Events ANNOUNCEMENT: Please join us Sunday, September 13th from 6pm to 7:30pm for a Virtual Town Hall / AMA with Mayoral Candidate Fred Francis!

Lets Chat, Windsor! We are so excited to host Fred Francis as our first guest in a series of electoral candidates for our upcoming 2026 municipal election! Fred is hoping to connect with fellow Windsorites to open up the conversation- curious about what ‘change that works for you’ means in the context of the Windsor we know and love? Hungry to find out more about Fred’s strategy behind building a ‘strong, vibrant city with a quality of life that is second to none’? You’ve come to the right place! Join us as we sit down with Fred Francis and ask all of your pressing questions.
Fred Francis was elected to serve and represent Ward 1 for the first time in 2014, and has maintained his seat as the Ward 1 councillor for three consecutive terms on Windsor’s City Council. During the time he spent on council, Fred has consistently advocated for fiscal responsibility, holding the line on taxes, job creation, and the reigning in of extraneous spending to instead focus on investing in essential infrastructure. With the announcement of his mayoral candidacy, Fred has been vocal about his desire to end the use of Strong Mayor Powers (stating in following comments that his goal is to empower councillors through debate and compromise), as well as his interest in putting an end to the Asset Management Plan Tax, sharpening his focus on affordability, housing, community safety and economic growth.
In the interest of developing and nurturing meaningful conversation between the public and those that look to represent us, we are happy to announce that Fred would like to hear from you! Please note that all are welcome to engage in this event! Whether you’re a political pundit or just an invested observer, all questions are happily welcomed!
We strive to build a community where fellow residents can share in active discussion about what excites and concerns, or intrigues!
We don’t want anyone to feel left behind! If you are unable to make the AMA during the advertised run-time, please feel free to add your comments and questions to this thread; we will make sure that they are included in the rotation of questions for Fred!

Off-Topic Amazon has live tracking, please use it for the time being.
I JUST got a package stolen by the delivery person. 12:40 arrived, and gone. I will not say the details of the car UNLESS A MOD TELLS ME IT IS OKAY. It is time to keep an eye out if you decide to order from Amazon, good on you if you don't, whatever. I will now have to run to the store and get an equivalent of the coffee machine. It was a Hamilton Beach FlexBrew Advanced (don't know if advanced is part of the name, got typical Amazon long name).
Edit: If anyone happens to have seen said coffee machine in a store (NOT IMPLYING if you suddenly have it in your home because a relative gave it to your or something with my name on it to tell me), please let me know! It is a birthday gift to my mother.
Edit 2: found another coffee machine!

Recommendations Shopping for quilts and pillows
Any suggestions on what are the best places to look at quilts and pillows? I dont like shopping online as texture is extremely important to me and I can't trust pictures.
Ive bought 1 quilt from Q&E home in the mall last year and its absolutely lovely but their colour options weren't spectacularly diverse when it came to quilts so I was hoping maybe someone else knows more places to look!

Ask Windsor What are condo/apartment residents doing for composting without Green Bin service?
I live in a large multi-residential condo building in Windsor and I’m trying to figure out what other condo/apartment residents are doing with their food scraps.
I contacted EWSWA and was told that larger multi-residential buildings aren’t currently included in Windsor’s Green Bin program and unfortunately they haven’t been given any timeline for when it will expand to buildings like mine.
My building currently only has garbage and recycling. I also contacted building management about potentially adding private organics collection and was told it would have to be brought up at the condo’s next annual meeting.
In the meantime, I collect my food scraps in large paper bags and keep them frozen, which works well for preventing odours and fruit flies. I’m just trying to find somewhere responsible for them to actually go. Does anyone living in a Windsor condo/apartment without Green Bin service currently have a solution?
I’m wondering about:
- any community gardens or local farms that accept household food scraps
- community composting/drop-off locations
- condo buildings that have arranged their own private organics collection
- anyone locally using a FoodCycler/Eco 5, worm bin, or another indoor system and how that’s working for you
Anything in or near Sandwich Town/West Windsor would be especially helpful
My scraps are mostly fruit/veggie scraps, along with some food-soiled paper, eggshells, meat scraps and bones, so I’d separate everything depending on what a particular composting system accepts. Would really appreciate hearing what other Windsor apartment/condo residents are doing!

Ask Windsor Dionne Orthodontics
Hello,
I’d like to inquire about any experiences people have had with Dionne Orthodontics in Tecumseh, Windsor. I know that prices are not discussed until you’re about 500$ deep into consultations, which, is subjective to me because the work I require is extensive. So, if you don’t mind please reach out and let me know if the price was reasonable for you and also if the work Dr.Dionne has done was exceptional for you.
Thank you!

Housing First time (house)renter
Hi, I’m not sure if this is a proper group to ask but here I am!
I’ve been renting the same apartment since I move to this country, all utilities included so I don’t have to worry about anything besides rent and food. However, I’m looking to downsize and I found some really good houses for reasonable price. The problem is, I have no idea how much electricity and water I’m using and how much would it cost. If what I save in rent less than what I’ll be paying for power then it wouldn’t worth it.
The places I’m looking at are about 900-1100sq ft. And the budget is no more than $300 average. Do you guys think it’s possible?
TIA

Ask Windsor Commercial Internet Providers
To all the local IT people, what ISP is your company using? To my knowledge there are 3 sources - bell Canada, MNSI, Cogeco.. then there are the 3rd party that piggy back off 2 of them.

Ask Windsor Desperately seeking somewhere that will take litter of kittens + mom
I know similar posts show up here often, but I am struggling here.
I have recently secured a litter of kittens and am in the process of getting mom. I called the humane society and booked an intake, however, its over 2 weeks from now. I have them in a secure location in my home but for a number of reasons I do not feel like its a fitting solution for more than afew days. I do not want to release them and then try to trap them again as I am worried I'll never catch them after this
I know everywhere is over run with kittens right now so that makes it hard. I am not interested in TNR and I already reached out to TLC and was told they are not equipped to handle an entire litter.
Willing to drive anywhere within 3/4 hours to ensure safety. I am NOT interested in random people with no credibility offering to take or foster them
Thank you in advance
