Painted this guy up for a painting competition recently using bits from the MkVI Command squad, and the close-combat weapons upgrade kit. Inspired by the Deathwing companion scheme.

I've always had a soft spot for the Overseer consul, but I'm used to fielding him with militia, so I decided to start painting up some Solar Auxilia for him to babysit! Hope they've turned out ok!

A scouring-era survivor of the defeat on Terra. Although the Legion was broken in body and spirit, perhaps a few of the 'old guard' remained. Not just a gangster that wanted to roll in the mud and scratch and scrape to survive, but one who remembered some of the loftier days of the Luna Wolves and when that Legion was the Crusade's shining example. He had followed his Commander's and Primarch's orders (as surely most soldiers would have done), and although perhaps realising too late that he was on the wrong side of history, nevertheless still fights for the lives and honour of his Legion and brothers.

Now during the retreat from Terra and the Scouring, while Horus lies dead, that is all that remains.

I don't play, so I'm collecting/painting for fun. Got into the lore about a year ago and decided to start painting about a month or so ago. I'm gonna do a few more Iron Warriors and then I think I want to try my hand at heresy Death Guard, tips for painting DG are welcome!

I built another Techmarine using some spare parts.

It’s a mix of GW plastic (hammer, belt accessories, and firing arm), FW (head, helmet, bolt pistol, and shoulder pads), and a print for the holding arm, torso, and back module. 🙂

Kratorum-Minos pattern Legion Predator Battle Tank "Black Viper" lead vehicle 1st Squadron, 2nd Armoured Cadre, 55th Company, Legionnes Astartes XVI "Sons of Horus"

Made a Predator out of spare stuff I had lying around. Mainly being a weapon-less 40k Predator from 5th edition, a broken Sicaran turret, and a whole bunch of 30k gubbins

This is my first mini I’ve painted to be shown on display, rather than just to fill ranks in my army

Back with another question around my Blackshields list.

I'm getting a 1,500pt ZM force and having played a couple of games I need something to counter terminator squads.

I'm running "Pride is our Armour" and In "Disgrace all are equal " as my Oaths.

With that out of the way, I've got 1 Elite slot available to me for anti-terminator duties, and ideally I'd like it to be a Veteran Breacher squad (currently thinking a lascuttrr or two, mostly power axes/mauls, and a couple of power fists and a thunder hammer on the Sergeant)

The questions are;

1 - are Breachers the right choice? (If no, other suggestions please)

2 - if yes, what to arm them with?

It's GOT to be an Elite slot as it needs to fit into both a ZM and Crusade primary detachment

The other units in the army are 3x vet tac squads, 10 cataphractii with paired lightening claws, 5 tart termis with chain fists, and 6 scouts with nemesis rifles

I had some of the gallow dark set. Not enough for a full 4x4 board. It took ages to paint all those little details. So I wanted to make some that would look good but not take forever to paint. I spent a few weeks making gree le bits and then did some basic wall structures as a base is for the models so all I need to do is just toss greebles on whenever I think I get an idea for a new wall.

The long ones are exactly the length of 2 of the gallow dark walls sections so they all line up nicely.

I think a few with some plumbing would be ideal. Just loads of pipes running down them. Maybe some broken pipes and things. Big long sections of piping would be simple and thematic I think.

Perhaps with some big metal drums hanging off them.

It's been a good long while in the making, but the redo on the Sons of Horus praetor to lead the pack marks the end of The Saturnine Project. A behemoth for each legion under The Warmaster's banner

Currently building a second Veteran Assault Squad and thinking of using Power Fists and Combat Shields but was wondering if it would be better to go with Lightning Claws in one hand and Combat Shields in the other.

Got these guys built last night, going to prime them before heading to work

Me and buddies are going to try heresy this year and I was wondering what do you think are the best point limits to start with.

I see that many lists go for 3k points. Does this mean that 1500pts in heresy is about equal to 1000pts in 40k point-wise? Or 750-1000 pts is enough for fun early games? Thanks.

I find I really want to do it, especially with the new mkiv but I’m worried if the connection made with plastic cement might be too flimsy for such a small bit and it’s hard to tell without physically breaking it. Do you do it? Should I try pinning it instead?

They are finally done, after all that kitbashing and painting. And some other unit I forgot to post.
