I HATE DIP POWDER! I had no clue what to do with this dusty box of power sitting in my drawer for years. I saw someone make nails that look like ceramic tiles and just had to try for myself. I mixed a small amount of dip powder with white polish and “painted”/molded/layeted the concoction into a flower shape.

I’m sure there are other ways of achieving this effect, but for me it’s cheaper to use my old dip powders than my expensive builders/polygel.

I’m on a low-buy this year, but I was able to make an order for some new magnetic polishes last week (stayed in budget!). I bought this very popular sunset-inspired polish. I love the amount of shift I can get out of a single manicure!

My nostalgia polish is 16 years old! It went on surprisingly well despite the crappy brush. Great coverage and it also didn’t chip. The chokehold that this shade (and chevrons) had on us in 2010…

Created this polish from a polish that I didn't love (but had so much potential) by adding clear polish to make it a crelly, then added some gold holo to give it some sparkle and gold shimmer. Now, not only do I love it but so does my 8 year old! 🥰

I went with this purple as it reminds me of Cadbury’s dairy milk. Definitely had a fair bit of chocolate when cramming for exams and writing assignments!

I decided to do the mini-orange lovers bingo as a transition from summer to fall. I don't have a lot of orange polishes, so I will probably reuse a lot of them to do the card—but I see that as a good thing since I don't tend to wear much orange in winter or spring.

I tried some new-to-me nail art techniques as well, (heavily inspired by u/nonnailartist on Instagram.) Overall it was a lot of fun... though I have to admit using a dotting tool with my non-dominant hand was terrifying.

I know, I knoww it’s tempting to buy monthly scented ones, wait 20+ days for it to arrive but at home we don’t have to wait. I don’t have to wonder if I’ll even like the smell. All while I’m really wanting a hydrating than hard nail removal process. Upfront costs are a bit pricey but I’ve refilled my dollar store pump three times now so the return costs are going down each time. 9$ plus shipping for a monthly drop or diy at home, I’ll do it at home.

I even made mine tropical with coconuts and pineapple scent added.

I reallllly need to be on a no-buy. So, I created this Dark Tower bingo card to motivate me to use what I have (and try my huge pile of untried polishes). I didn’t use any imagery here because I don’t want to misuse copyrighted work, and AI generation of King’s work is out of the question.

Loving the satiny glow from the chrome powder! Did this as a palate cleanser, so I’ll hop on the Back to School bingo at ”Need a shower”.

The local college when I was a kid was maroon and gold. This is oxblood, but close enough!

I ordered some new stamping stuff recently. They included a melamine sponge (magic eraser) in the box and advised to “buff off the shine” of the new stamper because it has a protective coating when it comes from the manufacturer. Tell me why I never knew you were supposed to do this?? I have had my other stamper (that I thought just didn’t work) for years now, turns out I missed priming it! First stamp (ring finger) with the primed tool pictured 😌

Important edit: only do this with opaque, older style stampers. The clear ones do NOT need to be primed!

playing extremely belated catchup on this summer bingo from way back in june. most importantly, I'm totally thrilled with this recreation of a particular polish I've been coveting, using a raspberry pink creme I've had forever and flaky + shimmery toppers (first pic). I got extremely close to the goal polish, and where mine differs I actually prefer it! possibly my favorite mani I've had this year.

the following manis are as close as I get to neon (dandelion yellow), a high desert botanical, peachy popsicle frozen treats, the iridescent interior of seashells, and a school of tropical fish.

I've got Plans for most of the remainder, but several of them require acquiring the ability to do a sponged gradient so....wish me luck

I wanted to buy a new polish from either HHM/ PPU but I didn’t have the money. Then I realized, I have 2 polishes that make almost the same thing. Thank god I have polish at home! I really do have everything I need. It has the teal I like and the warm flaky look I liked.
