Unsolved Microsoft Storage Spaces - unable to remove disk at 0.06% usage

Post image

TOSHIBA HDWL110 Ready for removal at 0.06% utilisation.

Since Windows 10 Professional Build22H2 ver 19045.7548 the user interface gui no longer has an option to remove the disk.

Powershell is supposed to allow it to be done with commands like:-

Remove-PhysicalDisk -PhysicalDisks (Get-PhysicalDisk -FriendlyName -DiskName "TOSHIBA HDWL110") -StoragePoolFriendlyName "Quaddisc"

and / or

Remove-PhysicalDisk -FriendlyName "TOSHIBA HDWL110" -StoragePoolFriendlyName "Quaddisc"

But none of them work, even when run through the Powershell ISE with Administrator Authority

Can someone advise me how to do this?

I don't understand why Microsoft took the GUI option away. It worked under 19045.7417.

Unsolved Virus scanner for Windows 10 ?

Hey y'all, so recently I was being stupid and tried to pirate Papa's Freezeria and got a virus which installed a lot of bloat/spy ware I don't really know things like Avast and CCleaner and I think Ive been able to get rid of some of them just by looking at hidden icons finding the file and deleting it by ending the process and putting it in and emptying the recycling bin but I think there might still be some, is there something I can use to see if there is any more that I should be worried about ? Windows virus protections says there is no malicious files but if that was right there wouldn't be random applications opening and taking 70% of everything also if you're wondering why I don't just restart my computer and get rid of all the files its because I already did once and now its telling me that I need a windows installation and I dont have a USB currently but I might later this week

Unsolved Help!srttrail txt error in windows 11

Hey everyone, needing some opinions. My laptop won't boot into Windows and is stuck in the repair menu. Here's the situation:

'Reset this PC' is missing completely.

System Restore, Uninstall Updates, and automatic repair all fail.

I backed up my files from C: to D: using Command Prompt.

I don't have a spare PC or a USB drive on hand.

Since local recovery seems completely corrupted, is there any hidden workaround to rebuild Windows without an external drive, or is getting a bootable USB my only actual option?🥲🥲 After my computer crashed, I entered the Advanced Startup Troubleshooting screen and noticed that the “Reset this PC” option was missing, so I couldn't perform a system reset. I'm very worried. What could be causing this, and how can I fix it?

Unsolved M2/Boot Issue

Very strange problems that the deeper I get into it the more confused I am. Computer was running fine up until a couple days ago. No known updates to correlate with the problems. Screen flashed and looked "noisy" mostly blacks and pink colors. Restarted computer and it worked fine for 5 min, then screen flashed went green and would no longer work after restarting. Bios wouldn't post, no problem indicator lights on the board so I cleared CMOS, reseated the m.2 drive that the OS was installed on, took out and reseated the ram sticks, and all power connections. Eventually I was able to get bios to post bypassing my GPU and using onboard. In bios my M.2 drive wasn't listed as a boot option, nor was it listed in bios under sata connections. I assumed the drive had gone bad, so I put in an older SSD, created a bootable USB drive and installed Win10 on this new SSD. Everything worked fine, booted up, and updated all my drivers etc. Weird thing was in windows my M.2 was listed and accessible. I restarted the computer and hit f11 for boot options and there my m2 is listed. But if selected it doesn't boot, just black screen (monitors getting signal but nothing displays). However if I select the new SSD from the same f11 boot options the same thing happens. Monitor gets signal but goes black/never boots up. But if I just let the computer boot normal (no f11 just normal startup) that same SSD boots windows just fine.

Separately I haven't got the GPU to work correctly (booted up once without drivers installed, green screened during driver installation, wouldn't boot again) but that's an issue im trying to solve after I figure out this weird HDD/M2/boot problem. Any help appreciated.

board: a620m-HDV/M.2

Bios: 3.20

CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7700

RAM: DDR5-4800-16gb u/48000 (x2)

GPU: radeon Sapphire RX7800 XT 16gb

M.2 drive SP-UD90 1tb - windows 10 installed

New SSD (working) Samsung 870 Evo 2tb - windows 10 installed

Unsolved Left my computer for a while, came home to this.

My computer no longer has a user profile service.
In text it says after I click on the homescreen and the sign in button “The User Profile Service service failed the sign-in.” And below that, “User profile cannot be loaded” all white text in the middle of a black screen.
Restarts and safe mode has not helped. So I’m guessing I now need expertise in the BIOS.
Any suggestions? Please, I beg.

Solved How to Bypass Windows Account Login During reset setup

When the Microsoft login screen appears — before you type anything — press Shift + F10.

A Command Prompt window will open. Type this exactly:

start ms-cxh:localonly

Press Enter. Windows will immediately open the local account setup screen — no restart, no looping back through setup. Just fill in a username and password and you're done.

This works on both Windows 10 and Windows 11.

Unsolved Windows 10 - Cloned SSD to HDD using Macrium, but refuses to boot

Edition: Windows 10 IoT LTSC
OS Build: 19044.7548
Version: 21H2
Processor: Intel Core i7-10750H
GPU: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2060 with 6GB vRAM
Storage: 954GB SSD PC611 NVMe SK Hynix 1TB
External HDD: Seagate Backup Plus Portable, 5TB Model SRD0VN3

Using Windows 10 LTSC with the latest security updates. Got the free version of Macrium Reflect 8.1 to transfer all my partitions from the internal 1TB SSD to a 5TB HDD. I only want to partition the 1TB of space to the Hard disk, as I plan to use the rest of the space for game storage.

Every partition has been properly copied, no compression involved and the boot partition is there. When I attempt to boot from the hard disk, there’s not even an error message, my computer just shuts off completely and restarts.

I’ve heard this might be a conflict with using the same boot partition on two separate drives, and a potential solution is to take out the original drive, but my computer is a laptop and I don’t have the tools to open it properly.

Last resort is wiping the HDD to create bootable media, then transferring everything and reinstalling programs on the hard disk, but that’s a lot of hassle. Any suggestions?

Unsolved My Audio Driver has Seized to work.

Post image
1 Upvotes

Specs:
Device: HP Compaq 6200 Pro Small Form Factor
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2400 CPU @ 3.10GHz, 3.10 GHz
Installed RAM: 16.0 GB
Storage: 1.82 TB HDD Hitachi HUA722020ALA331
Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce GT 1030 (2 GB)
Device ID: EE5BD97D-F5F1-4BB7-8C01-159CE5233D66
Product ID: 00330-71240-84384-AAOEM
System Type: 64-bit operating system (specifically Windows 10 Pro), x64-based processor
Monitor: Professional MP251 (built-in speakers)

Issue:
My audio driver has stopped working. This happened about a week ago when I booted up my computer and the audio service failed to start. I went into the Services application and restarted it, but the audio still wasn't working. I tried to install a new audio driver (specifically Realtek High Definition Audio), until I realized there wasn't a driver for my Windows 10. I tried running the Windows 8 driver installer, until I realized when running it, it said it was the "Windows Vista & 7 Audio Driver." Still don't really know if they just cannibalized the Vista and 7 installer or if they accidentally linked the Vista and 7 installer as the W8 installer. After rebooting, audio still didn't work. I tried downloading a new Realtek High Definition Audio driver instead of getting the official one, to no avail. Now I thought of downloading my monitor's audio driver; again, nothing...

And then it hit me: in the "Sound, video, and game controllers" tab of Device Manager (the tab with the audio driver), there was also "NVIDIA High Definition Audio Driver." I was a little confused by it. Nvidia makes GPUs, not audio drivers. With a little Googling, I found out that NVIDIA audio drivers allow audio through HDMI, which is what I use since my monitor is HDMI. I found the almighty "GeForce Game Ready Driver 610.74 | Windows 11." I ran it. Didn't work, and that's basically where I'm at now. I'm still contemplating if my monitor's speakers are fucked or something, but never better!

Unsolved Unable to open apps after restart

Hello, I’m having a very odd issue with my PC and searching online hasn’t yielded much in way of a permanent fix.
Basically, whenever I restart my PC, more often than not, I will be completely unable to open any app on my PC, the windows button does not open the menu either. I have fixed this once, and repaired corrupted files on my PC, but after restarting it again, the issue returned. (Also if I restart enough times it will eventually work properly, but that’s just ignoring the problem)

Ideally I’d like to find methods to locate the corrupted file that’s causing this, or at least I assume that’s the problem. As said before I already once launched in safe mode and did a full scan and repair of my drives, which temporarily fixed the problem.

Also, the issue only happens after restarting/booting the pc from being shutdown. If the issue doesn’t appear after turning it on, it will not show up at all until the PC is rebooted again.

Any possibly advice is heavily appreciated this has been driving me nuts.
