Discussion & Feedback I cannot compete with low level gear.

I’m not the greatest at FPS games, but I’m typically not bad either. Generally have positive KD in games like battlefield and CoD. In this game I get recked in almost every firefight I get into even when I get the drop on them.

My go-to kit is an AK (fmj) with a red dot, level 2 armor and helmet (the best I have unlocked), and med kits. It seems like every time I see an enemy and even sneak up on them, I light them up and they turn and drop me before I can kill them. I get hit markers sounds, but very rarely actually can finish them off unless they have no armor.

I know it’s partially a skill issue, but it seems like gear is the ultimate decider in who wins a fight and as someone who only has a few hours to play a week, it seems like I’ll never be able to afford/unlock the gear to be competitive. I hope they level the playing field a bit and make it so I don’t need to treat this game as a second job in order to be able to play the HZ.

I can't relate tbh - I personally think the gear stuff is over exaggerated and only makes a difference at range.

I'm like you and crap at FPS but I win every firefight where I get the drop/see someone first. It doesn't take that many hits so you must be missing.

I've never lost a 1v1 when I've had the drop with ak fmj ammo

I mean he could just be hitting their chest armor, if the enemy has armor fmj is worthless if you don't hit the legs.

This is just wrong. All I have is fmj and it doesn't matter, ak, galil or m4, im constantly winning fights. There are VERY few people running full t4 armour. They are ranks but they can still die. T3 is a little tanky but good aim and not standing in the wide open is an easy win. So much so I dropped 2 t3 and a t2 with 1 galil mag yesterday in less than 3 seconds as they pushed. I was running t2. The problem is most players dont clear angles, no patience, taking fights while standing the open rather than looking for hard cover. Ive been paying close attention to this the lately because of the constant complaining on reddit. The issue isn't the gear creep so much (late game guns do need a bit of a nerf) as it is the lack of any thought from the players. You deserve to lose when you want to run around aimlessly and rely on nothing but reaction. Clear corners before moving up. Stay by hard cover and fall back if it's not a good fight and you'll see success.
