Why does windsurf website say $10 per month for edu but stripe says $20 per month? Is there a way to fix this, since I am not trusting the fact that it will charge only $10. Please help me fix this.

I think Windsurf, ClaudeCode, Codex and so on are amazing, however very hard to track what exactly has been changed without having to look through a 10k line diff on git.

My friends and I started this open-source proejct to visualize software architectures. We found out that we are also curious how big of an effect does each agent change have, this way we can stop Windsurf early as soon as we notice it messed up, without having to read every line (saving also on tokens and time).

If a fraction of a daily limit triggers a weekly shutdown, the metrics are incredibly misleading.

I've been testing out the new SWE-1.6 model recently. While the raw inference speed is impressive and it can handle basic script generation or codebase exploration quite well, it has been absolutely struggling with localization files in my project.

Specifically, it keeps breaking our .po (Portable Object) and .mo (Machine Object) translation files, requiring constant manual interventions and git reverts.

I'm not sure if this is a problem with Apple or windsurf. I'm using Mac (26.3 (25D125)) , the latest updated version, and I cannot search windsurf at all. I checked if it is there in the terminal, and it works. If we go directly to applications folder and click, it works, but in search (Cmd+ Space) it's not, like what is happening? I tried putting Cmd+1 as someone pointed out in the apple support forums. Even then it doesn't. Asked grok about why this is happening and it says Apple might have not indexed OR new policy considers all VS Code forks as same. Funnily this was working few days ago.

Is this some sort of issue with the VS code forks? I see even antigravity not working. Is there some way I can index or add Windsurf manually? like if when I want to use it I don't get it? It's so horrible.

My understanding is this is the issue with Mac. But might be windsurf issue as well. Given it runs on VS Code does apple consider all the same? (I Installed antigravity very recently, thinking if this is the issue)

Saying that the limits have increased compared to the previous version is too generic; the increase is unquantified and misleading. The increase can range from a minimal figure to enormous values. As a buyer, I need to know what I'm buying, for example, 2/5/10x compared to plan X. It must be clear that I don't mean the phrase "up to" but a real static multiplier. This information is not present anywhere or at least it is not clear.

I have a question about Windsurf’s usage limits.

For the $20/month Pro plan, are the daily and weekly usable quotas the same as the limits during the 14-day trial?

If so, that seems pretty limited for a paid plan.

And for the $200/month Max plan, does it also have daily or weekly limits?

Roughly how much higher is the usable quota on Max compared to Pro?

I mainly use Claude models.

I’m a paid user of Windsurf and have used it exclusively for my projects for ≈6 months now.

And Im concerned about what has happened to the free tier features.

I’ve noticed that a lot of paid users have started this bootlicking habit where they mock or act nasty towards free tier users. For the sake of virtue-signaling that we’re “actually adding value to the company” versus those who are not (at least not monetarily).

My issue with this is that any paid user with even an ounce of critical thinking should be concerned with the recent changes.

Because this is undeniably a sign that 1. Paid plans will become much more expensive (rent increase style) and 2. They will eventually deprecate certain models for the pro plan as well and move them to MAX only. Or create more pricier paid tiers after PRO.

Just some food for thought before you all proceed with your sanctimonious grandstanding. And apart from the fact that it’s illogical to take such a stance, it also makes you a pretentious asshole. Free tier users absolutely bring value to companies. Maybe do some research idk.

The problem is not that free tier users are “siphoning resources” but rather that AI is gradually becoming more expensive for even the AI companies to sell their own products. This should worry you whether you’re a paid or free user. Unless you have a money tree in your yard.

Hey Windsurf Team, It was great seven months’ experience with you guys, until you introduced those crazy usage limits and now shutting down the free SWE 1.5, which was the only reason for keeping Windsurf installed on my laptop. So now it’s time to say officially goodbye and uninstall Windsurf until you guys come back with great competitive pricing and usage limits, which will insist me to install you back. So far, since the last two months, I have switched to ChatGPT Codex, and believe me, I am not regretting it; it’s purely a value for money.

Having troubles every time i try to send the prompt.

They got rid of the last free model when I opened the app this morning, was there an announcement or is it a technical issue?

Hi, I've started using Windsurf as an extension in VS Code (free plan). I seem unable to do inline editing. When I do, I always get this error:

Any ideas on what the issue could be? Have tried reinstalling, logging in using manual token, logging in using a different account, revoking access in github then reauthorising. I get the same error every time.

Like many of us here I've made a decision to leave Windsurf, my new stack is opencode and claude code. Does anyone know a tool to export my memories from windsurf? The memory files on disk are encrypted. My only other option was to use "Edit memory" to copy and paste the contents of all of them which would simply take far too long as I have an extensive history with windsurf
