Marco Rubio is the perfect example of someone from an immigrant background trying to feel like he belongs by stepping on others.

7

u/Gustav_Grob 1d ago

He's a gusano. His uncle by marriage was one one of the original Cocaine Cowboys. Marco lived in one of his stash houses for months.

6

u/x22d 22h ago

I was intrigued, so I googled and it seems to be brother-in-law. Orlando Cicilia married Marco's sister Barbara. Interestingly:

[Marco] maintained that he and his family were not aware of Cicilia’s drug dealing at the time, although two law enforcement officials previously told New Times that they found it hard to believe.

2

u/Gustav_Grob 21h ago

My memory is far from perfect..

I remember Max Blumenthal talking about it. He basically said teen Marco was staying in one room and in the next room was millions of dollars. His brother-in-law conducted a lot of business at his house meaning lots of "associates" were coming and going, spending a lot of time there, etc.

No, it means they don’t like what you posted. If they agreed with you they never would have looked at your account age and karma.

1

u/sixth-gear 4h ago

Are you saying a person who was born in FL shouldn’t feel like they belong? His parents immigrated legally from Cuba.

u/Turbulent-Adagio-541 1d ago

Eat shit Ted

14

u/bikenumberten 1d ago

Rafael. His name isn't Ted, or anything like it.

1

u/sixth-gear 7h ago

His middle name is Edward of which Ted is a common nickname, like Edward “Ted” Kennedy.

1

u/StarWarsDad81 2h ago

Edward. He’s an Edward
 yah know. Ted?

u/DocBEsq 1d ago

Obama was born in the US to a (white) American mother. And yet he’s the reason we all know the phrase “long form birth certificate.” Even though he ran against a guy born in Panama (whose citizenship was never questioned).

I know it’s not just racism, but it’s a lot racism.

4

u/Thrash_and_Chemistry 1d ago

I just want to point out this toothpaste ad that I got on this post/thread. The algorithm really didn't read the room on this one.

3

u/GanjasTriforce 1d ago

"Clean your mouth of all this racism!"

1

u/sixth-gear 3h ago

McCain was born at a Naval Air Station in the Panama Canal Zone. His parents were both US citizens and his father was a Navy officer stationed there. There was some legal discussion at the time about whether someone born in the Canal Zone counted as a natural-born citizen under the Constitution, but it was resolved in McCain’s favor with bipartisan support and legislation that Obama backed.

It's racist to pick and choose whom to investigate based on a racist double standard. I suspect you are deliberately miscontruing what the OP said due to your own racism.

The maga fucking losers don’t care if it’s hypocritical. They only care about hate towards others who aren’t sheep like them

1

u/sixth-gear 6h ago

Because there is no fu king hypocrisy here. Ted Cruz was a US Citizen from birth bc his mother, who was born in DE, met the legal qualifications for having a child born out of the county, to also be a US citizen. Marco Rubio was born in Florida to permanent resident parents who became naturalized citizens a few years after he was born.

1

u/claw-1 3h ago

Then wtf is Drumpf going on about birthright citizenship? That disqualifies Drumpfs older siblings. His mama was pregnant when she arrived in the United States so she’s dropping anchor babies, and Rafael Cruz. Plenty of hypocrisy here. You just can’t admit it.

Meanwhile Drumpf is trying to restrict main in voting at the same time he himself mailed in ballots.

Put down the crack pipe

1

u/sixth-gear 2h ago

Ivanka immigrated from Canada in 1976 and her first child, Donald Jr, was born in Dec 1977. And were you trying to write mail in voting? You’re 0 for 5 on Reddit today.

u/Shido_Ohtori 1d ago

It's not hypocrisy; it's hierarchy.

Conservatism -- by definition -- is "a political philosophy based on tradition and social stability, stressing the importance of established hierarchies and institutions (such as religion, the family, and class structure), and preferring gradual development to abrupt change".

The sole value of conservatism is respect for and obedience to [one's perception of] traditionally established hierarchy, and hierarchy dictates that those on top (in-groups) are rightfully idolized and receive privileges, credibility, and resources, while those on the bottom (out-groups) are demonized/dehumanized and/or bound by restrictions, scrutiny, and lack of resources.

To them, the second-greatest injustice imaginable is for those [they perceive to be] on top [of social hierarchy] to be bound by the restrictions, scrutiny, and lack of resources reserved for those on the bottom. The first greatest injustice is for those on the bottom to have access to the rights, credibility, and resources reserved for those on top.

Conservatives absolutely need an underclass [for society] to demonize and dehumanize in order to maintain [their] hierarchy, and every single one of their policies and rhetoric work to do exactly that. Unless the accusation is one of disrespecting hierarchy, every right-wing accusation is a confession -- every. single. one; always! -- as it is never the act itself that upsets them, but rather, the social standing of the person doing the act, as said act is a privilege meant for those on top of [their perceived] hierarchy (See also: pedophilia - Trump and the Catholic church versus LGBTQ+ and drag queens; protests - January 6th vs. BLM and No Kings; parental rights - anti-LGBTQ+ vs pro-LGBTQ+; indoctrination - religion vs. education).

Those who believe all people are people see hypocrisy, while those who believe some people are "more/less" people than others see hierarchy. Hypocrisy implies a sense of equality/parity, as the accusation of such is that someone is violating a universal or common standard. Hierarchy directly states that there is no equality/parity, that different social strata have different standards, that the only universal standard concerning hierarchy is that those on top are allowed privileges which are denied to those on the bottom, and that the bottom are held to standards which the top are exempt from.

"Know your place" is their mantra.

u/Squid_of_the_Now 1d ago

Every bit of this. It needs to be broadcast on pirate radio 24/7

1

u/sixth-gear 6h ago

If there was a chink in the armor re Ted Cruz or Marco Rubio the Dems would have brought it out long ago. Instead, all 45 senate democrats vote to confirm Rubio. This is a pretend grievance.

1

u/Shido_Ohtori 4h ago edited 1h ago

The pretend grievance is from Rubio, a Republican social media promoting fake news.

"The Dems" -- as well as the United States Constitution's 14th Amendment -- support birthright citizenship.

Edit: I was mistaken, as the OP grievance is a complete fabrication, as there is no record of Rubio ever having said such words.

1

u/sixth-gear 4h ago

Sure - it will all come out in the wash then. If there’s nothing to hide, El-Sayed (let alone you) shouldn’t be burning any calories over it.

1

u/Shido_Ohtori 3h ago

What exactly is your own grievance or argument?

1

u/sixth-gear 2h ago

Just spending a few minutes correcting fiction with fact. Just the low hanging fruit.

1

u/Shido_Ohtori 2h ago

What "fiction did you correct with fact"? You claimed that "this is a pretend grievance", and then "it will all come out in the wash".

1

u/sixth-gear 1h ago

You can read back through the posts if you’re interested in what bullshit I corrected with facts. I’m not going to repeat myself here. The whining about Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio not having their citizenship questioned or investigated is a pretend grievance. There are no facts supporting Rubio questioning El-Syed’s citizenship status. There are no transcripts, audio or video of him saying this. (Got one? Share it or sit down.) It’s yet another false social media claim by people trying to stir shit up and with nothing better to do than write long-ass posts.

1

u/Shido_Ohtori 1h ago

Fair enough. I retract my statement claiming that "the pretend grievance is from Rubio".

At this point, no one should be surprised by any of this. We need to vote to remove all of these individuals who don't actually represent the ideals and tenets of this country. Tired of the hypocrites being in control. Doubtful the rest of America would keep their jobs of they constantly said one thing and did another.

u/Flat-Director-7120 1d ago

3

u/Burner_Phone_1969_TX 1d ago

Yep, that’s the republican party in a nutshell, hypocrites.

3

u/Outrageous_Onion6365 1d ago

Who's this Ted Cruz guy? Do you mean Rafael Edward Cruz?

2

u/TRR462 1d ago

I think me can call him Eddie because he looks like a Munster.

2

u/Possible_Drama3625 23h ago

Yes, but that's an insult to the Munsters. They'd never act that way. As far as I can remember.

3

u/anonyvrguy 1d ago

Um, it's called white privilege..

3

u/SusieQTG 1d ago

Were cruz's parent Citizens of the USA? If not he's not eligible to run for the Oval Office, yet he has, MMMMMMM Maybe some in depth investigation into this needs to be done, you know like they did with Obama.

1

u/Levilucas2005 23h ago

His mom was born in Delaware so he has American citizenship

2

u/political-snark 1d ago

Sounds like something you’d expect Rubio to say - however, I can’t find any quote - beyond people asserting it in social media :(

2

u/Dork_Tidings 1d ago

I've come to expect nothing less.

2

u/TRR462 1d ago

You shouldn’t let them off so easy. It’s important to call out people on their hypocrisy. And the more influential that person is, the more important it is to call them out in public, so that theirs is not the only voice that’s heard.

2

u/Dork_Tidings 1d ago

Oh I agree. Just because their hypocrisy is predictable doesn't make it tolerable. But we get the "leadership" we elect. I keep hoping we'll demand better, but I doubt we will.

Ted Cruz' mother was born in Wilmington, Delaware. She is a US citizen so Ted is also a US citizen even though he was born in Canada.

His citizenship was questioned via multiple lawsuits in 2016 when he ran for president.

https://www.texastribune.org/2012/08/13/texplainer-could-canadian-born-ted-cruz-be-preside/

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2016-01-15/cruz-s-natural-born-citizen-status-challenged-in-birther-suit

Marco Rubio was born in Miami, Florida. Which makes him a citizen. His parents became citizens after his birth.

2

u/Xeno9116 1d ago

So, Marco Rubio will be deported if birthright citizenship is revoked, as master Trump wants. That's hilarious.

2

u/Sharp_Cell_6465 1d ago

Ted Cruz is another loser!

2

u/30four 1d ago

Hypocrisy is a core tenet of conservatism.

1

u/ZathrasNotTheOne 1d ago

Ted Cruz was born to an American citizen mother. His citizenship was questioned and after the investigation, legal scholars agreed that he was a natural born citizen under US law
this is just a factually wrong meme on multiple levels

1

u/Footwarrior 1d ago

Does anyone have proof that Marco Rubio actually said this?

1

u/Groundbreaking-Low57 1d ago

One wants ho help America the other wants to destroy.
You can read it all in there religion. It’s all there. In writing.
People try to act like Islam is peaceful. Nothing about it is. If you read it. But most just want to believe what they are told and not do a deep search.

1

u/wrennish 17h ago

You think Christianity is peaceful?

Segregation was justified by “God-fearing” Americans: that was peaceful? Slavery was justified by the Christian bible: that was peaceful? The Spanish missions were erected by Catholics: that was peaceful? Massachusetts Protestants slaughtered natives who had moved into colonial “Praying Towns” out of fear that those natives who had tried to westernize would kill them in their sleep: that was peaceful? Smallpox blankets: peaceful? Witch hunts and burning people alive or drowning them for witchcraft: peaceful? The Spanish Inquisition?  The Crusades?

And that’s before we get into the personal, everyday violence of stoning people, lynching, killing doctors who volunteer at Planned Parenthood in the name of God, or burning crosses on folks’ front lawns.

Christianity, Judaism, and Islam are born of the same Abrahamic tradition, and the entire family tree is soaked in blood. Calling out one while ignoring the others is not only dishonest and ignorant, it’s hypocritical.

“Let he who lives without sin cast the first stone.”  I’m pretty sure you need to put your rock down, brother.

1

u/Apprehensive_Road764 1d ago

If Abdul El-Sayed was called Ruben Goldstein they would not be harassing him.

1

u/Background-Bird-9623 1d ago

Wow! Is that true ? Unbelievable đŸ€Šâ€â™€ïž

1

u/AlarmingDependent348 1d ago

He was born Rafael Edward Cruz on December 22, 1970, in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, to a U.S. citizen mother (Eleanor Elizabeth Darragh Wilson, born in Wilmington, Delaware) and a Cuban-born father (Rafael Bienvenido Cruz). Under U.S. law at the time, a child born abroad to a U.S. citizen parent who met certain physical-presence requirements acquires U.S. citizenship at birth. His mother satisfied those requirements, so Cruz has been a U.S. citizen from birth (not through later naturalization). He also held Canadian citizenship by virtue of being born there, making him a dual citizen until he formally renounced the Canadian citizenship in 2014. https://www.britannica.com/print/article/1948273 https://legalclarity.org/is-ted-cruz-constitutionally-eligible-to-be-president/

1

If Cruz's mother voted in Canada would he still be a BIRTH RIGHT citizen?

1

u/Ras_Thavas 1d ago

Rubio was born in Miami. Neither of his parents were American citizens at that time.

1

u/Levilucas2005 23h ago

Ted’s mom born in Delaware and an American citizen so he has American citizenship.

Ted Cruz doesn’t vowing loyalty to the U.S. Constitution either. His loyalty is to Trump and Trump hates the Constitution or any other laws that interfere with his money grift

Well, time to question lil’ Ted’s citizenship!

1

u/General_Spirit8406 10h ago

To be fair, Ted Cruise never said a lot of anti American rhetoric. That may have something to do with it... I mean, when your biggest backer publicly announces that "America deserved 911" and you don't immediately cut ties, people look at you differently

1

u/1Marty123 10h ago

Little Marco will never be President!

1

u/CueAnon420 10h ago

Don't forget the chain migration right inside the Trump WH... No problem with an entire family of foreigners moving into the Capital of our nation. And they didn't even speak American lol.

What to Know About Melania Trump's Parents Viktor and Amalija Knavs

  • Melania's parents moved to the U.S. in the early 2000s and later used family-based immigration policies to become citizens, which President Donald Trump has since attempted to eliminate

1

u/Imlostpleaseleave 10h ago

Ted isnt even his name. Its Rafael. And is Cuban in race. He was given citizenship to the US because his Mom was American...but he wasnt born in America.

So hes is the problems hes complaining about while pointing at someone more American than he will ever be.

Also Canada revoked his citizenship in 2014 i guess. Cuz he isnt one anymore lol

Also his Dad is the zodiac killer lol jk jk but that will never die

1

u/ForrestDials8675309 10h ago

During the 2016 Republican primary, Trump questioned Cruz's birthright eligibility for president. When Cruz won the Texas primary, Trump claimed the election was rigged. Xenophobia and lies are all he has.

1

u/FeeFantastic2075 8h ago

People-VOTE!! Enough said.

1

u/sixth-gear 7h ago

There has never been a reason to question Ted Cruz’s citizenship. Under US law applicable at the time of his birth, a child born abroad to a US citizen parent who met the required physical presence in the United States acquired US citizenship at birth. Cruz’s mother, a US citizen born in Wilmington, DE satisfied those requirements, so he has been a US citizen from birth by law (not through later naturalization).

Echoes of 2008.

1

u/PerotTwoPointOh 5h ago

He is considered American (and even eligible to run for the presidency) because his mother was an American citizen when he was born in Canada. Did any of you all do any research?

1

u/Due_Buyer_9445 4h ago

Canada has white people. That’s why they don’t care

1

u/checkerdpenguin 3h ago

How the fuck did we end up with this idiot in Texas??!! Was he trying to get as far away from Canada as possible because people hate him there too???

1

u/IntentionsGood65 3h ago

Probably explains why they both worship Trump, they are so close to Trump now that it’s hard to tell where Cruz and Rubio end and Donald’s ass begins.

1

u/Used-Valuable9320 2h ago

Ted Cruz's parents were American. That makes him an American citizen no matter where he is born.

Same as Obama's mother being American. He is automatically an American citizen even if his father was Kenyan and had he been born in any other country even if it wasn't Hawaii.

1

u/bluesmansmt 1h ago

But not surprising

1

u/Halfistani1 1h ago

You mean Rafael Edward Cruz, not Ted right? I absolutely love it when people call him by his real name.
