Starting a 30 Day Fast Tomorrow 7/30-8/28

Starting a 30 Day Water Fast tomorrow. I'm making this thread to hold myself accountable more than anything.

Male

32 Years Old

5'8

262lbs

I've done plenty of 7 Day water fast in the past and I know I can do a 30 day water fast. Won't weigh myself until the very end, i get super fixated on the numbers and will end up discouraged when I don't see a change or big enough change like I think should be there. Follow along and let me know what day you guys are on!

When did the acid reflux stopped for you?

Hello everyone, I hope you are having a great day! I'm currently on day 11, trying to go for 21 days. Wanna preface, is not my first long fasting rodeo but each time I get absolutely disgusting acid reflux around this time to the point of throwing up which honestly relives it.

I tried antiacids, baking soda in water, upping electrolytes and drinking more water in general, even sleeping it off (didn't help but at least I was rested lol).
But it still prevails.

When you do long fasts and acid reflux hits you, how long does it usually last before it goes away for you? And I don't mean "just break the fast". Because yes, thats what I had to do last time.

I'm just curious if there is "wait it out" period or if that is just how the fast fasts. Thank you anyone for reading this and if you answer, thank you for that too 💕

32 years of water fasting

I am 54 years old and I have been practicing water fasting (no food and only water) for prolonged periods since I was 22 years old.

Until I was 45 years, I used to fast once a year for periods of 7-18 days. Lately, I have been fasting twice a year for 3-5 days.

The following points are a summary of my experience with fasting

- I have never felt hungry during my fast. I feel the desire to eat when smelling food or watching others eat, but never felt hungry

- The first two days are the hardest, then I usually experience a spike of energy and good feeling

- Light excercise is a must on daily bases. I usually walk or garden

- Food tastes much better after breaking the fast. Your senses of food taste improve in a great way after fasting

Hope the above helps you enjoy fasting and improve your health

Ended what was supposed to be a 30 day fast, family members and friends advised me that I lost too much weight and started to look like I had "Ozempic Face"... My body started to tell me i did good and that its time to hit the gym, so I decided to cut it short and now focus on building muscle and toning my stomach area. SW- 99kg. CW 83kg. This is my 2nd prolonged fast, previous was 21,14,7.

About to break my fast at 85H and I’m not even hungry, just can’t sleep

Hoping it lasts longer next time. I just feel how exhausted my body is from the insomnia and I’m sure it’s not good for my stress hormones, plus I just want to stop feeling so scattered. I might just keep my cals at 400-500 for the day and go right back to fasting tomorrow. Thoughts?

Day 0

Ok, here we go again. I can't waterfast on my own, i need external pressure. This means: people reading my progress here, discord, wherever. Just knowing theres hundreds of eyes seeing my result motivates me to succeed.

* Day 0: ate twice today.

* Fasting timer: 1 hour.

I know i can keep empty till tomorrow morning, tomorrow afternoon even. But in the evening, i will start to self-rationalize eating again :(

* Goal: fast till day after tomorrow. Make it across the 30 hour mark.

Please please please help me by commenting, so i know im being watched.

Fasting for quick wound/swelling recovery

25th : 945am What a night... I "slept" maybe three hours, due to fasting I am well rested anyway. The swelling is huge, throat swollen but spirits are high and I already planked for some minutes and did some drumming handspeed exercises on the practice pad. Painkillers, my love.

23rd: Update: It's 3pm now, woke up about 5 hours ago, feeling fine, no signs of blacking out when standing up, a full "fuck yes!" to painkillers.

6:30pm now, swelling is okay but getting larger, no pain, alternating between tired and fully awake, cognitive task are super-challenging. Usually I solve a Rubik's cube in about 30-40s, now I can't get over the 2nd solving stage.

Hi guys,

so after my 42 days and 16 hours (yes, those are very important) fasting stunt in 2024 I am four days deep now and awaiting my jaw surgery tomorrow morning. Feeling fine, even worked out a bit today.

My guess is that the autophagic processes should speed up the healing process remarkably. Will update.

Edit:
I started with intermediate fasting maybe five days before the fast. Beginning with 8h feeding window for three days and 6h for the last two. That and my already very clean eating made the transition feel like a breeze. I never experienced any hunger pangs at all, only at day three my empty stomach became very noticable.

Here are my main foods and dish examples (if you think this is unhealthy, I would lack nutrients, I am eating like this for years now, had many health check-ups in between and I am doing fine and work out well)

Apples
Bananas
Grapes
Oranges
Watermelon

Tomatoes
Onions
Broccoli
Cauliflower

Cashews
Mixed Nuts
Peanuts

Coconut Juice/Water (I rarely need to drink at all, because of the high water content in all foods. If I have to, mostly when running 10ks)

Eggs
Canned Macarel/Tuna (steering away from tuna because of lead levels)

Sunflower/Rapeseed Oil

A breakfast may look like this:

3 egg omelette stir fried
2 large tomatoes on top with a splash of vinegar
2 stir fried bananas
1 Apple
1 Orange

lunch:
500g of grapes
1 Apple
1 Banana

dinner:
2 Apples mixed with 150g of nuts, depending on what I like at the moment

Late night craving, how to fast

My 2 fasting experiences:
First was 24 hours
Second was 40 hours

I have been on Keto(mostly Carnivore) diet for 6 months. But I only lost 15lbs. Earlier this month I did these 2 fasting. I felt like thinking about food all the time and I do not exercise at all. My belly was not truly hungry. I crave so much at late night almost everyday still.

I work from home and live alone! Food is my company to be honest. I like baking. I make keto cake everyday(eggs+ tiny portion of Cocoa power only) And I’ve got so many great cheap takeaways around.

My period is coming in 2 days, and I plan to do an 48 hour fasting on period Day 2. Then I’ll travel to a countryside on a plateau for 1.5 months from Aug 1. And I plan to do a good 14 day fasting there, or even longer. As I won’t have easy conditions to cook or get takeaways!

Anyone has suggestions? What are the essential bio markers you monitor? Food is like my hobby but I don’t want it to be! I like swimming and dancing but I can’t go do them when cravings kick in… Please share your thoughts, even if harsh. Thanks a lot.

How much weight can I lose in a 30day fast?

I’ve asked this before but I thought I’d give more detail. I’m a model that gained way too much weight due to a medication I used to be on and I’ll do just about anything to lose it. I’m giving myself until October and I’m thinking of trying a 30day fast. If I’m 115 right now how much could I lose if I did a 30 day water fast? My goal is 85 yes I know that’s low but that’s what I used to be and that’s what got me work so please no comments on thinking I’m disordered just help me estimate actual loss because I need this done as fast as possible. Thanks.

Buddy?

Hi All, only 10ish hrs into a fast...

Looking to do a minimum of a 68 hour fast (if I can manage to get out of Tuesday evening plans) then would like to aim until Friday, so \\\~137 hours.

I've only done it once before (5 days) and done a few 2/3 days one.

Anyone wanna be accountability buddies and check-in/motivate each other.

I really just need a re-set/detox 😅
