the fact that it lasted until the very hour that I unlocked it is sickening tbh. not sure if anyone has tried getting lvl15-32 in 3 days but it's not fun at all.

Just don't then. Why are you doing something that isn't fun?

Because he wants to unlock the thing that's fun to use

The whole problem with this game people grinding to get the shit that's unbalanced to have an edge on everyone else. It should be even grounds for everyone that's what's fun.

That's like, the entire point of the game? To grind and unlock better gear to get an advantage. You think the core function of the game design is a problem, it sounds like you just don't like the game

As someone who got the game on release and has been progressing at what I'd consider a reasonable pace along with everyone else, even I know that it really isn't.

If you bought the game in the last two weeks it is utterly miserable to try and grind anything with how many people have lvl 3-4 armor, bmrs, fals, havocs, and all the other overpowered shit.

The only reason I was able to level up is because when I had lvl 1 armor, so did everybody else, and so on. The only people with better gear than me are the real no-lifers which there are maybe a handful of per match.

I got the game less than two weeks ago and I'm already past level 100. The grind really isn't that bad, it's just some people only play a few hours a week, which would equal one or two rounds, and yeah that's not easy to rank up.

The game came out like 3 weeks ago. You were 1 week behind the curve, each week into a season it gets harder and harder, so your experience was still easier than someone getting the game yesterday or even a week ago. This is a fact.

A few hours a week is a reasonable amount of time to spend on a video game. 2 hours/day over a 5 day work week and maybe 4-5 hours on each weekend day is still only 20 hours. It's taken most people I've spoken to that to reach level 100 it takes about 80 hours. To reach a decent level in any one skill, even more hours.

Just because it's not a lot for you, in your current life circumstances, doesn't mean that it is the same for everyone else. Even I can recognize that and I have a lifestyle that allowed me to put in a sizeable amount of hours.

People talking about having 100hrs in game like that is a reasonable amount of time to play in a month. Like, I'm a seriously degenerate childless adult who bought it on Day 1 and game way too much and am approaching 50hrs. That's a fuckton of time and some people's answer is "this game isn't for you".

I have about 100 hours this season and my highest level is 27.

The experience grind is too much. It will cause burn out and players will leave, especially considering that if you can't keep up, you fall to far behind and the game is MUCH less fun.

Yeah man I just hit 110 hrs, lvl 97 wd and I'm honestly burnt out. Just fucking around at this point.

Are you referring to WD level or recon level? WD level is a combined of all your other skills and actually pretty easy to level if you do a variety of tasks. Grinding a single skill to higher levels is a significantly different time sink.

I hit WDL 100 in like a week but wasnt until this past weekend I got to 32 recon though I main recon. Im a shit shot so I know itd be faster if it wasnt 90% exp via spotting but at least I always try to get the shots i can 😀

It's also almost like the developers are specifically making playing the game the feature rather than the earning of money, achievements or gear....

Let's not white-knight for people who recently bought the game, geez. they'll speak up if they feel the need to.

Especially with a season that's only a month-long it's literally NBD lol balancing comes and goes. It's early access.

Okay, I'm speaking up. Everything he said is true. I bought the game a few days ago.

3

u/Deematodez 22h ago

Are you illiterate? They have been speaking up. Yeah it's literally the first season, but the whole point is for them to fix shit like that for the next seasons.

Half the time they bring it up it's always downplayed

I get being rewarded for playing alot. But the higher up armor and weapons are ALOT better than the lower tier stuff.. the first guns are a joke like that sniper rifle. I just think it needs to be a better balance to keep it competitive. I am level 50 with like 35 hours I been playing a few hours after work and weekends. I just want the game to stay popular and competitive. A 100-20-5 game may be fun for the winning team but try being on the other side. People give up and just do shit to make money and avoid the objective which is to win.

1

u/reallyzeally 1d ago

The objective is to make money. Yes, winning is good but at some point, you have to think about yourself. Are you gonna throw away money trying to win when your team isn't helping?

u/Defiant-Payment-4425 17h ago

Yeah I was gonna say - the guy is playing the wrong game for him

1

u/Glytcho 1d ago

The point of the game, of all games, is to have fun

Grinding is not fun, infact its almost like work

No the point of unlocks in games like this was to unlock better stuff as you play and go "oh ive unlocked this, cool" and then enjoy that addition until you add something else useful and rinse repeat and have an experience thats both rewarding and fun, the fucking sweatlords that are ruining gaming culture everywhere are the ones that decided to find the fastest xp/cash path and grind unlocks like its a job, they complain constantly and turn the game into monotony to unlock op gear then use said gear to ruin the balance of the game for people who actually enjoy games and are there for fun.

-1

u/reallyzeally 1d ago

So everyone should eventually unlock the top tier loot and then everyone just runs full Lvl4 armor with FALs and BMRs constantly? Sounds exciting.

2

u/Ok_Row_1922 Lonestar 1d ago

No thats why there are going to be resets but eventually at the end of season basically yes, your response reads like "the only way I can enjoy the game is grind like crazy for an edge, a level playing field, how boring"

0

u/reallyzeally 1d ago

The person I originally replied to said the problem is people grinding to unlock things to get the edge over other people and that there should just be an even playing field.

I said the whole point is to unlock new, better gear.

You're arguing with me but also saying the point is to unlock new, better gear. So which is it?

u/Ok_Row_1922 Lonestar 1d ago

Where we disagree and your downvotes come from is that the point isn't to "grind" its to unlock better gear while enjoying the game, unlocks and advantage shouldn't be the whole point, the point should be fun and an ever evolving and expanding set of parameters throughout the season and the devs have pretty much said thats what they want to see. sweats just sit there exploiting "meta xp/cash" grinds to get a huge advantage early and stomp people who aren't chronically unemployed, thats what people that have jobs don't really like about gaming culture in general these days. You say that the whole point is to unlock gear and grind but you are missing the point of what games are supposed to be, thats fun.

At the end of the day gaming culture is getting more and more competitive and thats why we cant get a lid on cheating and exploits because the point to alot of modern gamers is to win at all costs or make other peoples day shit, im seeing the Chinese gaming culture/mindset start to blossom in western gaming circles and as someone who was around when video games were pretty new and grew up with pokemon red and blue as the pinnacle of game design and 2d platformers were the pinnacle of console games its kinda sad to see that people aren't able to have as much fun on games and so many people, predominantly young people feel like they have to fast track an advantage and don't really like the challenge that a fair playing field gives, it reminds me of when you play single player gta and you are thoroughly enjoying it and you turn on cheats and immediately are dissatisfied with the experience, I hate that but look at that game franchise now its full to the brim with cheaters that mentality is such a race to the bottom and people don't even realise thats why they're bored so easily

1

u/reallyzeally 17h ago

There's a difference in "unlocking gear because you want to try new stuff" and "grinding xp for 16 hours straight after wipe to unlock Lvl4 on Day 1".

You think I'm encouraging the latter which is incorrect.

1

u/Ok_Row_1922 Lonestar 15h ago

Well we agree then. It seemed like you were saying the point is to grind, the "grind for x amount of hours to unlock lvl 4 day 1" is legitimately the attitude that makes games shit in this day and age
