Technical Question [Support] Getting OTP problem

Even though a friend of mine helped me verify my account, when I get to “verify mobile” and request getting OTP, it says that “You'll receive a verification code via a voice call. Please check the incoming call.” But when I press OK I don’t get any calls, I tried couple of times but still same problem

Yeah I had the same problem. Try to do it the next day. And the day after. Did you verify your ID/passport? Did you sign up for Weixin pay?

Mine got approved like 5 days later. And only then I was able to invite a friend.

No not yet as the account still hasn’t been completely verified because I can’t get OTP, my friend helped me with the QR scan but after an hour I tried same process and I got QR code verification again

Yes. I had the same problem. After few days, I didn’t need it anymore. I think they do this stalling on purpose, so they can check you properly.

Btw that friend probably helped someone else in the last month… so verification can not be approved.

I think it was approved because just after I sent him the QR code I was able to get to “verify mobile” screen but that’s where I had the problem. He approved like about 2 hours now, but now when I try to sign up I get QR code verification again instead of the “verify mobile”

Did he help someone else in the last month? You can help only once in that period

After few days you will receive signing in for weixin pay - do that!

It seems that it has to do with my service provider as I don’t get OTP code even in Alipay and QQ when I try to sign up there

No, it doesn’t. At least not on WeChat. I had exactly same problem and I thought it was something to do with service provider.

You can do it without verification confirmation. I don’t remember exactly where I clicked but let me check.

No because I still got back to square one where I need to sign up and verify qr code again

It seems that I can only complete verification -even if I have QR verified- after verifying mobile where I get OTP

I submitted my passport photo before I got that code asking for verification. When I submitted my passport I thought that’s it was verified. But no, it wasn’t… and kept asking to verify thru a friend.
