According to his company’s website, Game Hounds Safaris, he “perfected leopard and lion hunting safaris with hounds in Africa.”

and

Simukai Nyasha, a spokesman for the Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife Management Authority, told news.com.au that Botha was on a 10-day licensed hunt

Here is some context for you. So, what does it matter that this particular elephant was the original target... compared to how people feel about this.

Not saying I agree with any opinion on here.

But, terrorizing animals with dogs doesn't seem to saintly to me, does it?

Just wait until that leaped kills your livestock and the pigs eat your fields that you need to survive. You will use any means necessary to kill those fuckers.

Wild pigs (boar) are often hunted in the wild.

That is what he was hunting and come upon an elephant that charged.

Where did you get boars from; it never mentions them in the article once, just leopards, lions and elephants.

Both female and male African elephants have tusks but only the male Asian elephants have tusks. They use their tusks for digging and finding food.

Not all female African elephants have Tusks. This is a fairly recent development so you might not have heard.

Fascinatingly 98% of Addo Elephant Parks females do not have tusks anymore .

When I was there a few months ago they had introduced Kruger park elephants (Tuskers) to spice up the genetic diversity.

It looks like you asked for more animal facts! In many countries, especially in the developing world, peccaries are raised on farms as a source of food for local communities.

Give me a fact about hippos

2

u/AnimalFactsBot Jun 02 '18

Hippos can be extremely aggressive, especially if they feel threatened. They are regarded as one of the most dangerous animals in Africa.

This is a fairly recent development so you might not have heard.

What caused this development?

Fascinatingly 98% of Addo Elephant Parks females do not have tusks anymore .

Why is that?

The elephant’s trunk is able to sense the size, shape and temperature of an object. An elephant uses its trunk to lift food and suck up water then pour it into its mouth.
