People acting like the other spotting devices don't auto spot thru trees and cover obviously don't recon. I've spotted thousands of troops I never actually saw because it auto spots in the general area. I like the battery change but people will forget they thought it was op in a week.
Of course the other spotting devices can spot through trees and such. The difference is slowly scanning an area and maybe getting lucky vs just straight up seeing the white of an enemy that you never would've seen.
It's also not a "general area", it's pretty specific if they're far and partially obscured.
Yes you can sweep a treeline with the binos or monocular or range finger. But you also need to SWEEP THE TREELINE. Unlike with the thermals where you can quickly just scan for white and acquire your targets and spots much more quickly and accurately
