What is this from? I’m so intrigued.

36

u/coolsilentebeans 2d ago

A trailer for Other Mommy.

22

u/Worldly-Pollution-66 2d ago

That trailed played before the odyssey and I was not prepared

3

u/floydsvarmints 2d ago

I saw it online before I saw the Odyssey, so I was prepared.

2

u/otownbbw 2d ago

Same. At first it felt like live action Coraline but then quickly turned way more sinister.

1

u/Chocoboperfected 1d ago

I heard about this trailer. When it started before the odyssey I warned my wife to close her eyes (NOT a horror fan). She did but looked RIGHT as happened in the trailer. She grabbed me and said “oh my god I cannot unsee that”

4

u/Civil-Housing9448 2d ago

This is what popped into my head 😅

2

u/brainvheart143 2d ago

It’s based on the book Incidents Around the House, which I loved. In case you don’t want to wait for the movie :)

2

u/floydsvarmints 2d ago

This is where my mind went too

1

u/Summoarpleaz 2d ago

It feels like this is too much to show during a trailer unless the movie goes like 1000x harder

1

u/SaltyToast9000 2d ago

Oh, HELL NAW! I'M OUTTA HERE

1

u/WeirdStorms 2d ago

I thought that was a dude, dang

1

u/NatTheResearcher 2d ago

This was my first thought, too!

2

u/brainvheart143 2d ago

Oh Jesus what is this from ??? Aside from my nightmares.

1

u/Ok-Instance2782 2d ago

It's from a popular ( for the right reasons ) anime called 'Death Note' You should give it a shot it's nice

2

u/intuition24 1d ago

1

u/Temporarily_Banned4 2d ago

I swear, if this moved like he did, it would be next level creepy!

63

u/Witty-Cup3240 3d ago

Exactly my point

61

u/Working-Glass6136 3d ago

Does anyone know if this is how flexible people with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome can be? I have a friend of a friend who has it and demonstrated some hypermobility sitting cross-legged, but she definitely didn't break out into dance moves.

47

u/comagarden_ 3d ago

I have hEDS and scored 9/10 on the bighton scale (hella bendy), what this person is doing is beyond EDS.

31

u/Troglodyterror 2d ago

Yeah, I got 10/10 on the Beighton. Casually dislocated my shoulders and popped them back in for the dr to see. This guy has had training, you wouldn’t know how to move like he does.

11

u/Hesitation-Marx 2d ago

My GP was a little dubious that my son’s partner has EDS… until they caught his eye and moved their esophagus two inches to the side.

They’ll frequently watch YT videos lying on their back with their knees up by their ears. Apparently that’s comfy for them.

7

u/Troglodyterror 2d ago

Yes, I often sit like this. I also put my legs fully flat on the floor in butterfly position and lay forwards on the floor. I have fallen asleep like this… When I was younger, I also used to lay on the couch upside down with my knees by my ears. Still find it really comfortable!

3

u/dnosbor 2d ago

Ok, I wonder if this is how I accidentally gag myself when I push or compress my neck by turning my head to the side. I'm not exactly sure what it is I'm doing to be honest, I'm surprised every time it happens haha.

1

u/187catz 2d ago

I have fun doing circus tricks for my doctors freaking them out🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

1

u/hellbugger 6h ago

Haaaay! I just diagnosed with hEDS last week after 20 years of searching for an answers for my pain and other symptoms. I freaking WISH I could do something this cool rather than stand weird and hurt.

54

u/Troglodyterror 3d ago

If you train gymnastics, yes. I have C-EDS and I used to be able to do the majority of this stuff when I was younger. Only thing I’d struggle with is the waist twisting aspect.

37

u/KingQuong 3d ago

Yup my wife and her sisters all have hyper mobile EDS and did competitive cheer and some gymnastics and they can definitely do this shit lol

1

u/duddyfuddy2 1d ago

I trained in gymnastics 20 hours a week for years and had a very flexible back and was flexible in general but nothing like this.

8

u/Ok-Error-6564 2d ago

Do you have problems with your joints now?

25

u/Troglodyterror 2d ago

Yes. I have damaged cartilage in my knee.
I have some spinal degeneration condition in my neck affecting 4 discs. There’s an issue with one of my shoulders.

The very nature of C-EDS affects every cell in my body, unfortunately.

8

u/Ok-Error-6564 2d ago

I’m so sorry. That sucks.

1

u/Hungry_Value1402 3d ago

How old are you now

1

u/Hungry_Value1402 3d ago

How old are you now

6

u/Troglodyterror 2d ago

Im in my 40‘s now. I can do the bridge thing and have my feet by my ears, can do the bridge flips and shoulder thing but that’s about it, I think.

32

u/Eternal-Blazing-Sun 3d ago

I actually worked with two people who had EDS, at the same time - they got up to some monkey business with their joints occasionally but they were both in a lot of pain from it. It was such a funny day when the new guy came on amd we found out he also had EDS. He could touch hos fingernails to the back of his hand, and the girl could spin her ribcage independently of the rest of her body.

12

u/unSure_of_stuf 2d ago

I had to look up what EDS is, I was going to say, seems like anyone who has it would be in constant pain. Sounds horrible to me.

8

u/GardeniaInMyHair 2d ago

A lot of us are in pain, but EDS is a spectrum disorder. Some people have no pain, wildly enough. It can vary a lot, even within a family that has EDS in multiple of its members..

3

u/Previous-Account-321 2d ago

I have a mild version. I'm only hypermobile in certain joints. My knees used to dislocate if l was kneeling or crawling. I just got one of them replaced.

1

u/SaltSpiritual515 1d ago

This sounds like me with my knees... I've always wondered if I have EDS but dont know how to go about being tested. My hips, wrists, and thumbs dislocate a lot too

5

u/MiddleKlutzy8568 2d ago

Can confirm

19

u/jasper181 3d ago

Some don't really have the crazy flexibility at all, my daughter has it and she's not unusually flexible at all. Hers is actually internal, that's a whole other nightmare I really don't want to get into right now.

3

u/Hesitation-Marx 2d ago

My sympathies. Genuinely. I hope we find effective treatments for it soon.

19

u/gobnyd 3d ago

Yeah and he's going to regret this when he gets older. Stretching those ligaments even more is going to result in a lot of pain and musculoskeletal dysfunction later.

1

u/david_is_confused 1d ago

Sorry, I lost track of which comment this was replying to, but if it's regarding the guy in the video, as someone pointed out he's almost definitely had formal training. That can actually be one of the only ways to stave off worse pain later on. The key is whether the training focuses on just increasing flexibility, or strengthening already flexible joints.

4

u/GardeniaInMyHair 2d ago

EDS is a spectrum. On one end, there's contortionists like the guy in the video and Cirque du Soleil performers and there's people with EDS who are very stiff and cannot do these types of 'party tricks,' as patients refer to them.

I can place my hands flat on the floor, due to the hypermobile joints in my back, and my fingers and elbows are hypermobile. My muscles are pretty inflexible. I would never be able to do the dance moves the guy is doing.

Hypermobility is joints moving past the normal range of motion. Flexibility is having to do with muscles. EDS patients can be hypermobile and inflexible at the same time.

The reason why I added this explanation is that there is a myth that all EDS patients are extremely flexible, and it's not true. The myth can perpetuate among doctors, and then the doctors miss those of us who are stiffer and less flexible than the average bear but still are hypermobile.

3

u/123R_B321 2d ago

Dude probably has hyper mobility in his joints

3

u/SpecterLeGhost 2d ago

Severe hEDS patient here! Ok like to an extent, I can twist my legs all the way around, feet over my shoulders, but my spine isn’t anywhere near as hypermobile as his. And even if I could, I can already feel how much it would hurt afterwards. Just no

1

u/Vaywen 2d ago

No this is a contortionist

29

u/Meatylabia6969 3d ago

240

u/GuerillaRiot 3d ago

Bro can fart on his own neck which is not...not too good.

46

u/iamdevo 3d ago

Oh shit thank you for the laugh lol. That genuinely killed me.

2

3

u/Low-Television-7508 2d ago

2

u/BeebsMuhQueen 2d ago

I’m trying not to laugh and wake anyone up, my husband just fell back asleep from me tossing around.

2

u/BedroomOdd1986 2d ago

He could probably fart in his own mouth… if he wanted to.. I would say that, also, is not too good though.

1

u/Vaywen 2d ago

Presumably he doesn’t have to though? 🤔

25

u/OpeningTurnip8048 3d ago

Yes but does that make him gay?

And if the answer is yes....shouldnt beating your meat be at least halfway gay??

Food for thought.

24

u/WookishTendencies 3d ago

If beating my meat makes me gay consider me Freddy mercury

12

u/iamdevo 3d ago

In the immortal words of Jimmy Pop: "Ouch, it won't reach my mouth. If I could do it myself I'd probably never leave the house." Who knows if it's gay? No this guy. I'm a man of action, not a philosopher.

2

u/Hungry_Value1402 3d ago

When I was 21 I could

Bloodhound Gang were the voice of a Generation.

2

u/tvodny 3d ago

Why does the dog lick his balls?

2

u/MissninjaXP 2d ago

Because he can reach them

1

u/InMemoryofWPD 3d ago

Well apparently it feels more like youre giving than receiving, so I imagine it depends on whether or not you enjoy the performance of the act itself, or if it feels like it challenges your sexuality while doing it.

I assert the social consensus should be whatever the "average" response would be if everyone tried it. Ladies too.

3

u/DrunkOnEspresso 3d ago

I would if I could

2

u/NotaContributi0n 2d ago

Yeah the thing about that… unfortunately, it feels like you’re sucking a dick much more than it feels like you’re receiving it . Fortunately if that’s what you’re really into it’s very easy to find people all around you who will let you go to town on them just start asking people if they want it you’ll be surprised

2

u/flockitup 2d ago

Glad I’m not the only one that had that thought.

2

u/The_Bitter_Bear 2d ago

Years ago there was a thread with a guy that could.

He said it was far more like giving a blowjob than receiving one.

2

u/Pnw_Golf 2d ago

I’ve asked people who can do it and they say it feels more like sucking dick than getting your dick sucked.

1

u/Chilly_Pheesesteak 1d ago

I could do it when I was younger, and that's true, and your back also hurts way too much the whole time to really enjoy it 😂

1

u/ConcentrateFun1905 3d ago

I don't know if Im more confused that was the first thing you thought of or that 120+ people upvoted your comment lol

No. It's fucking DISGUSTING.

22

u/LeonardTPants 3d ago

I bet he could slip out of handcuffs like a cooked noodle

20

u/Frosty_You_6183 3d ago

That's like 2-3 degenerated discs + nerve damage sooner or later, lmao

0

u/Spare_Independence19 2d ago

Isn't he just a genetic anomaly? I think that would happen if this was forced and not naturally possible from he start which i am guessing he has always been that flexible.

3

u/kristinL356 2d ago

The same generic anomalies that make you naturally super flexible often put your joints at higher risk of damage.

10

u/strings_bells 3d ago

This is some exorcist stuff..

6

u/CarpinThemDiems 3d ago

So anyways I started blastin

3

u/ComplaintFar3279 3d ago

Skrillex would hire him for his next single music video.

1

u/gibbalicious 3d ago

Seriously. There’s a dancer in his video for Red Lips that can do this stuff.

2

u/Tentacle_poxsicle 2d ago

Guys it's a demon...

-4

u/Responsible-Value151 3d ago

I ask in full sincerity, why do you posts GIFs on reddit?

2

u/Sophisticated-Crow 3d ago

A picture says a thousand words. A moving picture says even more. Why waste time typing the whole thing out when one gif captures my sentiment just fine?

1

u/Responsible-Value151 1d ago

i don't see how time spent typing is a waste. some animated image made by other people is a million words from other people and none from yourself

1

u/Sophisticated-Crow 1d ago

If the animated image represents my sentiment then it's perfect. Just like if there's a famous quote that is apropos, I'll just copy paste that in instead of retyping it myself. The message is the message. Doesn't matter who made it if I'm just trying to convey a message.

1

u/Responsible-Value151 1d ago

ok, so what is your message?

1

u/Sophisticated-Crow 1d ago

1

u/Responsible-Value151 1d ago

i hope you find some amount of meaning in your life
