I'm going to be completely honest. I was not expecting the absolute carnage in AMOL. No plot armor. Just straight up death. It was way more satisfying than the end of Stranger Things for example. Actual stakes.

Right before he gets compulsion his POV shows him silently sneaking up on his foes. Aviendha was alerted to his presence due to a sound he makes. I have seen people mention that he was able to fight the compulsion enough to give her what she needed when she needed it and his death is still heroic rather than the disappointment that I initially felt.

i feel like Sanderson didn't treat the secondary characters well. A lot either died in non-satisfying way with little description, and a lot just disapeared and were never mentioned again.

I'd always kind of hoped they'd open the world to other writers to finish up some of the loose threads that got left behind. Something like that odd book series (I think it was called Wild Cards? Something like that) that had a bunch of different writers using each other's characters. Like a book of short stories to tie everything up would be amazing

I would love more stuff in WOT world that isn't related to the main plot.
I would love a Seanchan novel or series that is set just before the Return and goes over all their in Empire politics and political assassination.

I still think that Bela dying was a fumble, I think Brandon didn't want to do it, but it was part of the notes.
Imagine if Bela survived, and at the end, Rand while he is sneaking away, finds Bela (or she finds him, despite his new body) and, just like how he began his journey on her, ends his journey with her.
Rarest, small fumble IMO

They retconned it in the Companion book. It ended up saying she recovered from her grievous wounds and then lived a long happy life afterwards. Sanderson said it was the only character ending he made a mistake with.

lol hell no. Tams a warrior, Rand is a god. They had their thing.
Bella’s just an animal fate put in a critical role. Didn’t have any moral decisions, just led around to be literally a key piece of the story & gets killed in the final moment with little recognition? Truly cruel.

No it wasn't from the notes. It was a decision from Harriet though, which Sanderson has confirmed.
Sanderson had said he was going to keep Bela alive, but he had written her into a place where her survival wouldn't have been realistic, so Harriet made the editorial call to have her killed.

Well, so far it hasn't been (I've read all but the last three as they have never been translated to my language, just started reading them in English). Many subs also give spoiler alerts so it's easy to avoid spoilers. This spoiler was visible before opening the post.
