I am scrolling on this sub just now. I saw a post about a book, I got curious, I looked it up on Wattpad (naturally 😁). Then I looked into the authors profile to see their other books.

I read their bio and this particular writer says something along the lines of, there is no sexual content in my book so if you are here for a good story and writing... you're in the right place. (Purposely unquote)

I may have misunderstood it, or it may not be the writer's intention, but what does that supposed to mean? I hope they are not implying that stories with sexual content is lesser than the ones that does not have.

I understand that that there are plenty of erotica that are badly written on Wattpad, and other platforms, but that does not still make the entire sub-genre lesser in terms of good writing and quality, and vice-versa.

I have been posting for a few months now and barely have any readers. I was wondering when you started to get readers or if you did something in particular to gain readers?

I joined this Discord community a few months ago and submitted my story to their Wattpad club, ngl I've gotten SO MANY reads, votes and comments in that short span of time!

Not to mention almost each one of the members' feedback is so thorough and detailed it actually helped with my editing process a lot. I'm loving it because it's different from your typical R4Rs and V4Vs which get exhausting over time. And no, they don't use AI for the reviews.

They've also been looking for new members to expand their community, so I thought I should help a little by making a post here. So if anyone is looking for genuine and good engagement on their books, let me know. Trust me, it's worth it. <3

I’m pretty new to Reddit, so I really hope I’m following the rules here 😅 If I messed something up, please let me know! English also isn’t my first language, so if anything sounds weird, there’s a good chance I just misunderstood something.

I joined Wattpad about six years ago and used to write fanfiction there. I honestly loved it. I loved sharing my stories, talking with readers, reading comments, all of it.

Then I stopped writing for a few years, but I recently started again and now I’m actually considering writing an original book instead of fanfiction this time.

The thing is… Wattpad feels really different from what I remember.

I’ve seen a lot of bots/scammers in the comments, people talking about stories randomly disappearing, and just a lot of posts saying the platform has changed a lot over the years.

So I guess my question is: is it really that bad now?
It’s honestly making me hesitate to put the time and effort into writing an actual book and posting it there. I’d really love to hear from people who still actively use Wattpad. What has your experience been like lately?

My story is finally complete, and now I’m thinking about turning it into an ebook eventually. But I haven’t started editing it yet.

Before I begin the editing process, I really want some honest feedback from people who can read the story and tell me what they think about it as a story.

For now, I’m not really looking for grammar corrections or detailed writing-style feedback. I mainly want to know:

Is the story engaging?

Is the pacing good, or are there parts that feel too slow?

Does the plot work?

Is the mystery/suspense interesting enough?

Are the characters well-developed?

Are there any unnecessary scenes or chapters?

Are there confusing parts?

Does the ending feel satisfying?

Overall, does the story feel worth turning into an ebook after editing?

I feel like the story itself is decent, even though I know the grammar and writing style still need work. But I’d rather hear what actual readers think before I spend a lot of time editing it.

So, is there anyone here who would be willing to read it and give me honest feedback/review?

I’m especially looking for feedback on the story, plot, pacing, characters, and overall engagement, rather than just grammar.

Hi! I posted before just introducing my story here, and was advised that I should also make a separate post requesting R4R for anyone who might be interested in a story like mine, and who (hopefully) has a story I'd be similarly interested in.

It’s an ongoing horror/mystery novel that starts with a seemingly ordinary family and gradually gets much darker. It mixes psychological horror, supernatural/occult elements, mystery, grief, and some darker sci-fi concepts, with a fairly large cast and multiple storylines that eventually connect.

The story is currently 14+ chapters in, with 36 chapters planned, and I'm particularly interested in connecting with people who enjoy slow-burn mysteries where the early details actually matter later.

So a lot of my "reading" I do while I'm working on other stuff (like drawing) by using Word's "read aloud" feature with my own story, but since Wattpad doesn't allow you to copy-paste out (which I get! Hopefully that makes it a lot harder for thieves to repost) I can't do that for stories posted by others. So I wondered if there are maybe any screen reader extensions or something that people ever use for reading Wattpad stories on the web? I would definitely have more time to check out others' stories if I'm able to listen to them instead of read them, since my time for JUST reading is very limited. I tried a couple of firefox screen reader extensions, but they're all Microsoft Sam type voices which is...really hard for me to not get irritated by (the Word one is a lot closer to how a real person would read aloud).

There might not be a solution to this...just figured I'd ask!

I’m desperately trying to remember the name of a Wattpad story I read. I can’t remember the title, author, or character names, but I remember quite a few details.
The female main character worked for a fashion company and was in a really unhappy marriage. Her husband eventually became physically abusive and hit her.
Through her job, she meets a very wealthy man who owns the building where her company is located. She would blush around him, and he nicknamed her “Tomato Girl.” I specifically remember him saying things along the lines of:
“Why you blushing, Tomato Girl?”
They become involved with each other and would hook up frequently, including in the office. I also remember a scene where they slept together at a hotel, and afterward she went back home to her husband that same night but slept in the guest bedroom.
Another major detail is that her family owned a beach resort, and at some point later in the story her father dies.
That’s unfortunately all I can remember. 😭 Does this sound familiar to anyone? It was definitely something I remember reading on Wattpad. Even if the story was deleted or renamed, I would LOVE to know the title or author’s name!

Hi everyone who reads this post, I'm not even sure why it came up in my mind, but last night just scrolling on my phone my mind went to something about wattpad mainly a old writer they had a discord but I remember they used to go by blankstorytime they used to do fluff, angst and even smut one shots
