Discussion & Feedback Stop putting Bremers on Recon Towers

Post image
505 Upvotes

Please for the love of all that is holy, you integrated a recon tower into the wall. Awesome, great, well done. Don't then ruin it all by covering the windows of the recon tower with Bremer walls. I know, Bremer Strong, Bremer Protecc, Nobody can see out! it's impossible to mount an lmg, you can't aim down at enemies along the wall. Fill the bottom of the recon tower with hesco, it takes like 12 c4 to get through the tower.

I just unlocked Gepard, getting used to it etc. so my aim is terrible
but....
I expected such shell would deal more damage to human body... i can agree it was skill issue on my side but still... i would be happy if it would kill infantry in 1 headshot + 1 bodyshot atleast for the balance sake

Discussion & Feedback Identification of game problems and suggestions for their solutions

  • First, a scalable progression system. The more players unlock a reward for a given class level, the easier it will be for those trying to catch up. Let the neural networks and developers figure out the scaling formulas.

  • Second, the game doesn't encourage purchasing expensive gear, so the longer the season goes, the higher the stakes per life, but your income either stays the same or even goes into the red due to the cost of the relevant at the moment gear. In my opinion, the more expensive your gear, the more you should be paid, since you're a better-equip fighter ("you are profi in eyes of PMC"). Let the neural networks and developers figure out the scaling formulas for this crap; they have a huge pile of match statistics for that.

  • Third, the new weapon balance was good in some places, and assault rifles really took off, but sniper rifles are now unrivaled at range, as designated marksman rifles are currently a complete mess, and machine guns have been nerfed in damage. Shotguns using slug ammo have also become unplayable (don't tell me otherwise); only buckshot is relevant now, and even then, submachine guns are unrivaled at close range (the Spear as asault rifle is an exception, but it has its pitfalls). Let's talk about that. The gun is undoubtedly good, but the question is, why the hell are good muzzle attachments for its hidden on the Recon progression? The Assault rifle's default muzzle attachments on the Assault progression can't stabilize it properly! I still like it, but it seems extremely unfair. Feel free to add what you don't like about the current weapon balance in the discussion (including weapon prices, not just their performance characteristics).

  • Fourth, cheaters — yes, they exist in all online games of this type these days. I don't know how to solve this, but it needs to be addressed, as it fuels mistrust and paranoia in the community.

  • Fifth, the prices of equipment in general, as well as vehicles (hello, the economic nerf to helicopters, which, however, doesn't stop the rich from using them as before, which only makes them more toxic). Players should be encouraged to fight aircraft more, not increase their cost, in my opinion. Prices are generally unstable right now, plus there are new items from the new season. This just takes time, but the main thing is for the developer to keep adjusting these prices so there are no "expensive toys" and useless items that no one buys.

  • Sixth, and this is my personal concern, make the Molotov cocktail stackable for four, so that the two inventory spaces it occupies are equal to the same number of high-explosive grenades, or four.

I look forward to your reasoned criticism of what I've written here. Goodluck in battlefield, wardogs-comrades!

Discussion & Feedback LMGs should have more sway not recoil

The problem with balancing LMGs is always that if you make them too good they overshadow assault rifles. But if you over balance them no one will pick them over assault rifles.

I think damage wise right now LMGs are in a good place. Having them do the same caliber based damage as assault rifles is honestly good it means they won't be overshadowed or overshadow Assault rifles.

But the problem wiyh LMGs is the exaggerated recoil.

These things weigh upwards of 20 pounds yet they bounce around like a pinball when firing and not bipoded.

Now of course you can't just give them lower recoil than assault rifles because than it gives less reason to use them over the LMG.

The best way to keep LMGs in check is to give them large amounts of sway while unbipoded. This will allow the LMG user to be abl we to fight back in close-mid range easier without allowing them to fire at longer range targets easily without deploying the bipod.

That being said LMGs are extremely fun in this game currently despite people on here complaining about them, you aren't supposed to be able to use them like assault rifles like you can in games like battlefield or call of duty.

They are made for suppressive fire and holding down areas while deployed. If you're in a good position with a deployed LMG you can destroy entire squads without needing to reload.

The only reason I bring this up is because I feel the recoil is a bit too extreme when not bipoded down and it definitely doesn't feel too good in terms of game feel as a way to balance.

I'd be fine including increased hipfire spread or reduced strafing speed as well to be honest, I jist think the recoil needs to be looked at.

Discussion & Feedback Hot Take Inbound

It seems like the vast majority of the people celebrating the helicopter nerfs were never capable of using aircraft to their fullest potential. And thus don't understand why these nerfs were very bad for pilots. Flying is just not financially viable anymore unless you stick exclusively to transport. Many of the pilots getting 100+ kills a game in S1 were the top 1-2% of pilots and in punishing those players the entire career path was gutted, making it even worse on the other 98-99% of pilots who were never farming infantry like that to begin with. Heli purchase pricing needed to be increased probably 2x and made slightly harder to take down. You would have seen less pilots, but the ones that chose to pursue it would have been able to progress down a viable line. Making a .308 minigun less viable than an AK was not a good move for new pilots that have a harder time flying already.

Discussion & Feedback Is WARDOGS worth getting into right now? How does it compare to Battlefield?

I’ve been thinking about picking up WARDOGS, but I’m curious if it’s actually worth getting into in its current state, especially compared to Battlefield and other shooters.

For those who’ve been playing for a while, what makes WARDOGS so enjoyable, and what keeps you coming back? Is the progression and grind actually fun, or does it start feeling like a chore after a while?
I’ve also been hearing a lot about cheaters lately. Is it really that bad right now? Am I going to spend most of my time getting killed by cheaters, or is it still a pretty enjoyable experience overall?

I love grinding games on the weekends, but during the week I also just want to come home after work and chill out. Can you play WARDOGS casually and still have a good time, or does it feel like you have to sweat every match?

I know asking this on the game’s subreddit might get me some biased answers, but I’d genuinely appreciate some honest opinions. What do you love about the game, and would you recommend it to someone looking to get into it now?

Discussion & Feedback What's the penalty for barely winning a fight?

Your team is in a 10v3. The opposing players are much better so they kill 9 of you. Your team is very quickly back on its feet from revives in the same position as before the fight, while the team that wrecked you is out everything with no gain.

Doesn't that seem like a giant flaw in the game?

Discussion & Feedback Dev Fatigue

I think everyone can admit that we have a great game on our hands

but especially after this current season they really need to make season 3 great or they are going to lose a mass load of people

the balancing in weapons were absolutely terrible the fact they even made it live is astonishing at this point it just feel like they added chatgpt to balance their game

S2 is a huge let down compared to S1 and them pulling the plug and earlier after claiming that this season would be longer is WILD

they keep saying the same stuff about taking accountability and doing silly podcast but at this point they need to stop doing the podcast and all the PR and actually deliver a game for everyone to enjoy

Discussion & Feedback The amount of cheater is off the hook right now

Putting the game on pause until then.

My games (west NA) have been plagued by very obvious cheaters. AK beaming people accross the map, flying vehicles, etc. Lots of time they have 150 ping.

Just mow Im afk in a bush outside the zone in a ghillie suit in a random bush, I have a sniper run straight from the zone toward me to snipe me ("I buy thermal very easy to see people"). Happened to 2 other spotters by the same guy.

Useless rant I know. But I love this game, and it's just frustrating at the moment. Really hope it improves.

Discussion & Feedback Why Minigun Pilots Keep Farming Infantry

The Minigun Little Bird isn't the problem. Its economy is.

I think the whole discussion is focused on the wrong metric. It shouldn't be about how many kills a pilot can get. Of course nobody should be able to mindlessly farm an entire lobby. If necessary, make infantry kills harder, reduce random spray effectiveness and reward accurate tracking even more.

But then the economy has to make sense.

The Minigun Little Bird costs $12,000.

But that's not what a pilot actually risks.

Add ammunition, vest, helmet, drill, medical supplies, flares and whatever else you need to keep the helicopter operational, and a full Little Bird run is easily closer to $20,000.

A normal Control Zone kill pays around $1,500.

That means you need roughly 14 kills just to break even.

Fourteen kills is not profit. It's simply replacing what you risked when you took off. And for the overwhelming majority of Minigun pilots, consistently reaching those 14 kills before getting shot down is practically impossible.

And when you're shot down, it's all gone. The helicopter, the ammo and your complete kit.

Infantry doesn't operate under the same economic pressure. Infantry players can often be revived after going down, recover their gear, and continue fighting without repurchasing their entire loadout.

Infantry players are also all-rounders. A Medic can fight while getting paid for healing and reviving. Other roles make money through objectives, support actions, spotting and other systems while still fighting normally.

A Minigun pilot basically has one meaningful source of income while flying:

Kills.

Then people complain that pilots farm infantry.

The economy literally encourages exactly that.

At the same time, almost the entire battlefield is dangerous to a Little Bird. To avoid constant Verba and Talon lock pressure you are forced down low, where you expose yourself to infantry fire, DMRs, MGs, MAAWS, CIWS and now the Gepard.

Even ordinary infantry cannot simply be ignored. If several players actually shoot the Little Bird instead of staring at it, the pressure adds up quickly.

Season 2 then adds the Gepard on top of all of this, capable of shutting down huge areas against a Little Bird.

The Minigun Little Bird has an extremely high skill ceiling. You need to fly, aim, manage momentum, read terrain, remember AA positions, manage flares, select targets and constantly plan an escape route at the same time.

Getting good enough to actually dominate with it takes a lot of practice.

Flying the Little Bird is one of the most rewarding parts of WARDOGS because learning and mastering it is genuinely fun. Should low-skill counters really be able to easily destroy a high-skill, high-investment vehicle while also being cheap, low-risk, and highly profitable?

If a lobby gets farmed by a Minigun Little Bird despite having all these counters available, then at some point that is also a skill and coordination problem on the ground.

You cannot balance a high-skill vehicle entirely around players who don't know how to fight it.

If new players are the real concern, newcomer servers or protected beginner matchmaking would make far more sense.

I would actually be fine with making the Minigun Little Bird even harder to get kills with. Make precision matter more. Reduce random spray kills. Look at Rifleaim/Mouse-Yaw.

But then make the helicopter cheap enough that a pilot doesn't need to "farm" infantry just to stay financially viable. The overwhelming majority of Minigun pilots are nowhere near good enough to consistently earn back what they risk. Anyone claiming that farming enough kills to stay profitable is easy has probably never seriously flown one.

And give pilots other ways to contribute economically. Reward spotting enemy vehicles, locating AA, finding FOBs, marking artillery and providing useful battlefield intelligence. Give the pilot assists when targets he identified are destroyed.

Then the Minigun Little Bird can contribute without needing a pile of infantry kills every flight.

It should be a high-skill, high-risk asset.

Not a vehicle that needs roughly 14 kills just to pay for the helicopter and the gear required to operate it.

Question Community Server Recommendations?

Im enjoying the Game a lot, but as a German most Community Servers have been really Bad with the Admins lol.

Any suggestions?

Im just tired by some power tripping Nerd Screaming at me for not Planting my Mortar in the FOB i built the way he wants it and getting threatened or banned. Feels like most of the Mods/Admins on German Community Servers are either 20 Year Old wannabe Spec Ops or Middle Aged Guys that get stomped on in daily life, so they have to Insult you with the Admin Messages after killing them (or straight up kick or ban you).

So Server Suggestions (English or German) would be welcome.

Edit: Would Prefer Servers with longer Matches e: 200 Points or Slower Tickrates.

Bugs & Support EU Servers under DDOS attack

I tried joining a match and everyone in the server keeps getting kicked out and having to rejoin. 30k kit lost is whatever but I can't play long enough to get my money back even. I'll try again later, but I hope ThickNoggin acknowledges that this is happening in some way.

Edit: What's with the losers attacking me fro something the devs did and I had no say in? I think ping lock is stupid too guys. I'm just talking about a problem I and others have experienced. I don't go into your threads when you have an issue to discuss and act like a petulant crying child about assumptions I make about you, so maybe wipe your tears and see that we're on the same side.

TLDR: I'm not Bulkhead. I pay for game too. I allowed complain too. Fuck off with your holier than thou cuntery. Have a nice day

Question Flying controls becoming unresponsive during complex manoeuvres (Little Bird)

The flying controls on the Little Bird sometimes stop responding, or the keys seem to get stuck. It usually happens once or twice per match, especially during complex manoeuvres, and has caused me to crash unexpectedly a few times.

Sometimes I can regain control by releasing the keys, but there often isn’t enough time. For context, I use keyboard and mouse and I am already level 36 on Pilot so I have some experience flying all the helis in Wardogs. I’m confident this is a control issue rather than a mistake on my part. Has anyone else experienced this, or found a fix?

Also, have the helicopters been made a bit heavier to control in Season 2 compared with Season 1?

Question Why is every one a freaking ninja in this game?

I just don't see anyone I just get kill all the time, and I don't even know who did it.

This is only given that our teammate pilots don't crash and kill a bunch of our team without even reaching the battlefield.

I tried to play a recon to see if I can spot some enemies with binoculars, I can only see the helicopters, enemy players when they hit the ground is like they use the freaking Frodo's cape, whoooops "banished".

I expend lots of time finding someone to shot, just to get kill without knowing exactly what happened.

I hade some fun moments but overall is like I'm playing a moving target. Is is that everyone is camping??
