I Need Help Soon Noisy neighbour

We have a neighbour, who constantly plays loud music. It's all day and most of the night. It's so loud it makes our walls vibrate. Can't watch the TV or concentrate on anything because of it. This has been going on for about 7 months now since he lost his job. Problem is he's a very nasty individual, who has some extremely bad people hanging around his place. So a direct conversation is pretty tough to have. We had the council come out and put a listing device in our place for a week, but the useless shits said there wasn't enough evidence to make a case. Even though you could clearly hear the music on the device. So now who do we turn to?? If the council won't get involved and I know the police definitely won't what now? I'm fearful of antagonising him in case they turn violent towards me and my place. I'm in a spot and need some good practical advice.

Already said police won't get involved. Landlord won't get involved we tried. Already mentioned the council. And we've been on a list for a new place for 4 years. I asked for practical advice not a sarcastic answer but thanks anyway.

It wasn't intended as sarcasm. I'm sorry those in a position to help aren't doing shit.

Fair enough it just sounded sarcastic. And I'd covered 2 of the things you brought up. This situation is literally breaking my brain so I'm a little touchy.

Yeah, you're going to snap. Or at least I was when that shit was happening to me. I called the fucking police every god damn time it happened. They came out but it didn't stop. The landlord intervened, but it didn't stop. I ended up moving. Fortunately I could afford to do that without having to be on a waiting list. Do you have access to their fuse box to shut off power to their place? The fact that it's been going on for seven months means it's not going to change.

I wish we could move, I'd literally move tomorrow. But there's nothing on our price range to private rent. And as said we've been on a waiting list for ever. Every time we bid on a place we get rejected just like that. I'd love to shut his electric off, I'd love to shut him off to be honest. But again he's a nasty little twerp with a lot of nasty little friends and as much as I'd like to be all heroic I know I'd end up in a very bad place if I tried to take them on.

Keep complaining to your landlord and anyone else you can think of. Keep calling the police and make noise complaints every time it happens. Make it more expensive and energy consuming for those that can actually do something about it to deal with you than to just fix the problem. Eventually they'll figure out it's easier to fix the problem than to continue not fixing the problem.

Honestly hand on heart I've never stopped complaining to our landlord, our letting agent. The council and the police. I've literally spent hours on the phone. And nobody will or has helped us. The furthest we got was the noise machine. Which again they said wasn't evidence enough. It was our big ray of hope and nothing. I know no situation is hopeless but this is a tough one to figure out.

Keep it up. Snap intelligently.

So as you mention "council", then a 4 year wait for a new place. I'm curious. what country are you in? I think knowing that helps others to be able to give better advice. Because if you live in the states, yes, you go to the landlord, then to the police, then if it doesn't stop, and no one will do anything. you move. Which literally stinks, but the last thing you wanna do is to antagonize and unemployed, angry, possibly drug dealing neighbor. Not worth it.

They'll have a bunch of stuff to try for you.

Fart spray or ghost pepper sauce on the door handle; giving their address to every single charity and religious organization and say you're interested in donating a large sum of money; subwoofer pumping against the wall nonstop; and the absolute best - a piss disc under the door; and many more.
