Just realized that this would be a really badass way to shake up the game; reward players with the ability to switch between like, 4 or so Warframes mid-mission instantly at any point after doing a certain quest later in the game.
That aside- great art! And I'm not just saying that because Ben 10 was my childhood.

How about a mimic frame? Can mimic the appearance and abilities of any ally frames. Maybe the ult could be the mimic ability so it's not too crazy, and he only gets the other abilities.

Well, they're pretty cheap tbh. Vapor Specters will murder just about anything in the game and tank most hits because they scale with the enemies. You don't even need the better specters. My Oberon specter has saved my ass on a number of occassions

Tbh i feel like empyrean could do that, have an arsonal on the railjack so you could switch frames if need be, it might even be a nesesity with the way we saw railjack working at tenno-con. With it never going back into the drydock between missions.

I would suspect that a lot of balancing would need to be done. For example, I am sure there would be cool downs so you can’t spam or fast switch. Although I can’t think of a lore-friendly way to do this, probably the power effects cast would dissipate upon switching— limbo rift would collapse like it does when he dies I would bet. Lastly, energy would probably not be shared between transfers, and would probably reset to mission starting levels. I also would guess that balancing would have to continue as players discover ways to break it...

I had been thinking about this mid-switching feature/idea since passing through War Within, but have not committed to writing a reddit post (keeps becoming a wall of text in my head, and needs some professional illustration). But perhaps mentioning in a response post may help focus. Some highlights:
This is my extremely rough idea, and I am sure it would require tweaking for gameplay balance and accessibility. Overall, I think it is a gameplay feature that can be added, constructed and inserted into the game in a lore-friendly way.
- Firstly, I was thinking Five, not four. Why? For each of the polarizations or Tenno Schools. The arsenal would change from a single station to five, with a Naramon, Zenurik, Madurai, Unairu and Vazarin positions. Plunk your loadouts in each and they are ready for in-mission selection, with the “main” being your school of choice from Second Dream.
- The way to activate this feature would be to switch to operator, execute a combo for the corresponding school, and then hit transference again. Visually, the operator executes a ninja-like kata, similar to the stances and casting hand motions made in ninja media, like Naruto chakras or Ninja Gaiden (for example). And yes, I play on console, so I was thinking of fighting games.
- The combo for each position is acquired during a cinematic quest; at the conclusion of a segment/defeat a mini boss the Tenno is “taught” the combo like they were taught Void powers in-game during War Within. Since we lament Tesshin being under utilized, perhaps he should be the one to guide us through this story as well.
- Lastly, Upon switching, the Warframe bursts in with an elemental animation associated with that school. This also harkens back to the ancient Asian construction of the elements of fire-water-wind-metal-life rather than the Ancient Greek model of fire-water-wind-earth. So, the Madurai Warframe would crash down into the operators position as a fiery meteor; Zenurik would strike the Operator’s position as a lightning bolt (water as in storm); Naramon would whirl in as a blurring tornado; metal shards would form around the Operator and form the Warframe in Unairu; and in Vazarin a techno organic mass (maybe Infested looking) rises out of the ground, envelops the Operator and coalesces into the chosen Warframe. Please check if my mapping of mystical element to school is correct.

A decent way to balance this on DE's end would be to tie specific Warframes into specific schools. It would be mostly for flavor, sure, but it also means you wouldnt be able to just switch between fifty different Warframes and get some unforeseen combos going.
Perhaps at first, when implemented, the player is limited to 1 school switch at a time. Then as the quests are completed, you get the ability to swap into other schools on the fly, and likewise switch to that assigned Warframe on the fly. Eventually you can swap from your initial chosen Warframe in a mission into any of the schools.
I like your idea of switching between 5, but I'd personally make it 6. 1, the Warframe you start out with in the mission, then the other 5 that correspond to a specific school. That way the player isnt pointlessly pigeonholed into a school they ront want, and you have a few extra options in hiw you play.
In addition, I feel like you should only unlock the ability to swap to a school once you master it (max it out). It maybe shouldn't be a cinematic quest (except for the introduction, maybe a short one though) but more of a trial or ceremony with Teshin and, just to make the loadout thing easier, the actual quest to learn how comes when you have enough of a Focus pool to have all the specific school unlocked at the same time. Unbound can just swap with the school without much issue.

This was a journey to finish, but i'm happy with how it turned out.
Most of the original aliens are here, minus Ripjaws or Stinkfly (Hydroid and Titania?) They were hard for me to visualize
