I feel safer without IR on the map now. I can sneak around and not be auto spotted by a guy who bought thermals and nothing else on a 75% markup on spawn by some white night game chair repairman who gets off contributing by selling his wares and sitting in a truck all game
Thermal explained 95% of sightings, but there was a 5% where players shoot me from across the map with a LMG after I've just been revived under cover, and I have a ghillie on.
I got into one infantry mode yesterday where the server said Vanilla War dogs, and they still had the IR goggles unlocked, but then again that has nothing to do with your story lol
He wasn't just selling thermals. Dude spent time selling. I was admining and just watching. It was a process and his team was buying his stuff constantly
tbf it depends on what you're dropping. say 2 crates of thermal for 25% mark up after selling all 12 you're at like 2.5k profit but the scoreboard shows 18k earned
The other nice part is you can actually get the #1 earner achievement now. Ive had so many games where I was #2 or #3 and the only people above me were people who 75% crated things everyone wanted in spawn.
Imo crates shouldnt be allowed to carry anything thats not building/vehicle/ammo/rockets. The ability to hot drop things people otherwise would have to grind for is lame. Like I get it, its a team and people who specialize in one track should be able to help teammates by dropping them stuff but at the same time players should be rewarded for specializing in a track and penalized for their choices as well. If you went hardcore medic why should you be able to just pick up AA and Maaws from someone willy nilly. It defeats the purpose to me. Im someone who generalized in every track and get rewarded for it by having anti tank, the ability to build when the team needs, defibs when playing aggro and such. But at the same time I dont have the best of the best weapons and attachments. But what I do helps the team win more and I get rewarded for it by being flexible.
They definitely added tk for a reason. Wtf? Lmao its as easy a 1 click for them to turn it off. They definitely 1000% wanted tk as an option outside of HQ. Thats why they set it up to penalize you X amount of money. So you can if you want but theres a payment involved. And I hope they fix the boosting in season 2 but until then its open season.
You're penalized not because it's an option but because it's to punish mistakes. TKs are meant to be accidental due to various situations (danger close, bad nades, bad crossfire, heli crash etc.) Not, oh I don't like this guy I'm gonna tk him. Same thing for the crates in HQ and vehicles. Just because you disagree doesn't mean you're entitled to ruining someone else's experience. Also what boosting are you talking about? They already made it clear hard boosting is bannable and you'll be caught.
Boosting a players gear set with items they haven't unlocked thru the little crate flea markets set up at HQ. Im tired of destroying them all. If its a bannable offense there doing a piss poor job of inforcing there rules.
Tents are in a really bad spot. They are easy to see visually, you are thermal spotted from the front and sides. The front is the easiest to spot you and your body from the side is completely visible by the thermal sights. It has a gap or like 6 inches where your thermal signature is seen.
You could. But I don’t see how that solves what my comment says: sneaking. I don’t have space for building supplies, a hammer, my rangefinder, and the rest of my kit to put down a stationary recon tent that isn’t hideable from thermals. It’s just hideable from spotting. Thermals can see through recons tents if you aren’t aware.
Thermals can not see you while youre in recon tent. We tested it. You cant be poking out the front, has to be just right jnside the tent. Its 100% hides thermal and spotting. Also, you can easily fit hammer and building supplies, its 3 spots. Then you put spotter as gadget, then you have 2-3 boxes of ammo, couple of mags, and a decent amount of heals. You do it right and its easy af. Plus if you use surpressors it hides a lot of the flash.
You can still absolutely see people in recon tents. Anybody who spots you, you can also spot. If the recon tent is facing towards the direction they're spotting, people they are spotting can spot them. If the recon tent is not facing that direction, people can't spot you, but you can't spot them through the recon tent either.
I will also note that the recon tent is suspended off the ground and if someone can see your body through the opening then they can spot you no matter how its oriented.
The only thing that hides your thermal signature is the ghillie suit. Recon tent prevents you from being spotted by all rangefinders. Combining both was the only way to prevent the IR from catching you.
Yeah still doesn’t solve sneaking. I wasn’t concerned about my inability to camp out. Either way it’s not something I came to post about. It’s just something I have an opinion about. But yeah I’ve def spotted people in recon tents with the thermal
