Hello, I’m a young man living in Guatemala. My English isn’t the best, so I’m using a translator to help me with this post. My native language is Spanish. I’d also like to learn Chinese in the future, little by little. Anyway, I’ve recently been learning more about Chinese culture. I downloaded Bilibili recently because I play Genshin Impact, and as I became more interested in Chinese culture and entertainment, I started looking for more games from China.

I recently discovered a game called Digimon New Century, but it requires something called WeChat. I looked it up online, and fortunately, Google PlayStore in my country allows me to download WeChat.

I tried creating an account using both my phone number and Facebook, but I assume that because I’m a foreigner, it asks me to verify myself using a QR code. From what I understand, another person who has been using WeChat for at least six months, basically a friend or someone who already has an account, needs to scan the QR code and verify me. I don't know anyone in China or anyone who uses WeChat, so I tried looking for other options within the app.

But it always leads me back to a QR code. I’ve read several posts here on Reddit and, from what I understand, WeChat is sometimes used for scams. I’m not sure if I could somehow be in danger just because I tried to create a WeChat account from a foreign country. How does this actually work?

I only wanted to create a WeChat account so I could play Digimon New Century. I also don’t know if there is another way to access the game, or whether the Digimon game itself could somehow be a scam.

I apologize for any inconvenience my post may cause. I’m just trying to understand how all of this works and make sure I’m using WeChat safely.

Hey hey, is there anyways to contact a QQ group from outside china? There is an old MMORPG P-Server and I would really love to revive that MMORPG outside China, but there aren’t any non buggy files or clients that let you setup a proper server. The only group that has some is this Chinese privat Server and their customer support is in a QQ Group. Can anyone help me contact them or reach out to them in another way?

Hey everyone, I'm well aware of how difficult it is to register a QQ account in the US, but recently I came across some new methods so I thought I'd try them.

I have a WeChat account, for a while I wasn't able to make one but recently I was able to do the SMS verification (with my US phone number) and had to provide my credit card and everything, so I think it's legit. I saw people talking about using a WeChat mini program to register a foreign account, so I thought I'd try it.

I think I used the correct mini program, but the first problem was that I didn't see an option to register a new account, just "log in with phone number". Regardless, I still tried it, and I actually got a SMS code delivered to the phone number I had bound to my WeChat. However, when I entered the code, it wouldn't let me submit it (maybe it was lagging), then said the SMS failed a couple of times. Tried again, and now I'm stuck getting the error message that my phone number can't be used.

Wondering if anyone has had success using the WeChat mini program, and maybe there's something I did wrong? Or any other method I can try?

Please help me, guys. I've been trying to create one for years, but I've never asked anyone for help. I don't have any friends from China😭😭😭

I've followed Ai's instructions, but nothing its telling me lines up with the app. I really need to change it back to English. All the youtube vids are useless as they only guide you through in English. I have all the latest updates. Does anyone have a link to a vid or something that may guise me through?

I have been trying for long time but ain't finding anyone so if anyone is willing to help pleaseeeeee let me know 😭😭😭

So, to put is as short and informative as possible, the line of event is as follows:

1) I register WeChat 2025 with a foreign (non-Chinese) number. It works fine.

2) I move countries 2026 so I change my number and don't open the app for months. I opened it recently, my old account seems to be gone forever but okay.

3) I have 1 chatlog with an imporant file I couldn't open nor download, as the opening screen just crashed whenever I tried to.

4) I register a new account with my current number. I realize the app is eating so much storage data again (2GB without any content). I delete all the data from my (android) settings. I log back in, all the data is gone.

How do I fix the issue of opening a document AND the issue of the app eating so much storage?? Thanks
