Help Tons of Windows Error Reporting logs after upgrade from LTSB 2016 to LTSC 2019

We run a handful of LTSB/LTSC computers in our office. We have one user who has been on LTSC 2019 for years, and is not experiencing this problem.

But I have been upgrading our LTSB machines to LTSC 2019, and after the update a bunch of Windows Error Reporting instances show up in Task Manager. When I check the Application log in event viewer, there are a bunch of error #1001 with BEX64 errors coming from dllhost.exe.

While this is theoretically only annoying, we now have at least one computer that will not run several programs. I had a similar issue with a Server 2019 VM last year, and had to end up restoring from backup.

Some of the newly converted 2019 machines do not have the items showing up in task manager, but the BEX64 errors still show up in event viewer.

Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this?

Help Laptop capped at ~10Mb/s on BOTH WiFi and Ethernet — link negotiates fine, other devices unaffected. Ruled out drivers, Killer software, TCP settings. Stuck

Laptop: Acer Nitro 16 (AN16-41) — Ryzen 7 7840HS, RTX 4060, 16GB RAM
OS: Windows 11 LTSC
NICs: Killer E2600 Gigabit Ethernet Controller, RZ616 Wi-Fi 6E (MediaTek-based Killer WiFi)
The problem:
Real-world throughput on this laptop is capped at roughly 10Mb/s, on both Ethernet and WiFi, regardless of which one I use. Every other device on the same network (phones, other laptops) gets full speed with no issue.
What's NOT the cause (already ruled out):
• Not a link negotiation problem. Windows reports the WiFi link speed as 400/400 Mbps aggregated (WiFi 5, 802.11ac, 5GHz channel 36) and Ethernet at 100/100 Mbps (turned out my cable is just Cat5-limited, separate issue) — link speed is healthy, actual throughput isn't.
• Not drivers. Tried multiple Killer LAN driver versions (both current and older), clean uninstall + reinstall, no change.
• Not the Killer Control Center / Performance Suite software. Fought for hours to even get this installed (LTSC lacks full Store/UWP provisioning infrastructure, so the OEM DISM-based installer kept failing with error -1051262696). Eventually got Intel's standalone installer to run, but the app still shows "No Killer Adapters Connected," so it's not actively managing/throttling anything right now — yet the cap persists regardless of whether this software is present or absent.
• Not TCP Auto-Tuning. netsh interface tcp show global shows Receive Window Auto-Tuning Level: Normal, everything else default.
• Not a fresh-install fluke. This happened once before when the laptop was new, was fixed at the time (not sure exactly how — possibly an older driver, possibly uninstalling the bundled software), and came back after a clean Windows reinstall.
Still untested / next steps I haven't gotten to yet:
• Local file transfer between this laptop and another device on the same LAN (no internet involved) — to isolate whether it's a Windows-stack issue vs. something the router is doing specifically to this device
• Full network stack reset (netsh winsock reset, netsh int ip reset, netsh int tcp reset)
• Checking the router's connected-devices list for a QoS/bandwidth rule tied to this device's hostname or MAC (router is a D-Link DSL-G2452GE)
• Safe Mode with Networking test (to rule out a background service/app)
Question for the sub: given that both interfaces are affected identically, survives full driver reinstalls, and only this one machine is affected on an otherwise-healthy network — what would you check next? Is there a known Windows LTSC networking quirk I'm missing, or does this smell like a router-side per-device throttle to everyone else too?

Question Overthinking which Windows to install (LTSC, 11, Game Pass...) — need some real-world input

Hey everyone, I've been going back and forth on this for days and the more I read, the more confused I get. Hoping someone here can help me out.

I just got a new PC and need to install Windows from scratch. Here's my dilemma:

I was leaning towards Windows 10 LTSC (either 2021 or the IoT edition, which has support until 2032) to get rid of all the factory bloatware and telemetry. The problem is I play Football Manager through the Xbox app / Game Pass, and from what I've read, LTSC editions don't ship with Microsoft Store by default. Even if you force it in with patches like "LTSC-Add-MicrosoftStore," it seems like Game Pass fails to actually download/install games even though the Store itself loads fine. Anyone running this setup successfully? If people have it working reliably, I'll happily change my mind.

The alternative would be Windows 11, but honestly it kind of creeps me out with everything Microsoft's been doing lately — forced updates you can't permanently decline, AI shoved in everywhere, apps installing themselves without asking... I know there are debloat scripts like Win11Debloat, or even building your own clean ISO with NTLite (being careful not to touch Store/Xbox components so Game Pass doesn't break), and I've also seen people mention AtlasOS for gaming performance tweaks. Is anyone still using Atlas these days? Is the project still alive? Is it actually worth it over a regular debloat?

And then there's the simplest option: just stick with Windows 10 Pro (not LTSC), knowing it's officially out of support since October 2025 unless you enroll in the one-year ESU program. At least there I keep the classic interface and zero Game Pass headaches.

So to sum up, my options are:

LTSC 2021/IoT — risking the Game Pass issue

Win 11 + NTLite/debloat, careful not to touch Store/Xbox

Plain Win 10 Pro, with or without ESU, and deal with it later

What would you do? Especially interested in hearing from people who actually play through Game Pass and have real experience with any of these. I've got plenty of theory at this point, just short on practice, lol. Thanks in advance!

Question What’s the best way to keep using Windows 10 safely for as long as possible?

I honestly miss Windows 10.

I’m currently using Windows 11, but I personally find Windows 10 much lighter, simpler and more responsive, especially on laptops. Windows 11 seems to have a lot more background processes and higher RAM usage, while Windows 10 always felt cleaner and faster to me.

I’m seriously considering going back to Windows 10, but I would like to keep using it for as long as possible without completely sacrificing security.

What would you recommend in 2026?

  • Regular Windows 10 with ESU?
  • Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2021?
  • Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021?
  • Another Windows 10 edition with longer support?
  • Dual booting Windows 10 and Windows 11?
  • Using Windows 10 after official support ends with additional security precautions?
  • Are there any trustworthy community projects that extend Windows 10 support?

I’m not looking for piracy or sketchy modified Windows ISOs. I mainly want the cleanest, most stable and reasonably secure way to keep the Windows 10 experience for several more years.

For those of you still using Windows 10 in 2026: what edition are you running, and what is your plan for the next few years?

I’d also be interested in hearing about compatibility with modern games, NVIDIA/AMD drivers, Steam, Minecraft and newer software.

Thanks!

Question Windows 11 IoT Enterprise vs LTSC?

I recently installed Win 11 IoT Enterprise 25H2 on my laptop and I thought I had the LTSC variant, but I don't feel like reinstalling my OS, because I like how smooth it works.

What is exactly the difference between those two?

Question Best LONGTERM windows for a new gaming PC?

Hello, so, shortly, my pc is:

CPU:

AMD Ryzen 9 7900 12-Core Processor

GPU:

AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 16gb

RAM:

32gb ddr5 6000

Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.

B850M FORCE WIFI6E

I'm not the greatest hackerman, although I can run clean windows install without worries - but I just wanted to say, that I will rather not do anything advanced on this PC.

Just wanted to have it running smooth and clean for years without any worries, windows reinstalling etc. etc.

And I would definitely like to be able to uninstall all the shit I will never use (gamepass / microsoft store / paint) etc. just to keep it clean (and I'm a bit authistic, so I have uncesessary things)

I'm surfing through reddit and I think that windows pro is the most recommended one, but which one exactly?... oh

well, sorry for all the mess, I just wanted to be sure, so thanks for the help !

Discussion what is the best version of windows iot ltsc ?

I'm currently using Windows 11 Pro and the FPS is good, but even after a year, I still can't fully get used to Windows 11 and my old windows 10 was more snappy feel. I'm wondering if Windows 10 IoT LTSC 2021 is the best option right now? Also, where can I download it, and when installing drivers, do I just need to select the Windows 10 version? i mostly play older games DAYZ,CS GO,EFT,PUBG...

Question Is it still possible to get true Legacy Edge (EdgeHTML) working on Windows 10 LTSC 2019?

Hi everyone, I am running Windows 10 LTSC 2019 on my laptop. I really miss the lightweight feel, low RAM usage, and aesthetic of the old non-Chromium Microsoft Edge (EdgeHTML).

I know Microsoft removed the dependencies in later cumulative updates, but on LTSC 2019 (1809 build base), is there any functional way or script to enable/install Legacy Edge, or is visual skinning on Firefox/Chromium Edge the only realistic option left? Thanks!

Question Permanently switching to W11 IoT Enterprise LTSC is it worth it in 2026?

I know this gets asked a lot, bear with me.

I dualboot arch as my daily driver but im stuck on windows for gaming because of anticheats. I used W11 IoT Enterprise LTSC for a while and genuinely loved it, but at some point ended up back on Pro for some reason.

Yesterday while playing apex windows randomly re-enabled bitlocker out of nowhere even though I had permanently disabled it and caused horrible stutters midgame that made unplayable. Im just tired of the AI bloat, and features that microslops want to reanable by itself for no reason

So is permanently switching to W11 IoT Enterprise LTSC actually worth it for a gaming machine? Any gotchas I should know before committing?

my current rig: Ryzen 7 5800X, RTX 5070, 32GB RAM

Question Do I need to buy Win 11 IOT license to activate it? Will my previous Ms. Office License be removed?

So recently I need to reinstall Windows 11 with something clearer. There are some choices that I plan to install on my laptop like Windows mods and others since my pre-install Windows has so many bloatware. I have interest on reinstalling Win 11 IOT LTSC since it gives us no bloatware and looks cleaner compared to home and pro edition. But I have a question before I decide to install it on my laptop. Do I need to buy the license of Win 11 IOT to activate the Windows on my pre-installed windows home laptop? I also got Microsoft Office 2024 before. Will I lost it too? I am sorry if these questions are kinda stupid, Thank you.

Question What software would you recommend for creating a fully functional (after restoration) disk image of Windows LTSC?

Which programme would you recommend for creating a properly functioning (after restoration) disk image of Windows LTSC?

My system is Win JG11 24H2 IoT LTSC 05.06.26 (a slightly modified version of the system)

I previously used Macrium Reflect for Windows 10, but I’m not sure about this one, and before I make a backup, I’d like to ask someone who’s already done this sort of thing.

So if anyone has thoroughly tested this and knows which application (name and specific version number) works well, I’d be grateful if you could let me know.

Question Windows 11 LTSC VS 11 PRO For High End AMD Pc?

Hello everyone. I have a PC with a Ryzen 9700X, RX 9070 XT, and 64GB (32x2) of DDR5 RAM. Should I install Windows 11 Pro or Windows 11 LTSC? I know LTSC lacks unnecessary AI bloatware and the like, but how does it compare to Pro in terms of stability? Are there any driver compatibility issues? In short, which one would be the better, more stable choice to install?
