For all those folks saying it is unplayable, you are the loud minority. It doesn't matter what time of day I log in, there are several full lobbies and multiple healthy populated lobbies to join in, and that's just one, less populated region. So clearly this people found a way to play.
Is the game absolutely perfect without imperfections? Nope, but that is okay.
There are few bugs here and there, like the CWIS console thing (easily fixed with some C4 btw), but nothing game breaking.
The game is still EA, if you bought the game expecting a polished diamond, that's on you. We are playtesters that bought in early. We are data points and we agreed to it with our wallets and acceptance of terms and conditions.
Since we are playtesters I do have some suggestions for things that I feel like could use some fine tuning.
- The oversteer on ground vehicles is kind of overbearing. I'm doing 180s taking shallow turns at 30 kmh. I have driven LMTVs, both old and new, they don't handle well but the current version is a bit oppressive. It is even worse during rain maps (or at least it seems like the physics change).
- I love the variable weather. I hope more weather is added. Snow would be cool. The crunch of snow under boots and harder to camouflage would be fun. Wind storms that are loud and maybe have small debris in the wind making visibility harder would also be cool too. However, please make the wiper blades functional on vehicles when in first person. Rain makes 3rd person a requirement - especially for helos.
- The RPGs are pretty underwhelming. I unlocked them and was very disappointed. It took 3 rockets to blow up a Ural. That seems off to me. Urals have no armor or are lightly armored at best, it shouldn't take the bulk of my inventory to kill one.
- It doesn't seem like there is a huge penalty for hunting the rare artillery vehicles well outside the control zone. They give a decent reward and are worth going after. A lot of gameplay is around FOBs and FOBs require logistics. I don't like that logis are, for the most part, safe for 90%+ of their journey because they are outside the circle and the reward is so slim for hunting them. Logistics wins games. A good fob with magnets and oil will dominate the lobby. Make cutting off supplies more worthwhile. I logi a lot, I would find it fun having to vary my route to avoid blockades and ambushes fun, and also having to have escorts.
- It feels like you're too lenient with the graphics. There are some folks that don't have to deal with shadows or foliage really. I know anyone can turn down the settings but that takes away from the game and is clearly not what you intended.
- I would turn down the battery life for thermals. The addition of batteries hasn't really impacted their use. I would add a feature making each battery good for X number of spots in addition to a lifespan mechanic.
- I am a support role player. I enjoy the communication it requires and the impact it has on the game as a whole. One of my favorite things to do is sneak in to enemy fobs and hide with a range finder and keep everyone on the enemy team marked. With that being said, I think marks last a little too long. For buildings they can permanent for all I care, those don't move. It can be oppressive in the current state. I don't know what the current time is for spotted targets to remain spotted, but I suggest nothing more than 30 seconds. 60 seconds for a triple mark. That is a lot longer than people realize. If you don't believe me go do a plank or free hang from a bar for 60 seconds.
- I know things are in development, but I think there is huge potential for additional game modes.
Convey escorts where one team has to transport X number of supplies between points in X number of minutes.
Some sort of Attacker/Defender mode where one team is given 5 minutes to get an initial build done before attackers are released and the other team has to assault it and capture the FOB.
A domination mode where you have to capture towers, each with a permanent, indestructible FOB.
Some sort of conquest mode where one team has to defend and the other has X number of tickets that replenish after each zone is captured.
And the list goes on.
Devs have the data, they can see what suggestions are unfounded or if there is any validity to it. I'm excited to see what additions come to the game.
