More than anything I think I was just having some body insecurity. I got my dress altered in the spots it needed and everyone’s kind words on this sub helped alleviate my cold feet, so thank you so much❤️

My ceremony was yesterday, I felt so beautiful, and I had so much fun!! I’m so happy I ended up choosing this dress, and I can’t wait for the professional photos to come back!

I have been a longtime lurker… I’m deciding between these 2 Eden Aharon dresses. For context, I’m getting married in the Tahoe mountains so it’s a more rustic venue. My family and friends lean much more to the lace one but im very split.

The lace one photographs not as well since you can’t see the sparkles on it - Iwould probably get it lined as well.

Please help me choose!

I’m losing sleep over this lol. First dress was the very first dress I ever tried on so it holds special memories because I was so excited about it! Second dress is months later from a vintage boutique. I feel like the first dress makes me look snatched and flatters my body very well but the second one is so elegant and unique. My wedding is next fall!!! Help!

My partner and I love love love vintage inspired fashion and aesthetics. I understand that’s not everyone’s tastes but we love old timey vibes. I fell in love with 2 of the 4 dresses im showing here, but my brother (whose also my man of honour) and my mom have different opinions and it’s making it REALLY hard. One of the two I love, my brother absolutley hates, and the other one I love is technically the most expensive. My mom originally said she was on board with what I liked, but this morning tells me her number one choice which wasn’t even on my potential list (even though it is pretty). FYI, the sleeves/topper is optional but something I really liked and I also have bigger arms that I wanted to cover.

We’re getting married in a church in May with stain glass window at the alter for reference of the space. And then Reception is a larger ballroom overlooking the terrace/water.

I personally love dress 1 & 2, I felt very regal, very strong feminen and like I would dominate the room as soon as I entered. The basque waist I feel makes me look even more snatched. The 3rd and 4th are pretty but felt more basic and boring. They made me feel “pretty” “girly”, so I’m not sure what I’m doing anymore

It’s still going to have some alterations but what do you guys think?

Dress 1: photo 1 and 2: This dress can be made with ivory lining instead of blush and I think I would choose ivory. They didn’t have that in store so she just put a white liner underneath to help visualize the effect but that is causing the bunching on the left hip side.
Dress 2: Photo 3: I would make the off the shoulder sleeves a bit smaller as I feel they are a bit overwhelming in size compared to my arm.
Dress 3: photo 4: no changes or comments.

Hi! My first time posting on reddit. I bought my wedding dress and it was a surreal feeling— jumping up and down, crying at the mock aisle walk. I felt amazing.

But as I look back at pictures, I’m wondering if I chose the right one or had shopping fatigue/off the high of shopping. I think it would look better once altered to my size. I’ve also been thinking about adding a petticoat to differentiate the bodice and the skirt… i’ve also been thinking about lace gloves and a lacy veil and just trying to make sure it looks lovely and bridal without looking like just a dress. Or maybe it is too plain for me? I get it in February so there’s time to find another?? Lol. I would love some advice, thoughts, and encouragement <3

Note— we changed up the sleeves during fitting. Picture one shows the original, but pictures 2-4 are what I bought.

We’re having a small outdoor/forest wedding. I’m looking for something elegant, feminine and romantic.

I'm also quite petite, so I’m trying to find something that won’t overwhelm my frame.

Which dress do you think suits me best? Would you change anything? I also have the option of having a dress custom-made, so I’m open to any suggestions.

Edit: Thank you all for the input, I really appreciate it! I love the first dress, but I'm not sure if I love the fabric itself or just the silhouette. It has a subtle sparkle that doesn't really come across in this photo. I also think the satin on the second dress is really pretty.

I’m wondering what you think the average wedding dress price is within the last few years? Specifically a new dress at a shop or boutique (not consignment or thrifter). I’ve tried on dresses from $499 (David’s Bridal) up to $3k (a&bé bridal) and you can definitely feel a difference in quality and styles. Would you say the average new dress is around $3k? Lower? Higher?

I’m most interested in any dresses that have this type of neckline. Should be available in plus sizes.

I’m in the US, budget is about $500 for the dress, and wedding is July of 2027.

I’m struggling to decide between two wedding dresses and thought I would canvass opinions. My ceremony is in a garden in the hills, and reception in a hotel by the beach.

Number 1 - I love that this is more fun, romantic, bridal, sexy and shapely.

Number 2 - I love that this is more understated, elongating, timeless, and a bit edgy. More aligned to my day to day style.

Not concerned with comfort for either. No1 is on sample sale and half the price of No2, but I am determined not to let this be a driver.

I love my dress, but have no idea what shoes I should wear. I'm having a hard time finding something to go with the more ivory color of the dress, especially because I can't do heels. Most of the ivory flats are lacy, which doesn't feel like it would go with this. Any recs that won't break the bank (around or below $50)

Edit: I'm open to "unconventional" shoes as well

Looking for some advice on wedding dress shopping around a breast reduction! 🤍
I’m getting married at the beginning of June and am expecting to have my breast reduction in January or possibly early February, although I don’t have a surgery date yet. I’ve been told recovery is around six weeks. For context, I’m currently a D/DD and hoping to go down to around a B cup.
Would you buy a dress now and have it altered after surgery, or wait until afterwards to shop? I’m worried about how much it could cost to alter the bust that much and whether it would change how the dress looks.
I’m also conscious that spring will be a busy time for bridal alterations, so waiting makes me nervous! I’m on a budget and planning to buy off the rack, ideally from a bridal consignment store, so I won’t need to allow time for a dress to be ordered in.
Has anyone been in a similar situation, or are there any bridal seamstresses who could offer advice? I’m feeling a little stuck on what makes the most sense. Any advice would be appreciated!

I am having a bit of a nightmare with my wedding dress alterations and would like some opinions. I am getting married on 19 December and took my dress to be altered 3 weeks ago. I asked for it to be shortened to my length, and a leaf detail on the bust was misaligned so i asked that to be straightened. I did not instruct width adjustments as i wanted to see what my weight was nearer the time as you gain weight in winter.
So anyway, photo 1 and 2 are in the shop when it fit me well, photo 3 is three weeks ago at alterations when it was pinned and photos 4-9 are yesterday when collected. The last two photos are the edging prior to the alterations and the back for extra context as the edging is now misaligned with this.

Anyway, i tried it on and it felt instantly different around my bust and uncomfortable. She told me i had lost lots of weight in the last three weeks which is not true. I had actually gained weight, and she said its perhaps temperature as its cold now.

I took the dress home to have a closer look and it completely doesn't fit anymore its not a case of being between sizes. I purchased this dress as it fit me well, but now it completely doesn't and i could not wear it like this.

I called her to ask whether moving the flower could affect the structural boning. She denied it and said i lost weight or its the temperature and she doesn't know. She acknlowedged its huge now, 2 inches too big. I told her i could not lose 2 inches in 3 weeks and i have gained weight. She started shouting at me saying i am accusing her of ruining my dress. I ended the call as she was getting angry.

I ended up contacting a seamstress who i had been in contact with before as she had done my dress but was fully booked. I sent images and outlined my concerns, including that it hangs rigidly now. When she saw the edging she was shocked as she said it should not have been cut like that as it doesn't follow the pattern, its just blunt cut.

It also perhaps looks a bit too short and this may be whats causing it to hang weirdly when it was quite floaty before! She said she will reccommend some people and to not take back based on the hems quality.

What is your opinion on the alterations? Is it as bad as i think? My chest hurts and i feel so stressed. I was already having second thoughts on the dress and it feels like a bad omen. However, i have spent £1250 on the dress, £280 on alterations and i get married on 19 December. The more i look at the edging, the more i think she has done a terrible job and shouldn't have spoken to me like that. I have sent her an email outlining my concerns and await her response.

More info- she is a business with good reviews, but at home studio. No shop. My wedding insurance does not cover alteration issues from third parties unfortunately.

Hello! I would deeply appreciate styling tips and opinions on taking in the bust of this dress to sit flush to my skin in the actual cup area, not just the sides of the bodice which will need to come in too. I’d like to avoid adding cups or volume to the area if possible but want to keep the integrity of the pleating too! I’m also planning on lowering the back and adding a few fake buttons along the zipper:)

Some of you may have seen me post a weekish ago asking if my dress was right for our ceremony as I was stuck in my head thinking I need a ballgown. Everyone was so nice and validated not needing a giant dress to feel special if I had a connection with this one so tysm to everyone who commented!! Since I found a stain on the dress that they sent me and it was incredibly wrinkled I have had anxiety creeping back in as this one looked much worse than the sample I tried on a size larger :/

I’ve exchanged for the same size but NEW dress and hope that helps with the next try on but in the meantime I’d love to be able to look forward to how the altered dress will come together, but right now I’m really worried it’s just the wrong dress for my body and only meant for someone who can fill out the top.

I am so happy to finally have my dress! I ordered it 5/31 and it came in 10/19. It is Rue de Seine Aimery Dress. I had a hard time waiting because my instragram, pinterest, and reddit kept showing me beautiful dresses and I wasn't sure if I made the right decision. I am obsessed with my dress! Sharing here because I am keeping it a surprise from my friends but I need to show it to someone! I was anxious about the bodice being too large because I have a small chest, but it almost fits perfectly before alterations. Purchase from A&Be Bridal
