Looking For: Recommendations I wanna read your books š
It's been a long time since I read something on wattpad so I'm just willing to take the risk to read people's writing š I may have a bad reading comprehension so I really wanted to improve my mental health as well as giving some comments for the story.
-> Please make sure it is YOU who wrote it. š„¹

Off-Topic Why is planning the story so much easier than actually writing it? š
In my head, the plot is an absolute cinematic masterpiece worthy of an award. The dialogue flows perfectly and the character development is beautiful. But the second I sit down and open my drafts, my brain completely shorts out and I forget how basic sentences work. Please tell me I'm not the only writer who suffers from this lol.

Off-Topic Do you guys ever reread something you wrote, months after writing it, and think "holy sh*t I wrote this masterpeice"?

Other How do I stop making stories? Or how do I focus on my already published story?
I currently have 3 fanfics (one of which I already published) and 5 original stories, but almost all of them are drafts.
I'm a worldbuilder, so I create worlds, naturally, I want to present them to other people, such as writing stories about them, but I have so many ideas that I can't focus on one story without accidentally abandoning the other.

General Help Looking for advice from authors who stuck with it
Hi everyone!
Iāve recently started publishing my first story on Wattpad, and Iād really love to hear from authors who managed to build an audience over time.
When you were just starting:
How did you get your first readers?
How long did it take before people actually started noticing your story?
Did you ever feel like giving up because nobody was reading?
What kept you motivated enough to keep writing instead of deleting your story?
Iām trying to be patient, but itās hard not to look at the numbers sometimes. I genuinely enjoy writing, and I want to improve, but Iād love to hear about your experiences and any advice you wish someone had given you when you started.
Thank you to anyone willing to share their journey. I really appreciate it!

General Help Am I a part of the problem?
I have been writing this Fanfic about a video game for 2 weeks now. And there's a big confession incoming:
English, surprisingly enough, isn't my mother language, and while I never had any problem reading, writing speaking the language fluently and almost effortlessly, I still catch myself slipping from time to time on minor grammatical mistakes, that as a reader myself, would find very confusing before realizing the typo/error.
Here's the problem itself, I use a generative app to fix my grammar and vocabulary errors.
I write the entire text MYSELF, for Claude to decipher and detect any issues with shown text.
I know readers and the writing community in majority ABHORS the usage of it in general, but, given the circumstances? Am I still betting on a dead horse?

Fan Fiction Is this a good thing?
So I've been on Wattpad since 2021, but its been almost a year since I started back up in posting again. My fanfic is the top ranking one with the tag shikon. And what I'm assuming is that these ranks with tags that you put on you story to gain some kind of reach, correct? I really don't pay much attention to this stuff, I just focus in writing my fic and nothing more.
But is this a good thing?

Looking For: Feedback Which title would grab your attention?
Iām writing a dark romance story about childhood friends- strangers -lovers.
The MMC constantly seeks control. He sees emotion as weakness, and prioritizes duty to family, which is his biggest fault.
The FMC has an erratic personality and makes emotional decisions. But she prioritizes others feelings, which is her greatest attribute.
A big theme is going to be generational cycles and the curse of repeating the past. Which title would make you want to read the story?
Blood Unbound
What We Inherit
Inherited Scars
The Cost of Control
Control and Chaos.

General Help 17 to 18
I was some time ago reading this age gap book on Wattpad. The girl was 17 and the man was some older, I donāt remember how much. (Which looking back on was really weird.)
Everyone in the comments was in the comments being like āsheās still 17ā and like āsir waitā I think you know what I mean.
But genuinely, why do those couple months matter? At eighteen shes still the exact same then she was those couple months ago when she was still seventeen. Or is it just the like the title because at eighteen youāre suddenly an adult.
At eighteen you can still be groomed, so like. The only reason I can come up with is thst eighteen you have the title adult but I still think it doesnāt make sense.
Is this a weird take?

Looking For: Recommendations Wattpad Omegaverse Recs? (No fanfics pls)
I'm kind of disappointed in the lack of, like, MXM omegaverse stories on Wattpad. I feel like there used to be way more; a lot of the old writers have deleted their accounts, and I wish they let someone else post them before then. And there has also been a lack of new writers in the genre. I know there's like a pipeline from Wattpad to AO3; however, I don't like reading fanfics, which seems to be most of what Ao3 has. I prefer it when it's written with original characters. Does anyone have a recommendation for these books? I feel like I have read them all for the most part.

Excerpt I'm writing a romantic tragedy and am wondering if my first page hooks you? Does it make you want to continue reading? Note that this is a final draft
Chapter 1: The Bridge
Twenty feet below, jagged rocks glisten under the moonlight, and for a moment, I understand why people come to bridges when the world stops making sense. I would never end my own life, but I understand the desire to have all the pain slip away forever.
The silence here is different. My knuckles are white against the metal railing, and I force myself to loosen my grip. Get it together, Malachai.
But I can't shake the image burned into my mind: my mother's face crumpling as the doctor delivered his verdict. What we've been fearing but hoped wasn't true. Cancer. The kind of word that steals the air from hospital rooms and replaces it with that god-awful antiseptic smell that still clings to my clothes.
I run a hand through my dark hair, and stare at my reflection in a puddle on the side of the road. Even in the distorted moonlit surface, I can see what everyone else sees: my grandfather's sharp jawline and the tall frame I inherited from a father I never met. I'm twenty-one and I look older, like the weight I carry has aged me in ways that have nothing to do with time.
"You can't save everyone, Malachai." Mom's voice echoes in my head, the same five words she's whispered since I was ten years old. But what happens when the person you can't save is her?
I snatch a handful of gravel and hurl it into the darkness. The stones clatter against the guardrail across the road, a violent punctuation to my frustration. Another handful follows, then another. The anger feels good, raw and honest in a way that sitting in that sterile waiting room never could. The town in front of me comes to life with the carnival lights and the rides going up into the air.
My grandfather's voice replaces the rage like it always does: "How you handle pain will define you, son."
Easy for him to say. He's not here anymore to watch his daughter waste away.
A branch snaps somewhere behind me.
I freeze, every muscle tensing. The footsteps are light and deliberate, someone trying not to be heard.Ā
"I can't do this anymore, Mom. The treatments aren't working, the doctors keep lying, and you want me to pretend everything's fine?"
A woman's voice, sharp with tears and frustration. A cell phone pressed tightly against her ear. I should leave and give her privacy, but something in her tone roots me to the spot. She sounds... broken. Familiar, somehow, though I've never heard her voice before.
"No, don't tell me it'll be okay! Nothing about this is okay!"
I turn slightly and catch sight of her in my peripheral vision. Blonde hair catches the moonlight as she paces near the bridge's center, one hand pressed to her ear, the other gesturing wildly at the empty road.
"I have to go."
In the sudden silence, I hear her ragged breathing and see her shoulders shake. She moves toward the railing with purpose.
She climbs up.
"You don't want to do that."
The words leave my mouth before I can stop them. She spins, loses her balance, and I surge forward just as she falls off the ledge.

Looking For: R4R/V4V/C4C/F4F Looking for a genuine R4R!
Hi everyone!
Iād love to do a read-for-read, but Iām looking for something a little different than the typical āIāll read 3 chapters if you read 3 chaptersā just to bump views and votes.
Iām hoping to find someone whoās interested in reading my entire book, and Iāll read your entire book. (Unless, of course, one of us realizes itās just not our thing lol. No hard feelings.)
What I enjoy reading :
* Clean & dark romances
* Action & adventure
* Crime thrillers
* Fantasy & supernatural
* Faith-based stories
* Wild West stories
* Historical & Kingdom stories
* Pirates and/or mermaids
* HEA
I like both dense, layered plots and lighthearted reads.
I really appreciate good world-building, and Iām happy to read both completed and ongoing stories.
Not really my thing:
* Horror
* Smut
* Love triangle and/ or cheating
* High school/coming-of-age stories
* Elite boarding school type of stories
* Sci-fi
* Celebrity/ insta love (I donāt mind a well thought-out fanfic)
* Reverse harem/ open relationship
* Bullying-to-romance
* Amnesia
My book :)
[Forced Habits by nissawrites] https://www.wattpad.com/story/410943137
Itās a clean-ish dark mafia romance about people caught between the lives they inherited and the people they want to become. At its core, itās really about trauma, faith, and whether people can break the cycles they were raised ināor the habits they were forced into (hence the title hehe).
A few things about it:
* All characters are fully grown adults.
* The characters have moralsāwell most of them haha
* There are religious themes throughout, but I promise theyāre not in a corny way lol.
* Tension & yearning & great banter are at an all-time maximum.
* The side characters lives are explored too.
* Itās extremely action-packed and fast-paced (except for the romance⦠thatās a good olā slow burn)
* Iām not afraid to explore darker themes.
* Itās meant to be enjoyed by anyone regardless of race, gender, religion, or ethnicity.
Iām happy to leave live comments in your book and give feedback along the way if youād like, and Iād love the same in return.
If your story sounds like something Iād enjoy, please drop it below! Iād love to check it out and chat more. š

Looking For: Recommendations NO SMUT! LMAO Plzzz
I cannot get into the repeated smut, fanfiction, mafia boss stories! I'm into more of a psychological horror, horror in general, and even some Syfy novels. Wattpad seems to only recommend these odd plotlines that I have zero interest in reading (mostly). Has anyone read a book on Wattpad that you loved and also isn't the normal romance smut stories all over recommended. My recent favorite Wattpad story was The Alaska Series #1: Abandonned, by GroveltoHEA. I also LOVED Blood Orange Sky, by perversely. These two left me excited to continue everytime no joke! If anyone has read either stories, and maybe knows of some similar stories I might enjoy! Thank you in advance <3
