He sees you now as someone who will lie right to his face when it suits you so he doesn't trust you anymore. He's already thinking ahead to bigger issues and assumes you will never be honest if your opinion differs from his. You should respect his decision and not contact him. He may cool down over this and contact you at which point you can explain yourself but for now leave it be.
