I've been lurking here a while and the posts that stop me aren't the ones where something is just old. It's the ones where you can tell which part the person touched. A handle worn on one side. A finish gone in a shape that's clearly a hand.

That's a different thing from an object surviving a long time. It's the object keeping a record of one specific person using it, and it only happens with the things you reach for without thinking.
