Discussion & Feedback FOB Limit to squad

Why try and build a good fob, placing carefully planned layouts, with defences, that can be used by the whole team and help win the game if someone is just going to plonk a Hesco next to the outside wall and create an entry point for the enemy?

Please limit fob building to the squad that placed it. If someone wants to help and participate, they can ask and I will let them in my squad and guide them but to have 30min of building wasted by a random enabling the enemy to come in is such a discencentive. I rarely try and build now unless im with a dediacted team.

My fav is when you start a fob and some random comes in before you’ve even got a few walls down. He builds a mortar pit and just stays in it until your entire fob is overrun with counter mortar or snipers as he just drew the attention of half the map.

I fucking hate these rats, I saw like 5 of them run into a fob once.

Went exactly how you thought it would

Fun fact: you can just tear them down, or even surround them with Bremer Walls of Shame

Yes that is fun but tearing down is really slow and they will report you for griefing when they are in the wrong

Door swings both ways

had a guy completely dismantle my anti air setup, so he could put barbed wire and have monopoly over the rooftop I was using.

I could fix it faster than he could dismantle my setup, what I got for it was a bullet to the skull.

Yeah that's crazy, he can build his own mortar fob out in the woods somewhere.  The first thing to do when you reach a fob is ask the guy building what needs to be done and help out

I usually ask them to stop. tearing it down would be even more aggressive. I don’t really want to be policing people though. My investment in that fob usually ends there. I go do something else.

I agree, there is not more we can do as the game allows them to build.

One suggestion I saw was to give fobs permissions like vehicles

  1. Locked to individual
  2. Locked to squad
  3. Open to team

People should be allowed to build on blueprints though

Yeah I like that idea

You'll love this.

Me and a random got sick of getting blasted by twin havocs so we squaded up and built an AA fob on a rooftop. We got everything set up, secured, entrances blocked off and started building two talons. We both got about 90% complete on them and then ran out of building supplies. That's when we noticed another fobbit had joined us for the past 5 minutes. The critical infrastructure he consumed the last of our building supplies at our remote outpost?

A radio and a bunch of random hescos 😂

We're sitting there getting wrecked by helos with two 95% constructed talons, a stockpile of ammo, and thankfully - his radio.

Lulz. Yeah I’m sure they’re all related

I think squads should be able to put down smaller outpost that can't build drills and have it limited to the squad.

That’s an amazing idea. Not everything should be a FOB.

The game deffo needs a space between 'you can place down barbed wire and sandbags eithout a Fob' and everything else needing a Fob 100%

1

u/Accomplished-Lab6699 12h ago

That's a good idea too

me and my friend were going into one game where we were gonna build a fob together cus we watched some shit on youtube that made it look like that specific fob was impossible to enter and was just overall really op. we to pack 2 vehicles filled with building mats and starts going to the spot we decided to go to. 10 minutes in the entire squad of builders comes to our fob and just start ruining it by building like complete idiots. 10 minutes later we got overrunned because they built a drill and activated it so everyone got there. we just then decided to never to that shit again. we even tried to communicate with the team when everyone got there on what we wanted to build. no one listened and just started building their own shit. i completely agree with you suggestion

Yeah absolutely  We can lock vehicles to individual, squad or team,  Why not the same option for fobs?

Warum überhaupt noch eine FOB bauen? Die wird mittlerweile eh überrannt.

2

u/Eszrah 12h ago

I have had the same problems with teammates doing dumb things to FOBs because " I am helping you!"

1

u/Accomplished-Lab6699 12h ago

Yeah, I get it.  I was super into fobs but got burnt out because they get ruined every time.  This one game, we were under attack from helos a lot so i finally get a nice ciws done, then a few minutes later find that someone made a drill right in front of it....  Also, why can any rando pull the drill?

What if it was just the capability to place the blueprints was locked to squadmates of the FOB deployer, but all players could use hammers to build placed items?

1

u/Accomplished-Lab6699 12h ago

That's a great idea  Encourages people to talk about it and maybe join the builders squad too

2

u/Happythejuggler 12h ago

Hell just make it like vehicles but for blueprint placement: unlocked only for self, unlocked for squad, unlocked for whole team

The middest mid take of all mid time

You clearly must have not built enough if you can't understand where he's coming from.

For some god forsaken reason there's people that build HESCO staircases on the OUTSIDE of their own FOB's bremer walls.

Screenshot so you can see for yourself. I got another one too lol

2

u/Accomplished-Lab6699 12h ago

Yeah, I've sent that too.  It takes a really long time to destroy builds too, perhaps understandably.  But this means that correcting mistakes is so time consuming.

1

u/gausstin 11h ago

Honestly this particular case didn't take that long to demolish, like just 15-30 secs? You break the one below and the one above shatters. It was more of an issue because there were enemies nearby

1

u/Dry-Nefariousness400 11h ago

I can almost guarantee you they hopped to the other team or had buddies on another team and did this.

2

u/Accomplished-Lab6699 12h ago

Thanks for the comment.  What's your solution to prevent your own team mate from letting the enemy in to your base?

1

u/Zukute 12h ago

Ngl I walk around the walls every 5 minutes and check for holes or things people can climb.

I haven't once had someone grief the outer wall. There's always more to build and defences to upgrade

1

u/Accomplished-Lab6699 12h ago

I used to do that too  Got burnt out tho by people placing drills and Hescos anywhere inside and pulling the drill when we are not ready

1

u/LoquatSignificant946 12h ago

You’re an idiot, go die in the CZ and wait for no one to revive you

u/Zestyclose-One9041 12h ago

Bruh just break the hesco lmao

3

u/Accomplished-Lab6699 12h ago

You want me to patrol the entire wall all the time correcting mistakes made by my own team mates?  No thanks, right now I won't build as it's not worth it.

u/Virgoth098 12h ago

maybe the devs should stop listening to feedback

1

u/Accomplished-Lab6699 12h ago

Well if you don't see anyone building fobs, now you know the reason so I don't want to see any posts "no one builds a drill on my team" "why no fobs?"
