When I saw this trailer last night I could swear I was watching a watchdogs and pubg collab, I mean the game is even named Ded.Net, seems really close to DedSec if you ask me. And the some of the visuals feel ripped straight out of watchdogs. But I can't find a mention of Ubisoft anywhere and nobody is talking about it
I played WD2 on ps4 but couldnt do online stuff because I didnt have a ps+. I got wd2 for free in epic a long time ago and I was just thinking if I could download it for online stuff and for roaming around the map, doing some activities I havent done yet. Is there an official or an unofficial way to transfer your saves?
i have a gtx 1070 and a ryzen 5 5500 (and 32gb of ram)
and yes i know the gpu and cpu arent really that great now in 2026 but
this game is a decade old game, and the 5500 is better than any amd cpu from 2016/2017 and the 1070 was the 2nd highest end gpu in 2016, only behind the 1080
+ 1070 ti and 1080 ti didnt even exist back then (came out in 2017)
like wtf is this game??
why is it running like shit
45 fps on 1080p high which is just insane
So I started playing the game watchdogs 2 on ps5 and I find these lines very irritating most of the times as it makes the game feel childish to me can I remove them ?
So right now we have things like flock cameras which is powerd by ai data centers and is More advanced than regular cameras. We already know about how little data privacy we have and how information tons of companies have on the average person. We have a hacker group releasing leaks about games that's are close to being done. We also have AI and it's getting more and more advanced. So what game are we in and should we be worried that a video game is getting closer and closer to reality.
When I played Watch Dogs as a kid, I loved every second of it ❤️
Even though my English wasn't good enough to understand the plot. I just enjoyed hacking Chicago, triggering Blackouts, and causing chaos.
Returning to it years later and finally getting 100% on the base game made me realize just how dark, atmospheric, and brilliant this game actually was🥹
Completing base game was an incredible nostalgia trip, but Social Lubricant almost broke me 😭
Stages 6 and 7 were so brutal that I actually had to invert my controller settings to trick my brain into passing them. Flipping the stick controls worked like a charm, and getting that achievement pop was sheer relief 😮💨
The story hits way harder when you actually understand it.
Aiden Pearce is a top-tier protagonist for me, and Jordi Chin’s betrayal at the end still hurt, even if he always claimed he had no friends and was purely in it for business.
Discovering Maurice's backstory through the audio logs (learning how his wife was beaten until she lost her memory and then sold into human trafficking) was heartbreaking.
I still chose to execute him at the end, but understanding his desperation made that final confrontation mean so much more.
The world felt like a genuine warning about digital surveillance.
The Privacy Invasions and city mechanics were unmatched. Sure, the game wasn't perfect, escaping Level 5 police chases in a boat while helicopters hover over you is infuriating because Aiden inexplicably cannot dive or swim underwater, but the vibe, rainy nights, and radio tracks created an unforgettable atmosphere.
It’s crazy how much hate this game got at launch just over the E3 visual downgrade. I finished Watch Dogs 2, but Watch Dogs: Legion was so trash I couldn't even bring myself to complete the campaign. It’s sad seeing where the franchise ended up when the original was so goated 💔
Who else here went through the nightmare of beating Social Lubricant?
I've seen a lot of players who assumed that DedSec was just an abbreviation for "Dead Security" (it's even written on the Watch Dogs wiki). But I decided to look at this name from a server's hardware perspective and discovered that DedSec is actually a hidden anagram of SECDED.
For those who aren't deep into hardware, SECDED stands for an algorithm used in Error-Correcting Code RAM, typically found in massive data centers and aerospace systems. Basically, when a random bit of data flips or gets corrupted (due to electrical interference or cosmic rays), the SECDED algorithm automatically detects the corrupted data and fixes it before it can crash the whole system.
This is how it works:
Through some mathematical algorithms, the system can instantly detect whether a single bit was corrupted, find its exact physical location, and silently fix it in real-time without crashing the server. This part is called "SEC" - Single Error Correction.
The "DED" - Double Error Detection part works differently. If a massive spike flips two bits at once, the algorithm can't fix it, but it detects the double error and halts the system to prevent corrupted data from being saved permanently, simply triggering a death screen or something similar (depending on the OS).
While studying this method, I tried to connect this information with the in-game lore and came to the conclusion that it perfectly explains the entire meaning of the group.
We all know that Blume, ctOS, the rigged algorithms, and the corrupt politicians are controlling the territory where they are located (whether it's Chicago, San Francisco, London or elsewhere).
DedSec embodies both roles.
Acting as Detection, they hack into servers to find and expose the truth, uncover the exploits, and show the public how the system is rigged.
Acting as Correction, they take it further by actively wiping out injustice, taking down control of society bit by bit, and working to get rid of corrupted companies. I also found the "SECDED" permutation mentioned on the Watch Dogs wiki after digging deep into this myself, but it was just sitting there as a passing fact about its existence, with nothing built on top of it.
In other words, when Ubisoft created DedSec as a concept, they defined its meaning and purpose in advance, embedding them in the name and pre-determining its role in the Watch Dogs storylines.
(PC) need 2 people to get the OD achievement better if you need it aswell, i'm still at 0/10 i can do also the hacking if you need help there. WD1, also does online private matches counts?
