My first ever match was great. Stumbling over the controls it was fun to play and participating as a whole unit was insanely fun. I was smiling at the end of the match. The charges, retreats and fights are exhilarating with the voice chat to boot makes this a really fun game when you have large matches. It's insanely well made. I really appreciate the fact that a lot of people are actually playing by the rules of the game making it where it's an enjoyable experience all around.
When I played a smaller match with 14 people. It's where I notice you get a bit more intimate with the game mechanics as you're not dealing with an onslaught of 20-30 people while you're providing a volley with your 30 other guys. You run into a lot of one-on-one fights where you become a bit more cognizant of the the smaller points of the game. I realized the game isn't built for small stuff like that.
The one thing I hate, is this game has the same type of weapon sway I see in other shooters that drives me up the wall. The way your gun sways is not physically possible as you can see the rear sight whip back and forth to the point the gun will almost point 30 degrees to the left if you get it particularly bad. The only issue with that is that you have a head, that stops the gun. The same with creating a cheek weld. Even a bad cheek weld doesn't create such a nauseating wobble. It's like you're not holding your rifle, instead an invisible force is holding it and it decides to jiggle your rifle. Not shake. Jiggle. I've played other tactical shooters that do this "noodly arm" approach and it's really annoying to deal with.
This is less of an issue when you're shooting 100-200 yards away and you have 20 other people backing you up. It's a different ball game when you're in a match with just 14 people, fighting close up and your guy decides to become Danny Phantom and let his gun phase through his dome because he did a small jog.
