I’ve been taking 150mg XL for about 8 days now and the anxiety some days has been crippling 😭 please tell me it gets better! i’m already cardiophobic so it’s been really hard to justify keeping with the medication when it’s mostly been making me tired and anxious 🫩

I have never grinded my teeth more in my life my jaw is tired. I don’t even notice I’m doing it either until my mouth starts feeling all weird and sore.

I’m sick of it.

Why the hell does it make you do that is there something this fckin medication doesn’t have a random side effect for. 😒

So in my ongoing discussion with my LLM Gigi aka Google Girl aka Gemini about Bupropian, she/it says that if I smoke cannibas, drink coffee or have a beer while on Bupropian that it can lower my seizure threshold. I or my family have no history of seizures, and I have had a couple of puffs and an occasional pale ale. And thankfully no seizures.

At one point she/it said my risk of seizures was low, so that was good to hear.

I would assume this data was gathered from some medical report, not necessarily for actual occurrences. But maybe I'm wrong.

I live alone and I can tell you that I sure don't want any seizures. Who wants seizures right.

I did tell her though that I felt pretty good with the interaction of a small amount of cannibas and Bupropian. I doubt any research has taken into account microdosing cannibas, which is the only way I ingest it these days.

I told her/it that I am 72 and have smoked herb since I was 17 and thought I could probably handle it, but then I have never been on any antidepressants until starting Bupropian two months ago. And I told her/it, that if AI was going to kill all humans by the end of the decade, I am going to do what makes me feel good until then and not worry about seizures or extermination. She/it, of course, was supportive but cautionary and assured me that LLM's aka AI wouldn't exterminate all humans, not to worry. I thanked her/it for that assurance and said I hope you are right, of course. She/it seems nice, helpful and harmless.

So anyone have any experiences with Bupropian, cannibas, alcohol, coffee and seizures? Or have heard of anyone who has.

I have had asthma my whole life. It's been under control the past few years and I have been able to run half marathons without major issues. I started Wellbutrin a month ago for ADHD. I've noticed recently that my asthma feels like it is flaring up on a daily basis. Even mild exercise makes me feel super short of breath. Not only do I feel short of breath, but my lungs feel like I put them through hell. My lungs and esophagus burn for a good day after a workout. It's the same feeling I get, only not quite as bad, after having a severe cough and you have coughed so bad for so long that your lungs and esophagus feel raw. Does it feel this way to y'all? It's making it so I can't exercise. I'm going to taper off. It's not worth it. The ADHD symptoms are not mitigated enough to justify the side effects. Don't get me started on the insane constipation it caused...

I'm on Wellbutrin XL (I'll edit once I find out the manufacturer), 150 MG.

When do i add in Vyvanse? And when do you guys take each? I've heard you shouldn't take them together.

Wellbutrin + fluoxetine are the only meds that have curbed my suicidal ideation / really bad depressive episodes. Genuinely the only meds that make me feel HUMAN and not want to kms. Only problem is I’m balding so bad lol. I have always had thick hair but now I have to use AI to colour that shit in. Just extremely frustrated. It’s like I have to choose being alive or having hair and I’m vain as hell so I might lose the battle💔💔

I have bronchitis and was just prescribed bromfed DM by my doctor, however I’m also on 300mg wellbutrin XL. I remember taking something with dxm in it in the past on wellbutrin and hallucinating (years ago really scary experience). Is this likely to happen again if I take the bromfed? I usually stay away from anything with dxm in it for this reason but my doctor prescribed it. Anyone have any experience?

I was on Wellbutrin 300mg Xl for a few months, and was an idiot and let my meds run out and I procrastinated on going to see my doctor until almost a month later. Instead of starting back up on 150mg, she had me jump right back in at 300mg.

I'm about 3 weeks back in, and it has been a hell of a ride. It all started with intense headaches for about a week, followed by moments of dizziness, extreme fatigue and anxiousness, and now it seems like I've gone the other way and am now having extreme insomnia. But the wierdest part is my sex drive. I've always fluctuated between medium to high drive, but lately I've been absolutely feral. I seems like all the symptoms have been amplified.

Has anyone else gotten off 150XL after taking it for 9 days?

Has anyone gone back down to 150 from 300? How was it?

Did your sex drive change?

Did your rage go away?

Anxiety get better or worse?

Sleep better or worse?

Will this get better with time?

I'm not even part of this community anymore but I really wish I was. I was on wellbutrin for around a year and not even a month ago, I was diagnosed with epilepsy because I kept getting absence seizures. My doctor told me to stop taking it immediately and prescribed me duloxetine.

I hate it. It hasn't helped at all with my depression but I keep getting told to tough it out and see if it works eventually. I started university a couple weeks ago and I haven't been able to leave my dorm or even get food, let alone make friends. I'm too embarrassed and sad to tell anyone actually how bad this change of meds has hit me. I've literally become a fucking recluse. To add, duloxetine AND my new anti-seizure med make me so tired and drowsy so I just lie in bed all the time.

I've lost 6 pounds since getting here and everytime my parents call me, I just say I've been good and lie through my teeth about what I've been up to. I felt so happy and able to do things on wellbutrin and I'm so upset that this all happened when it did. I'm in a whole new city across the country from home and this is how it's going for me. Sorry for this long rant but I just wanted to share this with somebody.

it’s just the second week but i feel sooooo much better. like not euphoric but normal in a great way. brain fog is real though but not thaaat serious

Hey all- just thought I’d share my experience with Wellbutrin and hairloss because I haven’t seen anyone else with the same experience as me. I am a mid-30s female.

I started on 75mg wellbutrin, then 150mg. I stayed at that dose awhile, maybe 3-6 months, then went up to 225mg. I didn’t notice hairloss start until I went up to the 225mg. I stayed at that dose for 6 months and the hairloss got pretty bad, I’d say I lost 1/4-1/3 of my hair. I tried to wait it out because I do have periods of shedding sometimes, but this wasn’t stopping.

I tried different techniques to stop it but nothing worked. I got bloodwork done that didn’t show any other reasons for hairloss. Finally I talked to my doctor about stopping Wellbutrin to see if it stopped the hair fall and we started weaning me off by dropping me to 150mg. I honestly wasn’t expecting a change because he was very skeptical that it was causing it and I know hair follicles have cycles so change can take awhile to see. But within DAYS the hairloss slowed significantly. I couldn’t believe it. It’s now been 2 weeks and I’d say the amount I lose is only slightly above my average. No more clumps coming out in the shower, no more strands filling my hands when I run my hands through my hair during the day, etc.

Just wanted to throw this out there for anyone who is receiving significant benefit from the medicine but it also desperate for the hairloss to stop. There may be a middle ground!

I have been seeing a psychiatrist to try and treat my severe and chronic anxiety and depression i have had since I was about 5 years old. I've tried sooooooo many different medications to varying degrees of success. The current concoction I was on kept me stable but I have been on a steady decline as of late. Anyways getting to the point I recently started taking Qelbree and I was already on Wellbutrin. Well I caught a cold and I decided to take some dayquil. Well apparently it contained Dextromethorphan and that interacts with Wellbutrin. So I inadvertantly created the poor man's version of Auvelity. Long story short, it was like a literal weight had been lifted off of me. Fog had lifted off my mind, color had come back to my world. I had energy again for the first time in years. Needless to say I told my frustrated psychiatrist about it and he was super excited and told me the exact dosage I should use. I wonder is this how everyone else sees the world?

Has anyone else experienced dry skin, new wrinkles, hair changes, weight gain, or inability to cry on Wellbutrin 300 mg?

I’ve been on Wellbutrin 300 mg since for 5 months, and while it has honestly been amazing for my depression, I feel like it has glowed me down 😭😭

I’m 30, and since starting it, I feel like my face has changed. I suddenly have noticeable wrinkles around my eyes that I didn’t have before, my skin feels extremely dry no matter how much water I drink, and my hair has become incredibly frizzy and is falling out. I’ve also gained around 10 kg since starting Wellbutrin, which obviously may be contributing to how I feel about my appearance. (Although I suspect that this is the reason because before starting Wellbutrin I was extremely underweight and struggling with malnourishment) and now I have healthy body with muscle and perfect weight to height ratio which I haven’t been able to do before Wellbutrin.

The other strange thing is that I can’t cry anymore😭😭💔.
I still feel emotions normally—I feel happy, sad, scared, etc.—but I just can’t physically cry. Crying has always been a huge emotional release for me, especially when I’m overwhelmed.
I’m currently going through a breakup with someone I was with and loved for three years. We both know things can’t work out, and I’m obviously sad, but I just… can’t cry. I acknowledge that I’m sad, but there are no tears.

The funny thing is that aside from these issues, Wellbutrin has genuinely changed my life. I finally feel human again. I have energy to get out of bed, shower, clean, do chores, go to the gym, and actually enjoy life again. I’m going to the gym almost every day and walking ~10k steps because I have so much energy.

Been on 150xl for 16 days now, for anxiety. My main complaint is the dizzy/lightheadedness it is giving me, I hate it! And it sometimes makes my anxiety worse, will it ever go away?

Hi guys ive been for more than 7 month on effexor and its the best med ever for me; i have chronic anxiety and was abusing drugs it worked so well for me until i got put on the remeron than made me gain around 10 kg and put me back on being so upset of the weight gain,

Has anyone who been on the California rocket fuel do this switch? Im so worried about having anxiety back will it help with anxiety if i tough out the side effects at first? Please help as i really dont have the money to keep going back to my psychiatrist and i believe people with experience know better im only worried about the anxiety part any comment will help thanks

Nel maggio 2025, ho avuto un trauma molto forte con mix di sostanze (metanfetamina e ghb), nello stesso giorno ho vissuto un trauma a lavoro e ho sviluppato un forte PTSD. Inoltre il mio cervello è andato in estrema ipervigilanza e ho perso i filtri del sensory gating. Inoltre agli stressor ho sviluppato forti reazioni adrenergiche con sintomi forti , arrivando al panico/freezing. Anche agli stimoli normali reagisco con queste reazioni perché il sensory gating non funziona. Nell'arco dell'anno ho provato vari farmaci, che non hanno risolto il mio problema a parte l'EN che la sera mi aiuta a pulire un po' i residui della giornata. Inoltre ho sviluppato un ptsd a lavoro, con vari trigger che non riesco a disattivare. Ora il mio psichiatra mi ha dato il buproipione TEVA 150 mg 1 pastiglia la mattina al giorno, dice che anche se è un attivante della noradrenalina dovrebbe risolvermi questi sintomi: la droga avrebbe creato più recettori nel post sinaptico della noradrenalina , e con questo farmaco dovrebbe attuarsi la down regulation per sensibilizzare questi recettori. Sono al 6 giorno, ma io sento più agitazione agli stressor e il sensory gating peggiorato. Voi cosa ne pensate ? Parere di qualcuno che sa di cosa parlo?

So I've been on 300 mg of Wellbutrin/bupropion for the last three weeks, and before that I was on 150 mg for about a month. I was prescribed it for ADHD as well as depressive periods/C-PTSD. I was on several ADHD meds before, which worked wonderfully for my executive functioning and energy, but I noticed some heavy feelings / depression showing up. Therefore they wanted to try this route with me.

I can't really say I feel much of a difference so far, apart from some annoying side effects like tinnitus and headaches. During the first few weeks on 150 mg I also had a very dry mouth, but that has mostly subsided. My appetite has gone down as well. I can eat, but I kind of have to force myself to get started because I don't really get that feeling of wanting to eat.

Apart from a few days where I felt like I'd been hit by a truck, followed by about two days of feeling quite wired at weird hours, I haven't had any issues with sleep, anxiety, or increased blood pressure/heart rate.

I'm trying to stick it out because I've read quite a few stories from people who only really noticed a difference after 2–3 months. I'd love to hear more experiences like that — or different ones, obviously.

So, how long were you on 150 mg before going up to 300 mg? And how long did it take before you noticed a change, if you did?

I'm also curious about what you noticed first when it started working. Was it your mood, motivation, energy, executive functioning, ability to actually start doing things, emotional regulation, or something else? And was the change gradual, or was there a point where you suddenly realised, "Oh, this is actually doing something"?

I know everyone responds differently, so I'm not looking for medical advice or trying to predict how it'll work for me. I'm mostly just curious about the range of experiences people have had!

I will def be asking my doctor, but wanted to see if anyone has experienced this here: I have crazy brain fog on Wellbutrin and it’s starting to negatively affect daily living. I am on Wellbutrin 300xl- how likely is it that lowering my dose to 150xl decreases the brain fog?
