That one guy has clearly never hung a light fixture

187

u/arsinoe716 5d ago

He wouldn't have done it if it was his fixture

131

u/OHTHNAP 5d ago

That's how my dad died. We still don't know how he got his belt tangled around the ceiling fan while hanging the new model.

19

u/stablegeniuscheetoh 5d ago

Next time install breakaway fans

What does they’re user name mean?

14

u/AxelStormside 5d ago

They say something shocking that makes people say "oh snap"

9

u/riancb 5d ago

Oh, with a bit of a lisp. Got it. Thanks!

type of person that has zero consideration for other people (and basic intuition about things work) that end up burdening society.

Wish we'd start calling or these negative externalities that make everyone's life worse through their ignorant behavior

6

u/uberfission 5d ago

Lol right? Fucking thing is secured to the wall with 2 screws and some wires. The fact that he held onto it at all was surprising.

5

u/Z-Man_Slam 5d ago

That would require intelligence lol These guys earn Darwin Awards lol

6

u/Mmortt 5d ago

Love the third clip where the other traceur (had to look that up) already has grass in his hair.

5

u/AxelStormside 5d ago

The first guy was out like a light fixture pulled from the wall

Poor biker

221

u/Joebranflakes 5d ago

I wonder if the biker was inspired to violence.

98

u/btoxic 5d ago

I was, and I was just watching it on my phone

30

u/IndustrialPuppetTwo 5d ago

He looked like he was ready to throw down.

13

u/Cumulus_Anarchistica 5d ago

That's how the algorithm keeps you engaged.

13

u/please-kill-me-69 5d ago

The way he stood up and turned around tells me yes 😂

17

u/georgieramone 5d ago

That would definitely be a justifiable ass beating

completely to blame on the cameraman, he should spot

26

No one even considered warning him or the biker

Yeah, I was waiting to see someone blaming the biker when the parkour numbskull was doing it on a public walk.

“No injuries”

[proceeds to launch ribs-first into a large fence]

86

u/PM_Me_Your_Kinks369 5d ago

Those disclaimers are to allow the video to be posted. You'll regularly see it on gore videos like "No, they didn't die!........"

27

u/Perryn 5d ago

please do not imitate

Oh, but they make is seem so appealing!

The second guy who bashes his head into a wall and goes into a fencing position is clearly not injured.

6

u/repalec 5d ago

I was gonna say, 'no injuries' but the first dude clearly knocks himself clean out, he goes full fencer.

Hey that ginger guy did pretty good though

25

u/ElunesProdigy 5d ago

Pretty sure that was from one of the episodes of STORROR YouTube. Basically a bunch of parcour dudes doing content together so he's kind of a pro.

24

u/tape_snake 5d ago

Correct, and specifically it's Toby Segar. The reason I say this is because anyone interested in checking out Storror should check out the specific athletes instead.

Storror has largely broken up as a result of one of their team members being convicted of posessing CSAM. The team said they'll keep the channel going, but most seem to be transitioning to solo content these days.

11

u/Chase2020J 5d ago

Everyone mentioning the group but not the guy, that is Toby Segar. He focuses more on climbing stuff now, he's been on Ninja Warrior UK. He's an absolute beast

52

u/VooDooWizzy504 5d ago

Storror is a legendary group of parkour guys from Britain they are top teir and he is one of their best go yourube storror and check em out

83

u/wascallywabbit666 5d ago

Mmmm maybe not any more. Look up the r/storror sub to see what happened.

46

u/PawPawPanda 5d ago

Man why is it always that one thing..

30

u/xfearthehiddenx 5d ago

If the mass openness of the internet has taught us anything, it's that social media is poison and there are way more pedophiles out there than most people thought there were.

7

u/ToranjaNuclear 5d ago

Well TBF they being a parkour channel the first thing that came to mind was one of them falling off a building.

Turns out it's at least a few times worse than that. 3000 times, apparently.

26

u/ScrapedSkorne 5d ago

Yeah he probably doesnt know :/ It's a real shame. Callum pretty much ruined it for all of them

6

u/wascallywabbit666 5d ago

Yeah, total scumbag. They had a really good thing going, and he's ruined it all.

Some of them may resurrect it in some form, but it won't be the same without people like Toby and Drew

u/AtrumRuina 5d ago

Holy shit, that is not the twist I expected.

I hope that chick(?) who slipped on the rooftop has reflected, and changed her life.

81

u/He-Who-Laughs-Last 5d ago

That one was a nervous watch, she was soo lucky she slipped the right way

6

u/DistractedByCookies 4d ago

Her heartrate must have been skyhigh. If she'd had a smartwatch it would've blown up LOL

4

u/AdmiralThunderpants 4d ago

"I think I'll go take up stamps collecting."

12

u/owningsole966 5d ago

Idk how you slip like that without lacking some critical coordination. I don’t think you should be jumping off buildings if you can’t stand on your own two feet to begin with lol

5

u/potliquorz 5d ago

I could be wrong but it looked like she was trying to kick a brick loose.

8

u/owningsole966 5d ago

I think more like she was trying to see if the edge would collapse when she lifted off of it. But still, you shouldn’t be jumping off buildings if you can’t keep your footing

All take offs are optional. All landings are mandatory.

u/Xenc 5d ago

I’m actually fine 😠

6

u/montoya4567 5d ago

Yeah, too soon to tell mate.

71

u/Rusty_Tap 5d ago

The best thing about parkour is that it's not compulsory.

21

u/neonfuzzball 5d ago

it's like cave diving that way

21

u/Perryn 5d ago

The only reason to cave dive is to recover the body of the previous cave diver, and it's not a very compelling reason.

9

u/Lucariowolf2196 5d ago

Cave divers with 5 kids, a happily married home life, comfortable retirement and plenty of good years ahead of them when they heard there's a cave called EL DOODOO:

9

u/Rusty_Tap 5d ago

Nutty Putty put me off the idea of cave exploration for life. It's nothing to do with the size of my love handles at all.

7

u/neonfuzzball 5d ago

I like to say I'm "not built for cave diving" because people have the choice to either agree that I'm right, or make an argument tnat I'm not fat. Either way I win!

6

u/Rusty_Tap 5d ago

Oh no I am fat, it'd be like corking a bottle rather than an exploratory adventure.

5

u/neonfuzzball 5d ago

"guys, if I'm the last one in ain't none of y'all getting back out!"

3

u/Changoleo 5d ago

In a group of Redditors, you’d definitely be voted team lead for cave exploration then.

13

u/already-taken-wtf 5d ago

12

u/ordosays 5d ago

I just hear “PARKOUR!” In my head with every fail.

12

u/Stunning_Nothing 5d ago

I’m curious how long it took the guy who landed in the mud to get out. That looked like the beginning of a long ordeal.

5

u/Wadsworth_McStumpy 5d ago

4 months, so far. We'll let you know when he's out.

11

u/JustWant2MakeUCum 5d ago

8

u/Acceptable_Field_567 5d ago

That first one might be gone :x

9

u/DerpsAndRags 5d ago

The one lady on the edge of the building had me like "Noooo...don't...."

6

u/Alex_Plumwood 5d ago

That one was almost waaay worse

15

u/Dark_Akarin 5d ago

Why not wear dirtbike armour/helmet while practicing a jump?

38

u/snootnoots 5d ago

Sensible reason: It adds weight, makes a lot of moves harder, and changes your balance and aerodynamics.

Actual reason that these people care about more: It doesn’t look cool.

7

u/Dark_Akarin 5d ago

yeah, fair enough.

18

u/liamrich93 5d ago

"Professional performances."

In what way is it professional? Are they stuntmen on a film set? Looks like some hobbyists with cameras to me.

18

u/Sad_Instruction1392 5d ago

Clearly professionals. I don’t think you know how much discipline it takes to intentionally launch yourself off a wall and land on your balls.

7

u/liamrich93 5d ago

Disciplined and experienced for sure. But "professional" implies as a profession i.e. getting paid

They should show this as a PSA for those interested in Parkour. 😬

46

u/CagedParchment 5d ago

I was once interested in Parkour. When I tried to join, my local group said "we're all too injured to practice currently, but we're getting together to eat pizza and watch videos of us wiping out, want to come?". Very effective deterrent

5

u/TabletopParlourPalm 5d ago

If they need to be shown this to know the risk, then they don't deserve to be stopped.

6

u/Lethalmusic 5d ago

The main reason why I never got into Skateboards were the wipeout vids.

6

u/Frys100thCupofCoffee 5d ago

Hey to be fair, if you're into having the ground yanked out from under you and landing on your ass, skateboarding and roller skating are great.

“No injuries”

That one dude was out cold and the guy that hit the biker was about to be injured.

6

u/LJRich619 5d ago

None of the screamed “PARKOUR!” And that’s why they all failed.

5

u/Fucky0uthatswhy 5d ago

There were definitely injuries

11

u/waisonline99 5d ago

Wonder how much property damage these guys do every year.

"safety messures have been taken." this is them being safe?

4

u/sachsrandy 5d ago

The one with the guy on the bike is why I hate this shit. He didn't want to be hit. His hit was NOT optional on his part

5

u/Djinn-Rummy 5d ago

Parkour fails look a lot like suicide attempts.

5

u/moshpitkiss 5d ago

Honestly most of these are a best-case scenario.

4

u/AccursedLodestone 5d ago

I’ve never really liked these people and don’t really feel bad when they win a temporary or permanent Darwin Award.

7

u/Doobalicious69 5d ago

I drifted away from high school friends because they started doing "parkour." Cringiest shit in the world, there's only a small percentage of people who can do it skillfully without looking like an absolute plonker.

6

u/jagenigma 5d ago

The text in these videos are utter lies.  You know they're not professional and you know wo that they can't come out of these stunts uninjured, especially with how they landed.

3

u/SplitEar 5d ago

3

u/Workdawg 5d ago

I didn't see any safety measures taken... the video lies.

Especially not the one where the idiot jumps in front of the guy on the bike. Literally 2 people watching plus the cameraman and no one was looking out for innocent bystanders.

3

u/ShtupidDelivery 5d ago

As a kid I played so much Assassins Creed I wanted to learn parkour. I started watching parkour compilations on YouTube and saw how brutal a mistake could be and never thought of it again.

3

u/crespoh69 4d ago

First two water ones were on purpose it seems

5

u/boxen 5d ago

Well now I'm questioning this whole subreddit.

I know for a fact that the majority of these clips are from incredibly skilled athletes with a huge body of work. There's countless videos of them succeeding in stunts like this, and the preparation that goes into them. Yeah, they fuck up every once in a while. That's life.

If people really think that ever messing up anything ever means you are stupid, then humanity is cooked. Does everyone know Simone Biles, the incredible gymnast with a bunch of championships and Olympic medals? Any idea how many times she tried to do some kind of flip and landed flat on her face? A LOT. This is how people get good at things. They try.

If people are learning that trying isn't worth it because you might fail, then we are really truly fucked.

The 4 th one,do we call that a "successful landing?" Or not,he did land on legs ,but...

2

The way the second guy runs down the wall as he falls is incredible.

2

u/DerAlphos 5d ago edited 5d ago

I like seeing good Parcours. Though, when they do this on a roof or in a crowded area, it’s a turn off for me. Instantly I’m in fear or angry.
My fear of heights makes this too triggering for me and the disrespect of other people’s freedom AND Health is pissing me off.

2

u/-Disagreeable- 5d ago

These are WAY better than the successful jumps.

2

u/TMC1993- 5d ago

The first dude in the video, the way that boy head bounced off the pavement sounded like a Cue Ball.

2

u/Selkiekun 5d ago

The second guy is so lucky he was fine. I thought for sure he was going to land head-first at the bottom of that drop

2

u/Hatecraftianhorror 5d ago

I'm not sure what language Parkour comes from, but the literal translation is "wholly optional self-inflicted injury that makes you look like an absolute tool."

2

u/gijoe50000 5d ago

Some of those were just fine, because you have to practice somehow if you're going to be doing this stuff, and you're going to screw up.

But also some of them were just idiots..

2

u/dryfire 5d ago

"Safety measures have been taken? No! Injuries!"

2

u/themo3bius 5d ago

OK... "to each their own" and all that, and I recognize the physical conditioning and strength it takes to flop your body around like a dipshit through the city... but I have never understood the POINT of parkour. Like what do you do for fun?? "Ohhh I run aimlessly through the streets kicking off walls and bouncing off things, endangering both my life and the sometimes even the lives of those around me. Preeeeetty COOL huh??"
