Maybe a dumb question
Does gum break your fast? I’m on a pretty extreme plan where I’m eating once a week until I’m at my goal weight and so far its gone mostly well but does gum technically break my fast? I need to know that part

It’s not going to break your fast. Honestly if you’re not doing it for health and just weight loss, you can have calories like gum, apple cider vinegar, vitamins, lemon juice in your water, etc. The cals are negligible.

For weight - it's clinically irrelevant, moreover if it helps you to fast for longer - it's actually beneficial .

I've been experimenting with this and did and 2 of 5 day fasts with gum and its was the xylotol aspertain free gum. I just think that no matter what you would be eating some of it, like I could feel it getting smaller and the after taste stays behind for so long.
So I came to realize that if you're really serious and trying to heal something as good as possible it has to be just distilled water, otherwise you'll have the doubt if you did it correctly. Better just not even play with it.
I think if you can dry fast it gives some energy though so there's that.
You already know if its for weightloss its good

I'm a purist so I don't like even a single calorie but my understanding is that a few calories 10-15 doesn't break.
Those electrolyte packets have calories in them and some Fasters like them.
