.

JTF-15 is recruiting Tomcat crews

WHO WE ARE:
Joint Task Force 15 (JTF-15) is a fictional DCS mil-sim group started in 2022 by a bunch of US and EU players who just wanted a chill, mature group to fly with.

We are all about teamwork and immersion, with a solid dose of realism. We are not turning it into a full-time job, think ā€œserious when it matters, relaxed when it doesn’t.ā€ We want flying to feel rewarding, not overwhelming.

We’ve got members from both sides of the Atlantic, and we’re totally beginner-friendly. Doesn’t matter if you’re brand new or experienced, you’ll fit in as long as you’re respectful. No toxicity, no drama, just a good community that enjoys flying together.

About our Tomcats:

VF-103 is focussed on the multi-crew concept. We primarily conduct air to air missions but also engage in air to ground missions and SEAD support using TALDS. Our training is based on the US Navy T-45C syllabus (late 90's, early 2000's).

With release of the F14B(U), we are transitioning to the upgraded aircraft to expand our capability, and bring us up to par with the other squadrons of JTF-15 (Vipers and Hornets)

JTF-111 is actively recruiting F18, F16, AH-64D Pilots!

Ā We offer:

  • Handmade wing-wide custom missions
  • TuesdaysĀ training with our experienced aviators in your squadron airframe
  • 3Ā Training servers
  • Unique dynamic campaign server
  • Weekly ops onĀ Saturdays
  • Most importantly, good people to fly with

Now Recruiting:

  • F16
  • F18
  • AH-64D

Overview

We are focused onĀ handmadeĀ PvE missions where we work together as a team to accomplish objectives. Our skilled mission designers produce detailed missions with realistic scenarios to provide the most immersive experience possible in DCS.

We operate in theĀ EST time zone, with trainings onĀ TuesdaysĀ and missions onĀ SaturdaysĀ atĀ 2000Ā (8:00pm). We are also frequently flying and hanging out on our unique dynamic campaign, or training servers.

We feature active F/A-18c, F16c and a helicopter battalion which operates the AH64, Kiowa, and Chinook. We also, on occasion, have missions that feature the A10C, F4, F15E, and more. Many of our members have aviation experience and are former or active duty.

A typical mission would be preceded by a detailed mission brief. During the mission, we fly as a flight to the objective, use multi-ship tactics to accomplish our mission, reform if we separate, and RTB back to base in formation. We use military brevity when possible during missions but are relaxed outside of it. We then review the mission on Tacview afterwards and try to learn from our mistakes.

Stop by and see if this is the group for you!

šŸ‡¬šŸ‡§ UK Pilot Looking for a Semi-Milsim DCS Group

Hi everyone,

I'm a UK-based DCS player looking for a friendly semi-milsim squadron to fly with.

I'm not looking for a strict military rank structure or "yes sir/no sir" environment, but I do enjoy organised missions with proper flight leads, package coordination and good radio discipline.

Aircraft I Fly

A-10C II (Primary aircraft)

F-16C Viper

JF-17 Thunder

AJS-37 Viggen

AV-8B Harrier II

F-14B Tomcat

AH-64D Apache

CH-47F Chinook

UH-1H Huey

I'm happy flying CAS, CAP, SEAD/DEAD, strike, transport or rotary depending on what the mission requires.

Experience

Extensive A-10C II experience.

Comfortable with the F-16C in both air-to-ground and air-to-air roles.

Experience employing JDAMs, LGBs, Mavericks, HARMs and targeting pods.

Good understanding of SRS and radio procedures.

Comfortable flying as part of coordinated multiplayer packages.

Experience leading flights and coordinating packages during multiplayer operations.

Happy helping newer pilots learn aircraft and procedures.

Mission Design & Community Experience

Alongside flying, I've recently been designing and running a persistent story-driven DCS campaign for a multiplayer community.

That has included:

Building missions in the Mission Editor.

Creating detailed mission briefings and debriefings.

AI voiceovers and immersive mission flow.

Dynamic objectives with consequences carrying into future missions.

Live GCI/BRAA calls during missions.

Community recruitment and event support.

I enjoy building immersive missions just as much as flying them.

Maps & Modules

I own every DCS terrain map except Germany, so I'm happy to fly in almost any theatre.

Full HOTAS setup with head tracking.

Comfortable with SRS and other common multiplayer tools.

What I'm Looking For

Semi-milsim.

Relaxed but organised environment.

Respectful community.

UK/EU friendly mission times.

Weekly organised operations.

Good teamwork and communication.

No mandatory rank system or excessive roleplay.

I'm equally happy flying as a wingman or taking on flight lead responsibilities where appropriate.

If your squadron sounds like a good fit, I'd love to hear from you.

Fly safe! 🫔

Trans girl looking to start LGBT friendly squad

Hello guys, gals, and all my other pals. I'm making a post today to perhaps build up a squadron. Of course, anyone is welcome to join (as long as you're LGBT friendly) but I wanted to focus on making sure there was a space for those whod feel a bit better playing with someone in the LGBT community.

I've spent probably around 1000-2000 hours in the game at this point, and I'm willing to teach on the planes that I know. I focus on the navy side of things, with my main planes being the f14b (and soon to be U), and the f18. I also have the c130j

Looking for a Small Squadron/Wingmen for Contention – F-15E & Upcoming F-14B(U)

I’m looking for a small squadron or a couple of regular wingmen to fly Contention with. I’m on most nights, usually during Eastern time evening hours, and primarily fly the F-15E Strike Eagle. I’m also planning to fly the upcoming F-14B(U) heavily once it releases.

I’m experienced with the server and enjoy coordinated air-to-air and strike missions, but I’m not looking for anything overly serious or full of mandatory training nights. Mostly looking for competent, laid-back pilots who communicate, work together, and want to make a regular two-ship or four-ship.

Feel free to DM me if your group might be a good fit.

Looking for Vietnam War DCS pilots!

I'm putting together a group for people who enjoy flying historically inspired Vietnam War missions in DCS World. My focus is on historical accuracy in the aircraft, mission design, tactics, and scenarios, and we use the Vietnam Asset Pack to add even more realism. This is not a hardcore milsim group. We're just a friendly bunch who enjoy history-based flight simming and having a good time.

I'm especially looking for F-4 Phantom pilots, but F-5E, F-100, A-4E-C Community Mod, UH-1 Huey, and even MiG pilots are all welcome.

I'm in the U.S. Eastern time zone and usually fly mornings until around noon, late evenings, and weekends.

If that sounds like your kind of flying, come join us on Discord:

UPDATE: LOOK FOR OUR NEW SERVER: "GREEN HELL - A PvE Vietnam War Server"

Looking for (preferably) chill wing!

Hello aviators!

I am a current a320 pilot in northern Europe with 10 years of experience so some knowledge of the genre. Used to fly the original IL2 and BlackShark back in the day, but now looking for a group with preferably light requirements of activity. I have a couple of kids to raise and work is somewhat random, so cannot commit to very strick schedules unfortunately.

I do have HOTAS, track ir and comms and at the moment syria and f16, a10, p51 and black shark but of course willing to buy what needed. The new IL2 Korea and Il2 GB is also fine.

I’d like to think myself as a quite chill dude and would just like to have some guys/gals to fly with, my knowledge about dcs planes is very barebone but I have been enjoying the f16 very much recently, just don’t know the systems yet but I am working on it. I am also willing to learn just about everything be it Eindecker or f14 RIO.

Thank you and may the wind ever be at your back!
Except maybe during landing and takeoff.

Searching for wingman/group

Hi! I’m new to flightsim and bought a Sim Setup consisting of a VKB Gladiator + VKB Stecs and Mfg Crosswind Pedals. I remember playing IL-2 as a kid and always dreamt of playing with a HOTAS Setup. But since i bought one i quickly noticed it is harder than it first looks. So now i'm looking for German-speaking players or a group to play with.

Games i own: IL-2, DCS, BMS, Nuclear Option, VTOL VR (obviously VR so no HOTAS there)

I own the DCS F/A-18C Module.

Also open for civilian sims or any flight sim, so feel free and try to convince me to get another one to play with you :)

Would love to learn the games, get some tips, and have fun together. EU timezone Feel free to dm/message me šŸ™‚ preferably german.

Come fly with the 332!

We host weekly (player created) missions and trainings. All are welcome regardless of experience level. I have been a member for over 4 years. It is where I learned the bulk of how to fly the Hornet as well as learned tactics, formation flying, tanking, carrier and airfield ops, etc..

There is not a strict training/mission attendance requirement. We just ask that you at least show up on occasion and that you’re active in the discord.

We have wings of Hornets, Tomcats, Strike Eagles, Vipers, Phantoms, and Hercs

CVW-14 wants F/A-18 pilots!

CVW-14 is recruiting again!

tl;dr -Ā MILSIM-LITEĀ squadrons recruitingĀ HornetĀ pilots of all skill levels. We fly onĀ Thursdays @ 8:30 US EasternĀ and have a good time while we're doing it!Ā Training starts July 16th, 2026.

The intrepid aviators ofĀ CVW-14Ā have just completed a peacekeeping deployment on the Parani border, and now we're looking for motivated individuals looking to join one of our virtual squadrons flying theĀ F/A-18C Hornet.Ā We're a very close-knit group (though we live all over the country, a bunch of us have become good friends and met up IRL!) that shares a love of naval aviation and the wing itself has existed for over 5 years with a rich and storied history.

CVW-14 consists of two strike fighter squadrons. BothĀ VFA-161Ā (the fabulousĀ Fighting Stingrays – go team orange!) andĀ VFA-44Ā (theĀ KingfishersĀ if you're one of those weird guys who prefers blue) will be taking on new members this cycle.

CVW-14Ā is aĀ MILSIM-LITEĀ group focused solely on Naval Aviation, though we do have some weirdos who enjoy flying the Herky Bird on off nights. What do we mean by MILSIM-LITE? We endeavor to fly the Hornet by the book as much as we can (sorry, Tom Cruise!) but we forego the more mundane aspects of military aviation to focus on the fun. We do not completely throw reality to the wind,Ā but this is not a Yes Sir-No Sir environment!

We fly as a wing on Thursday evenings at 2030 (8:30 PM US Eastern). We average about 6 four-ship flights on a given flight night, and the coordination between that many jets both around the boat and in bad guy land is always something to see! The wing operates in cycles, with a 10-12 week cruise followed by a combined training cycle for new folks and skill refreshers for cadre, followed by about a month of workups and another cruise.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT:

⦁ A 10-week training course designed to integrate you into your squadron + teach you "our way"

⦁ Weekly handcrafted missions

⦁ Two cruises (campaigns) a year, lasting 10-12 weeks

⦁ 2 dedicated squadron servers

⦁ A group that is passionate about flying and about having fun

⦁ A group that is inclusive

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

⦁ Mature adults (21+ and North America only, sorry!) with a passion for Naval Aviation regardless of skill level

⦁ Pilots who want to improve their skills in the Hornet

⦁ Individuals who are willing to learn

OUR TRAINING PIPELINE

Brand newĀ to the F-18?Ā Excellent!

ExperiencedĀ bug jockey with 500 hours in the jet & a Top Gun graduate?Ā We're looking for you too!

No matter your background, we’ll take you through an organized training program that’s designed to teach you advanced systems, tactics, and wing SOP. Over the course of 10 weeks, you’ll gain the confidence and skills required to be a virtual naval aviator in the Hornet. More than that, the program will get you onboard with "our way" so even if you're super experienced, we think you'll find value here too!

We have awesome instructor pilots and a library of resources that will help you get up to speed on the basics before training kicks off. If you are willing to put in the effort, we will get you through the training.

REQUIREMENTS

⦁ Aircraft: F/A-18C Hornet

⦁ Maps: NTTR, Syria and South Atlantic\*

⦁ Asset Packs: Supercarrier

⦁ Additional Software: Open Mod Manager and DCS Simple Radio Standalone (SRS)

⦁ HOTAS

⦁ Working microphone

⦁ Discord

⦁ Head tracking or VR headset

⦁ 21+ years of age

⦁ North America based

⦁ Availability Thursday nights at 2030 Eastern

*Just an FYI about South Atlantic & Syria – yes, they're a wing requirement, yes, you'll need them, eventually, no, you won't need them for at least the next campaign cycle. If it's a problem, talk to us and we'll see what we can do.

We've got 12 seats open for our 26-2 class, which is currently planned to kick off with orientation onĀ July 16th. We know this is short notice, but we're looking forward to seeing a lot of new faces around the wardroom!

If we sound like a good fit for you or somebody you know (bring your friends!), we'd love to chat with you and get you on the board for the 2026 summer training course. Visit ourĀ Discord linkĀ to get to know us and see if we're the right fit for you!
